As most people know, the greatest, most heartfelt and thought-provoking sitcom of our generation is FOX's smash-hit comedy, Futurama. This is not a subjective opinion, but rather an objective fact. From the show's diverse and beloved cast of colorful characters to its zany sci-fi antics, Matt Groening's seven time Emmy-award winning cartoon has it all. The story begins on December 31st, 1999 in the heart of New York City. A young slacker named Phillip J. Fry is sent to deliver a pizza to a laboratory that researches cryonics, the real-world science of attempting to preserve life in suspended animation through prolonged freezing technology. As luck would have it, Fry accidentally stumbles into a cryogenic freezer tube and is frozen for a thousand years. Upon emerging, he quickly realizes that he has been given a second chance at life and sets out to see and learn about all of the bizarre aliens and wondorous technology the Earth now has to …show more content…
During his first day in the future, Fry quickly makes friends with his future love interest, the one-eyed alien Turanga Leela, as well as the devious, foul-mouthed bending robot aptly named Bender. Employed by the interplanetary package delivery company Planet Express, the trio venture to many world and always manage to find themselves entangled in futuristic hijinks. The motley characters play off each other's wildly contrasting personalities to create humorous situations. Fry's ineptitude and laziness as well as Bender's brazen thievery and ego often land the crew in trouble, and Leela's well-meant but overbearing meddling tends to make matters worse. Like most sitcoms however, the team somehow always manages to return things to the status quo by the end of the episode. The show is well known for referencing, exploring, and parodying common science fiction tropes and concepts while simultaneously functioning as an work-based sitcom mirroring modern
Rewinding back to the 1950’s, I Love Lucy was one of the most popular sitcoms on television. There were two main characters and they happen to be married. Her husband claims that she has no talent and she would be better off staying at home to be a housewife. Throughout the show, Lucy finds herself getting into trouble as she often tries to perform at Tropicana, the place in which Ricky works.
Analysis of Friday Night Lights Friday Night Lights is a good view of how football envelops the live of everyone in the Texas town of Odessa. While it does use football as a main theme, I don't believe it is a book mainly about sports. The story is mostly about the people in a town that has nothing to look forward to except football. The story chronicles the lives of a few players and their parents. The author describes their background, characteristics, and reactions to football and life

Throughout If Beale Street Could Talk by James Baldwin the main characters have to overcome the challenges of racism, and the traits that go hand and hand with it, justice and prejudice, to realize what they actually needed was the family love they already had. Even though there are many romantic and even some graphic passages in the book, Baldwin mainly focuses on how they had to come together as a family when Alonzo (Fonny) was in jail and awaiting trial. If Beale Street Could Talk is essentially a story about the human capacity to love.
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (1960-1996) first aired on NBC in (IMDB). This show focuses on a wealthy Californian family who takes in their street-smart relative from West Philadelphia. Their idea is to make him a mature and responsible young man but things don’t go as smooth as planned. Will Smith changes the serenity of the upscale environment with his streetwise common sense. A typical show contains some sort of cultural clash between Will, his uncle Phil and society itself. Learning how to transition from being in a rough neighborhood to being around people who have a lot of money can be hard for anybody and there are many things one has to get used to with this transition. Even though Will becomes part of an affluent family he must still cope with everyday problems and situations.
In an interview regarding the then planned to be last season of The Boondocks, McGruder said “If this is to be the last season of The Boondocks we need to be working to develop space for more public criticism of our horrific conditions.” People have speculated about McGruder’s reasoning for taking his immensely popular comic strip to the airwaves, especially in the form of an animated series on Cartoon Network. However the reasoning as to why is inconsequential compared to the effects. The Boondocks as a cartoon series reached a much broader audience and with this stage McGruder could push the envelope of animation satire. It was not the first time that animation was used to make satirical commentary, for example shows like Family Guy and South Park had long been using animation to make social commentary. However, The Boondocks was unique in it’s tackling of contentious issues. Cartoons rely on the suspension of disbelief. Gary Larson, the cartoonist behind The Far Side, said “he found it amusing when his readers complained that he had portrayed a male mosquito sucking blood (only females such blood), but no one took issue with the fact that the mosquito was wearing clothes and could

Rod Serling’s The Twilight Zone, reflected the time it was created and the years that followed. Showcasing the not so black and white version of humanity and all that it entailed. Touching on the effects of the Cold War and the insecurities it brought to American society. Through this outlet in television, he was allowed to express his thoughts on the outlook that people were too afraid to speak about, lest being called out as a traitor or a communist. Almost, blatantly disagreeing with the McCarthyism if not exposing the idea of how ridiculous it was to question if your neighbor was patriotic or not. Rod brought up the anguish and blatantly obvious scenarios that would precede mutually assured destruction.
The adventures and often misadventures of this grandson and grandpa duo along with their family members are a delight and often downright absurd to watch. There are moments of preposterous incidents that'll leave with a stupefied expression and then immediately sent you off into fits of laughter. It is a highly entertaining show, where their exploits cross over multiple universes and dimensions and often end up interacting with beings from another world, trying to catapult the series into the fringes of possible realms within comprehension. But it has the titular characters sharing a close bond while simultaneously possessing eccentric personalities to keep us intrigued; the other characters of the
Freaks and Geeks is a show about the relationships between the so called “freaks” of high school and the “geeks.” The show tries to show that the two groups are very different yet the same in many ways. Does the series premiere of this show reflect these ideologies?
South Park - it either makes you cringe or grin ear to ear. The latter will most likely be the result for the millennial crowd. With the show closing in on two decades it remains as strong and relevant as it was in 1997. However, it isn't entirely without fault given the amount of time Matt and Trey shrewdly concoct an episode. The one week deadline has on very rare occasions diminished the core viewers expectation. But more often what usually follows are extremely memorable moments that wrapped the remaining season in comedic gold. Even when the internet naysayers give their untimely goodbyes to the show at any point in its existence it still manages to be head and shoulders above anything else in the genre (such a thing?). The show has earned
