I thrive in smaller, yet motivated, environments where I am given the opportunity to reach my full potential, which is why I believe TCU would be a perfect fit for me. I am excited by the reputation of passionate and dedicated professors at TCU. I know that my professors at TCU will give their full attention to me and support me whether it be academically or in everyday life. Additionally, I find the TCU spirit captivating. I hope to try out for the TCU Show Girls if I have the honor of becoming a TCU Horned Frog.
I chose to attend West Hills College so that I will be close to home. A small college will be great because I believe it will continue to provide a strong sense of community. The aspect of a strong sense of community will work best because it offers a better opportunity of interacting with your college peer. Attending a small college come with many positive outcomes. One of the many positive outcomes it has is that you have the privilege to interact more with the instructor and the students that are in the class. Furthermore being enrolled in a community college for instance West Hills College Coalinga gives you the privilege of making friends. Going into a smaller campus helps students get to their class faster without an exception of getting
In Freeman Hrabowski’s piece, “Colleges Prepare People for Life,” he mentions the differing opinions between going to college and choosing another path. Many people find college too expensive, and once a student graduates, he or she will face enormous debt and potentially risk still being unprepared for the working world. Hrabowski acknowledges this, and also notices that many students who do attend college occasionally make the wrong decision in terms of choosing a school and major. But while the stakes are high, he argues that college not only provides financial stability, but also allows students to become more virtuous citizens in the long run. He does this by providing information to backup his claims, using a passionate tone to explain his beliefs, and paralleling college attendance with good intentions.
Emory offered me something no other school I was accepted to could; it allowed me to study finance and film. Emory also has the perfect location. It is in Atlanta, where many movies are being filmed due to the tax credits in Georgia. This makes getting a job or internship easier. My grandparents and cousins also live in Dunwoody, 25 minutes from campus. This made me feel better about leaving home as I knew there would be people close by if I ever felt homesick. Emory is also the perfect size campus for me. It is large enough to feel like a college not a high school, but small enough to get around campus by just walking. Once here, I discovered you always run into someone you know on campus no matter where you go.
Even though I had my heart set on Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, I decided that there would be many benefits to starting to off at a community college. I chose Lake Land College to further my education based on three important aspects of my life. Like many other students it has been cost efficient, it allows me to be close to my family, and I was able to keep my job as a hairstylist.
In life some students does not know which college to choose. Some of their questions are, “Maybe I should choose this college because it is cheaper and closer to home” or “Maybe I should go to this college because it is great, expensive, and there’s a lot of fine people there. If it would me in this situation, I would chose the college that is cheaper and closer to home. This is the reason I chosed Ogeechee Tech over Southeastern Tech.
I think the most important point is that the Ohio State has a very good academic reputation, which is very attractive. In my opinion, the most essential motivation, which drives people to enter college, is the willingness of study as well as obtaining a bachelor degree in whatever area they interested. And when people are willing to study in a university, they would pretty much likely to attend a university, which has an excellent reputation on research and education.
I chose NDSU because I feel like I was pretty well acquainted with the campus during my time in high school. Each summer, for FFA, my chapter, along with others from across the state, spent a week here competing in different agricultural competitions. Also, I talked with alumni from this nursing program, and they all said it was set up very well, and also put them on a track to getting a good job afterwards. When I came for a tour earlier this spring, I got to hear a speech from the Dean of nursing, and I just sort of felt like this was the right place. On a side note, I like being here because of the agricultural side of NDSU as well, even if I’m not necessarily going into a field pertaining to it. It seems more like home to me, when the person next to me, going into Vet Tech, rides horse as much as I did.
One thing I needed in my college of choice was that it had to be small because I knew I would be able to focus better. My first choice, Towson University, was a large school and all my friends currently go there, but God, and my perspicacious mother, clearly knew I should not go there because of the countless distractions that would have hindered my success. The small atmosphere of Catawba enabled them to have a family style relationship all around campus. I am used to this family style because it reminded me of my high school. Another reason I chose to enroll at Catawba was because of its six hour distance away from my home known as the DMV, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia, area. I have been in that area all my life and living somewhere else for I think would be greatly beneficial to my development as a person and would broaden my perspective. The other aspect of moving away from where you have been all your life is that you have to leave behind all your family and friends and that is one of the hardest parts. However, you will have a newfound appreciation for them that
I choose to attend the University of Florida for the culture of community that exists on the campus. The University of Florida has always been a school that wants its students to succeed, but what is the most interesting aspect is that the students push each other together to achieve their goals. We live in a society where it is a "Man vs Man" world and that only one can succeed. Here at the University of Florida, we challenge those social norms and try to create a pathway that fits for everyone. Here, we just don't have dreams, because as gators, we make those dreams plans and those plans into reality. Being able to accomplish or do something that makes your life fulfilling is what made me want to come to the University of Florida and continue to give back to the place that gave me the chance to improve myself and help others improve too.
The main reason I see UCF as one of the best colleges for myself is the campus’s distance away from my home. The UCF campus is within driving distance of where I currently live, allowing me to live in the same house while I attend all my classes each day. Reputation has also always been important to me when looking for a college. If a place does not have a good reputation, I do not see much reason to give it a chance. However, UCF is known as one of the biggest colleges in the US and one of the most successful. I also had two friends attend UCF, one for the exact same major as I plan to go for and one that took a very similar major. Both of them have highly recommended UCF for the major I wish to take. Though having this kind of reputation is nice, I was told multiple times to visit the campus myself because not every college is made for everyone. So, I took a tour of UCF on a school sponsored trip and found everything I had heard to be true. The campus was beautiful and the staff were all very kind. After spending the day on the campus I knew this college, after everything I had heard and where it was located, was the one I wanted to
After highschool I intend on attending college. I’m interested in the University of Tulsa (TU) and Tulsa Community College (TCC) as viable options for my college career. These colleges interest me because of their location, financial options, and academics. TU offers excellent engineering programs which is one reason I am leaning towards TU. On the other hand, TCC has the right price.
The main reason is it’s location, it's in the same state I live in so tuition is lower and it's not a far trip away from home. Another reason is the track record for the school it has one of the highest veterinarian programs in the country. The school has all the right tools to help become the best veterinarian.
When you are a senior in high school, your first few months of school are spent taking standardized test and choosing what colleges you will apply to. The decision of selecting a college that you will spend four consecutive years at furthering your education, and getting ready for the real world, is a decision that takes a lot of thought. When we look into Universities we not only look at them at an academic standpoint, but we also look at what a school has to offer that will make us feel as if we belong there, and that it is somewhere we can call home. A lot of students choose to attend Southern Universities because of all the wonderful things they have to offer, and because of the family orientated vibe that they give off.
What I mean by that is I don’t want to feel stressed or overwhelmed. I do not want to think of my classes as boring or unnecessary to go to. I really want to enjoy it, have fun, make memories with new people, and be able to have a good academic experience with the studies I choose. I chose Angelo State University because I believe it will fit all of my needs. For starters, it’s relatively close to home. I’m an only child, so going far away from my parents is something I absolutely do not want to do. From my research and interviews, I presume it has the perfect college for me due to it being affordable, close to Fort Stockton, I’ll be able to have fun with all of the student activities it has, and most importantly, ASU will fit my academic needs and help me with my future of becoming a Mechanical
