I think this tool is a great for assisting in writing assignment or any type of writing. It scanned the assignment quickly and showed me all the errors that need to be corrected within a few seconds. Setting up an account and using it was quick and very simple. I did not encounter any problems. I used internet explorer to set up my account but had to use Chrome to sign in and to actually use the tool. The installation and functionality of the tool were a breeze, and I would most definitely use it in the future.

What type of writing errors were most frequent (spelling? Grammar? Word usage?)?
After uploading my original writing assignment to Grammarly, I noticed a few grammar and word usage errors. According to this tool, I had 32 critical and advance issues in my original writing. The word intelligences (multiple intelligences) was counted several times as being misspelled. There were a few subject-verb agreement errors. After correcting the writing assignment and according to the tool, I still had 16 errors. The word intelligences accounted for 15 of the errors and the instructor name, Kargin, was the other error. I am sure the corrected assignment would be easier for someone else to read.
Discuss how instructional coaching tools, such as Grammarly, might be useful in the classroom or training activity. What other subject matter would lend itself to a one-on-one coaching tool? Describe a brief scenario in which your coaching tool idea might be
Robby wrote, coaching might mean many things to various people, as it is a word defined according to human behaviors applied to a particular setting. It is this reader’s belief his statement is true according one’s study. Robby stated, a definition proves to be difficult to quantify into meaning for every context and situation, in which, after this reader’s careful study on the subject matter, many definitions and characteristics of coaching were found. In addition to the writer’s descriptors used for coaching, which included: personal communication, relationship, passing on of wisdom and understanding, guidance, exemplification, motivation and confidence boosting, trust, sharing, and asking good questions, this reader found others that were relative as well. This reader concur with Robby’s findings in the required books of Edgar Schein, who stated, that coaching and feedback are necessary in order for learners to learn; James Rost, who suggested, that personal relationship based on multidirectional and noncoercive influence which
It never hurts to have someone look over your work or double check you, this goes for grammar and spelling. I have in the past used Grammarly, I usually just use spell check, but after taking the grammar quiz and watching the videos I can say it would never hurt to go back to Grammarly or to try Purdue Owl. I love these websites, because even though I think my grammar is acceptable, sometimes I learn that I'm actually making mistakes and how I can avoid them. I also love that it teaches me other ways to write other than how I currently
I always thought I was pretty good at writing but not so good at math. The assessment showed me that math was a strength of mine whereas writing was an area I need to work on. The assessment also revealed that time was a minor concern for me as is asking for help and persistence. I do have a bit of difficulty asking for help but I’m working on that. I feel confident that I can contact my advisor at any time for guidance as well as ask our instructor for this class, Nicole, for help when needed. And quite honestly, I don’t feel like we are ever strong enough in any particular area whether it be school, work or life where we don’t need support and continuous learning. Fortunately for us, SNHU provides excellent resources for us to access virtually any time we need them in addition to our academic advisors and instructors. Writing is a weakness for me; therefore, I plan to use the SNHU Library for assistance. The library offers resources such as “resource guides” and “citing your sources guide, both of which are going to be extremely helpful going forward. Outside of SNHU, the assessment recommended Grammarly. Instead of Grammarly, I plan to use paperrater.com. Grammarly isn’t a free service even though the website states it is; consequently paperrater.com is going to be my go to online source for assisting in editing my papers, posts, etc. Another SNHU resource I see myself using the
Welcome to WritePoint, the automated review system that recognizes errors most commonly made by university students in academic essays. The system embeds comments into your paper and suggests possible changes in grammar and style. Please evaluate each comment carefully to ensure that the suggested change is appropriate for your paper, but remember that your instructor's preferences for style and format prevail. You will also need to review your own citations and references since WritePoint capability in this area is limited. Thank you for using WritePoint.
Until a certain point, the model is effective for writers. It is a practical, easy template that allows a writer to quickly set up and then write an essay,
The first of these services available in the Center for Writing Excellence is Write Point. This program allows me to submit my papers for review before I turn them in. During this review the program provides feedback on basic grammar usage and also provides suggestions on how to make the writing better. This is a wonderful tool for someone who has weak grammar skills.
Coaching is a useful way to develop people’s skills and abilities, and of boosting performance. It can also help deal with issues and challenges before they become major problems. Coaching typically begins with a personal interview with the employee to assess the situation, review current opportunities and challenges. After the interview, priorities for action are established along with specific desired outcomes. Individuals may also be asked to complete specific action items in a certain period of time that support the achievement of desired goals. Resources may also be provided such as articles, checklists and assessments.
Grammarly and Safe Assign were two writing resources used this week are two online writing aids that I had never used prior to entering Walden. I learned about Grammarly while completing the online orientation and have used it ever since. However, since downloading it from the site it has been a little annoying when I try to use a word document for things like my grocery list because it wants me to correct all my abbreviations. In spite of this, I find it to be a great resource. Safe Assign is similar to Turn it in, which I have used in the past, I find using
I agree, Smartthinking is a remarkable online resource and learning tool. Like you, I struggle with writing, specifically with grammar and, subsequently, I would make numerous trips to the campus writing center or ask a friend to critique my paper. This became difficult, as the hours never fit my work schedule, or I received mediocre feedback. Therefore, I relied on Paperrater.com, which is another useful tool. Having 24-hour access to a skilled tutor is a worthwhile service that I know will improve my writing
Describe the usefulness of the Grammarly tool/ Yes, my writing improved, and yes, I wish I knew how to use Grammarly tool in my other classes I took. I will use Grammarly tool to proofread my hold paper for sure cause it point out what I do wrong.
Smarthinking and Paperrater.com are tremendous assets to college students. These websites offer guidance on improving writing techniques. Within Smarthinking, the student has the option to choose what areas of evaluation are needed such as: a thesis statement, introduction/conclusion, grammar, and several other options (Smarthinking.com, 2107). Even though Paperrter.com does not allow students to choose specific areas of evaluation, it is just as beneficial as Smarthinking by providing feedback on spelling mistakes, grammatical errors, sentence styles, and vocabulary suggestions (Paperrater.com, 2017).
It took me 20 years before I decided to go back to school, but it is not that bad. I only have two more courses before I complete my bachelor in Healthcare Administration. I have a wait before I complete the final courses, so I thought this would be a way to take advantage of some of the workshops I did not have time during my program. I know for Healthcare Administration you will have a lot of papers to write, so take advantage of this workshop, it will be helpful down the line. Although, the UOP have helpful tool called Grammarly where it assist with finding grammar and punctuation errors, I would recommend to proofread a few times before submitting your paper because Grammarly cannot catch all

I too was a hurry to get it done, and then turn it in at the last minute person in undergraduate school. Having the resources available that we have now would have been a benefit to me. That was a few years ago, and this time, I am ahead of schedule and proofreading. Grammarly has been helpful especially since I am getting back into the school mentality. My percentages started off not so great, but I catch myself on some grammar rules now. It alerts me when I have used past tense, at that is probably my biggest struggle. There is also a plagiarism function on Grammarly. Did you try that too? It was pretty close to the Turnitin results when I compared the two.
Throughout the semester, I have gained skills necessary for understanding and utilizing logic while writing. I am now aware that for any writing to be scholarly, it must possess an introductory section, a body and a conclusion section. Further, I am now able to understand as well as utilize most of the basic techniques useful in pre-writing, revision and editing. Through writing the “downloading from torrents” paper, I acquired skills in word processing, sentence elements, and punctuation. Further, I developed some special skills in writing a website analysis which is a critical aspect in contemporary learning as argued by Flateby (p 182). As the semester folds, I believe that I have gained the prerequisite skills in writing and critical thinking. However, I need to improve much on some of the common problems in writing that seems to disturb me especially grammar.
