Welcome to the ‘Graduate Certificate in Spanish Language Teaching to Adults: Module 1’. It is designed to give you a basic training in how to teach Spanish to adult learners.
The course has run successfully for many years at the Instituto Cervantes, and is now accredited by the University of Roehampton. It is taught by a team of teacher-trainers with a great deal of classroom experience in teaching foreign languages, and who want to pass on their expertise, knowledge and skills to you!

It is expected that these guided study hours will be matched by the same quantity of self-study. So in other words we are expecting students to put in at least 40 hours of study and preparation in their own time, in order to get the most out of the module.

The Adult Language Learner and The Role of a Language Teacher
Methods & Approaches in Language Teaching /Learning
Delivering Effective Sessions, and practicalities of the classroom
Analysis of published MFL teaching materials
Cross-cultural aspects of language teaching/learning
Teaching Speaking and Listening Skills
Teaching Reading and Writing Skills
Exploiting Teaching/Learning Materials, including internet resources and e-learning
Assessing adult language-learners
Guided Observation of a Language Class
