Gaming Tiers are the Lowest
My brother introduced me to videogames when I was four and I have been playing ever since. The game, Super Smash Bros., was both my first game and my favorite game, and it still is to this day. Super Smash Bros is a unique fighting series with popular Nintendo characters as fighters. The characters I play are Ganondorf, Roy, Rosalina & Luma, Wii-Fit Trainer, Jigglypuff, Mr. Game & Watch, just to name a few. You could say I’m a bit of a gamer.
While practicing this game with my brother, he introduced me to tier lists. A tier list is a list that depicts character by “best” or “worst”. Depicting how good or bad a character is from someone playing them a certain way is my biggest pet peeve in the gaming scene. My point

My play style is to pick a melee character, preferably the wise old sage type character, and charge into difficult situations that are seemingly impossible to survive. Of course, I was berated for my play style, but my point is that it works and I am having fun doing it. The great thing about my main character, Ganondorf, is that he is known as the worst character in the game. He was considered so bad that he got his own tier… Ganon Tier. The only people that have beaten my Ganondorf gameplay have been my brother and a select few thus far, but definitely not every round. Not by a long shot. Over the years I have left multiple people in awe after they’ve seen how quickly I’ve taken all four stocks (amount of lives left) away from them. Every time I hear someone berating a character or a person for using a character I challenge him or her to a 1 versus 1. Obviously, I would play Ganondorf from the Ganon Tier and prove to them mechanical skill is actually a part of gaming.
Tier lists are my greatest pet peeve in gaming because telling someone a set way to play a game is not only boring, it destroys the diversity of the game. I had to try to convince others to understand that tier lists in gaming should not be followed as if it were the law. There is more than one way to play a game and have fun. I do not want to see others following the opinions of others as blindly as some do with tier lists. I would definitely keep
This is one of the most influential games of the worlds, whether it be the iconic mascot, or even the colorful ghosts.Super Mario Bros is another wildly popular game, which started in Japan by Nintendo, but then spread like wildfire, once it hit North America on May 15th 1987. This is when the major plot of their game series actually started, when Mario (and if you play 2-player Luigi,) go through Mushroom Kingdom in order to rescue Princess Peach from Bowser. Although this game has been out since the late eighties, it has sold 40 million copies, has numerous spin-offs and special editions, and is known as the best game to win peoples hearts.Tetris is a truly authentic game that everyone knows and loves. Being designed in Russia, by a programmer named Alexey Pajitnov, this was one of the first games released by the USSR into America. This is one of the few games that you can find on multi-platforms, such as gaming systems, phones, and even calculators. This game has a mind boggling amount of sales, with over 170 million
I believe that video games are an important, often amazing, under-appreciated cultural form that is slowly becoming a mainstream interest. I grew up with video games. Pokémon, Mario kart, and even Crash Bandicoot (About to make a comeback). I loved playing them because I find them genuinely interesting.
Now I want to be clear, though this scale i've created can be indicative of quality. It isn't necessarily indicative of
* Can I get a show of hands of anyone who has ever played a video game before or watched someone play one? All of you, I know I have? Video games are a huge entertainment activity for people of all ages.
A checklist can be used either on a regular basis or as and when difficult issues have been dealt with. This checklist can be used to monitor approach, effect the approach had. An honest assessment requires honest reflection.
Character archetypes are present in almost all fairytales, fables, novels, poems, and folktales. An archetype is a character or situation that repeats universally throughout stories. In Perseus, King Acrisius learns that his daughter, Danae, is going to have a son that will kill him. He fears what the gods will do to him if he kills his daughter, so he imprisons Danae.
The video game that popularized video games, Super Mario Bros. The man that designed that game back in 1985 was Shigeru Miyamoto. A living legend in the world of video games. He created a number of Nintendo biggest franchises. Super Mario Bros., Donkey Kong, Star Fox, and The Legend of Zelda are just a few of the games he has helped to create.
After that I started playing games a lot more often. I liked games from Nintendo like Mario, and Zelda. But after I learned what KingdomHearts was like, I started to play different games. Like GTA, and Shadow The Hedgehog. So basically more fighting. But
Gawande overall, states the importance of using a checklist in his book The Checklist Manifesto connecting to the problem of extreme complexity. In this modern world complexity can hit hard and danger patients for example, the medical field. Medicine becomes complex as there can be ways on how medicine is prepared or when it needs to be used. Handling complexity brings up a solution that splits up tasks and gives the tasks to different specialties. However as mention in The Checklist Manifesto, “But even divided up, the work can become over whelming (Gawande 20). This can get worst as team work and communication can be disrupted. The different specialists might be seen as a hierarchy which can worsen communication to the point where a doctor doesn’t follow a nurse’s suggestion for the idea that a doctor knows what they are doing.
In the medieval story of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, we are introduced to a young man, who, like many of young men, is trying to discover himself and travel through his rite of passage. He is trying to figure out who he is in life, and while in his journey, passes through many phases that mold him into one of the great Knights of the Round Table that old King Arthur wanted to serve with him. These phases affect everyone at some point in their lives. Whether it causes someone to take an iconoclastic stand against a certain more or folkway or if it enables a person to give serious thought to what life could mean, archetypes enable any protagonist
Consider Kahneman, Lovallo, and Sibony's 12-question checklist and Campbell, Whitehead and Finkelstein's red flags. Which is the more effective for identifying and minimizing bias in decision making? Why?
To have value, a system should maximize the accuracy with which people rate performance, and minimize bias.
Credibility: Who remembers Super Mario brothers? According to Guinness Record, Super Mario Bros is Nintendo’s best-selling game. My experience with video games growing up is that I remember playing Super Mario and Tetris with my cousins. Every time I played, I felt an adrenaline rush due to the excitement, so, I became competitive, and was always looking for a challenge. We would stay up late whenever we get can our gaming in, while our parents were asleep. I even fought with my cousins for hogging up the controllers, but in the long run, I learned to be patient and strategize against other players such as my cousins.
Before I start describing my lists, I want to comment on what form your lists can take. I prefer written lists - they work well with my paper planner and I like the hand to brain connection of writing things down. You may prefer
The next type of game is sports titles, which are probably the most popular for a group of people, rather than the individual gamer. Sports titles cover everything from football and baseball to golf and auto racing. These games are equally enjoyed by both players who are or were jocks, and for those who wish they were. A person learns the mechanics and intricacies, giving them a greater appreciation for the game overall. Sometimes the video game can create a fan of a sport where none existed before.
