Gandhi and Malala are similar and different in many ways. Gandhi is an Indian activist that fought for the freedom of India. Malala is a Pashtun that fights for the right to an education for girls. Both activists fight for equal rights for their people. Because of Gandhi's work, India was freed for British control. as a result of Malala getting shot, she showed the world that girls are worthy of an education as well. Malala and Gandhi are both activists, however, there are some similarities and differences such as; Malala was a young girl while Gandhi is a man, Malala fights for education rights for girls but Gandhi fought for India's freedom, however, they were both activists fighting for equality for their people.

There are many similarities between Malala and Gandhi but there are some differences. Malala fights for education rights for girls, but Gandhi fought for India's freedom. In 1915 when Gandhi returned to India from South Africa, he devoted himself to prayer, fasting, and meditation, he later became known as "Mahatma". Which means "great soul". The cultures from where Malala and Gandhi are from aren't very different, they both view women as 'lower' than men. Most would listen to Gandhi since he is a man instead of Malala. As a result, since Malala spoke out against political superiors, she got shot. She used that event to draw awareness to the issue with girls and not being allowed to have an education.
