I would love to attend Wake STEM Early College High School because I believe it will give me a head start on my learning after the high school level. Your program will improve my college experience and save thousands of dollars in college tuition by giving me an associates degree and high school diploma upon graduation. Leadership is being able to guide other students into being the best they can be. I am a leader who is always positive and cheering others on to achieve their goals. At my school, I have a position as the Vice President of Academics in National Honors Society. Since I have obtained this position, I encourage other students in this group to participate in service projects which is where one volunteers to help out the community in some aspect. These volunteering opportunities are good thing to do because it builds character and it is always fun helping others out. As a leader, I bring new ideas to the table on where we should help out in the community and anything that we could do in school that would fun and helpful. Along with participating in National Honors Society at my school, I am also involved in our Student Government Association. Although I do not have a leadership position in this club, I still engage in the activities that we do. For the past two years, I have gone to an annual meeting for leadership where multiple schools attend. To begin, I exhibit qualities of a great leader. Firstly, at my Saturday morning bowling league, I am positioned as the anchor, which means I am expected to lead my team to victory.. Leadership comes with great responsibility, I personally have never experience being a leader. A leader is someone who possesses the qualities to both set examples and work well with others while at the same time having enthusiasm with fair judgment that is presented in a positive manner. Being the oldest sibling in my family and oldest of seven cousins has helped me develop these traits that a good leader possesses. in the activities I participate in such as helping instruct during youth baseball and basketball camps. I am willing to grow more and lead as I grow older. Becoming a member of the National Honor Society would allow me to develop important leadership skills that would benefit me later in life. I aim to be a leader and to use my knowledge to advance the causes of the organization.

Leadership is very important to me. I am the captain of my school's cross-country team, and was the recipient of the leadership award. My coach gave me this position based on my leadership qualities. When my team is going through a rough practice, it is my job to push them forward and help them find their motivation. What makes me a leader? In class, I enjoy helping other students with the work they are struggling with to guide them in their work. Also, I try to include many others in the way I want to change or exceed something at Whitford, to see different opinions and what the majority of the students really care about. Although I only count as one, my outgoing, yet easygoing personality really helps me lead at Whitford, and will hopefully at Beaverton as well. I'm not the student who sits in class and doesn't talk for 90 minutes, although I do my work efficiently and to the best of my ability. Talking is helpful to me so that I can ask my peers for help, as well as their opinion on something class related. I try my hardest to achieve my goals, as well as pushing myself harder every day. Before anyone can become a good leader, they have to be able lead themselves in whatever area they want to lead in and I feel like I am a perfect example of that. Not everything comes easy for me, so I have had to learn to have good time management, self-discipline, and perseverance. These traits have helped me in my school work, athletics and in leadership in the community.
