Last year, at Kingsland High School’s Graduation Ceremony, Josie Hinze not only receiveed her High School Diploma, but also her Associates of Arts Degree before even attending any college or university. Fast-forward to one year later, and seven Kingsland students will be graduating high school with both their High School Diploma and AA Degree thanks to the collaboration of Riverland Community College and Kingsland High School for allowing high school students to take college-level courses in high school and receive college credit for them. Not only that, but there are several others who will be graduating Kingsland High School with transferrable college credit so their first few semesters might

Saegertown has a new sheriff in town, and his name is Mr. Brian Lipps. On Friday, Dec. 16, Mr. Lipps was announced as the new Dean of Students for Saegertown High School, and his first day was Monday, Dec 19. It is expected that Mr. Lipps will officially be announced at the next board meeting on Jan.12. Most students have already noticed his presence. “It’s different. They [students] are more aware they can get into trouble and have to follow the rules more so they will behave,” said freshman Meadow Campbell.
Bismarck Middle School received an excellent science teacher this year, Mrs. Bradshaw. Growing up a in small town, Vandervoort, she attended school at Van-Cove. Van-Cove was a mixture of two towns (Cove and Vandervoort); however, Van-Cove no longer exists. The biggest difference from then and now Mrs. Bradshaw suggests is the evolvement of cell phone and social media. Mrs. Bradshaw completed her undergraduate degrees in Athletic Training Biology from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia,AR. Mrs. Bradshaw has a Masters of Arts in Teaching from University of Central Arkansas in Conway, AR, and is currently completing her second master's degree- Library Media Information Specialist from Southern Arkansas University. Mrs. Bradshaw has a husband,
Sherwood Middle School’s students as well as parents were shocked at the news that Sherwood Middle School was hiring a new vice principal in place of Kevin McIntosh. The new vice principal’s name is Marc Jolley. The reason Mr.Jolley is here is because recently, Mr.McIntosh had made the choice to leave the Sherwood school district. While many students are untroubled and rather pleased with the new change, others are wondering if it was the right decision to hire Mr.Jolley.
I am applying for $500 to begin various clubs for Landmark Elementary School. I would like to begin various clubs in my practicum school, such as a Lego Club, a Board Games Club, a craft club, and a crochet club. During the cold winter months, when the temperature gets very cold, often times children cannot go outside to play during recess and lunch hour. Many of the children have expressed interest in beginning clubs that each child could sign up for. During the cold days, when children cannot go outside, the children who have signed up for the clubs have an activity to do that allows them a time to get a break from their studies. The program gives children a chance to get involved in the school, and students a place where they feel they might belong and thrive. Help the students to learn valuable skills while allowing children a chance to explore various different interests. Participation in a supervised constructive activity limits the time that is available
I write to inform you of my decision to resign from the position Additional Assistant, at Oakleigh Elementary School, effective, October 2, 2017, to pursue other career opportunities within the Baltimore County Public Schools System.
Another question I have for proposers of a uniform policy is that does Lisgar Middle School really need a uniform policy. Uniform policies are usually enforced on lower income communities. As far as I know Lisgar don’t have trouble with academics, attendance, crime, behavioral issues and substance abuse on school grounds. I don’t understand why Lisgar would need a uniform policy due to that reason. It would simply be a waste of time to create a uniform policy that would have little to no positive effects on the school community
I agree with you that change does not come easy and will take plenty of positive motivation. Data can be disturbing and scary at times. Like Kim, I have to ask the question, who is listening and what can be done to change this trend?

Staff, teachers, and school personnel lack the ability to determine a diagnosis of a child having ADHD or giftedness. Staff have less training on this subject which causes work in the classroom to become more difficult. Increased activity, lack of attention span, difficulty completing certain tasks, and response to questions decrease are just a few forms teacher may signal from students in their classroom. Teachers are to watch their students closely to see if the students attention fade where they may need to refer the student. ADHD is not uncommon of a misdiagnosis that may be cause by other conditions from the classroom to the home environment. Attention spans are where teachers can see there is a potential issue with the particular
