The Latin America region is south of North America on the world map. This region was once filled with countries that were at one point colonialized by European countries, but these countries are now independent. The Latin American region consists of mainly the South America continent, Central America, and Mexico. Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Costa Rica, Chile, and many other countries make up this region. One thing that many people do not know is that Puerto Rico is an American territory and its inhabitants are United States citizens. The Latin American region does not offer the best economic situations, but it does have many other aspects to it.
Costa Rica, a country of Central America, covers an area of 19,730 square miles. The capital is San José. The physical geography of Latin America and the Caribbean greatly affect where people live by making some places are more desirable than others. One examples is the Panama Canal, which is runs across the Panama Isthmus in Central America. The Panama Canal is a large man-made canal, that connects the two largest bodies of water in the world. People live very closely to the Panama Canal, meaning it has a high population density there and in the surrounding areas. The population around the canal is 250-1,249 people per square mile. People tend to live near this feature because the canal and water provide so many valuable assets, such as sea animals for marine jobs, boats for repairmen and traders, transportation, tourism, swimming, and many more.

The situation in Panama in 1989 had been the result of a vacillating sense of national pride at odds with an eighty year old American imperialist presence. Panama had been the bearer of imperialist tensions since the turn of the century solely because of its strategic location and possible economic advantages that such a location would yield. Panama is a country that occupies the isthmus dividing North and South America. With its passage way saving sea-farers 5,000 miles of additional sailing around the tip of Tierra del Fuego, it is no wonder that Panama had been so highly sought out, and so strictly guarded.

The Southern pacific is covered in marshy lowlands. Some of the Andes Mountains run into Colombia. The southern sector of Colombia runs through the Equator. Colombia’s Amazon Region is located in the Southern Hemisphere.

That’s why Panama is the most stable country among Latin America because Panama has kapt its annual inflation rate under two percent for almost 40 years. Further, dollarization eliminates any currency exange risks to foreign companies.
