The civilization of Running Hills is located on the west end xcc river. We haxve many jobs in Running hils , mostly farming, minning and school teachers. Runningvill had a very good government, they were a dynasty and had a very good management system. There queen was Iron lady Halley and there king was Rocky Balboa. They created their very own writing system, by making paper and ink by melting gold. There are only 2 social classes in this civilization. First is the king and queen. Second is everyone besides the slaves, and on the bottom is the slaves.
The river valley civilizations of Sumer, Egypt, India, and China were historical pillars of innovation. Not only were they each responsible for having forged new technological innovations, but they each created their own system of writing as well. Each of them meets the requirements of being labeled as a “civilization” because each had a form of social organization, trade and economic activity, government, division of labor, and some form of record keeping. What sets them apart from one another are the specifics within the similarities they shared. These similarities and differences within their technological innovations and writing are numerous.
Based on English traditions, the Southern Colonies' social structure was determined by a person's lineage and wealth. On top of the structure, there were many wealthy English families, clergymen, judges, and people who owned large amounts of land; these people were able to control the workers due to their powerful status. Under the powerful people was the largest social class in the colonies; many merchants, vendors, and farmers were on this level. Although they weren't of a more powerful status such as the clergymen and judges, they were still very educated, hardworking, and skilled. These people may not have had power, but they were not treated as badly as the indentured servants and Africans. Many people struggled on these lower levels.
When discussing the Jesuit values in his article “From the Mountain to the Hilltop”, Fr. Larry Gillick, S.J., states that “there is much darkness in the world, but it is better to light one candle than to curse the dark”. Gillick is discussing the Jesuit value of Forming and Educating Agents for Change. It’s better to be a light for just one person, make the world a better place for just one person, then continuing in the darkness and the chaos. According to this Jesuit value, the world, a school, a town, a life, should be “better” for someone having been there and been educated enough to want to change the culture.
It is amazing how they created a writing system since it helped people talk and just advanced them by making them more educated. For example in document 2 there is a Glyph from the Mayan calendar. It is so cool how they started the calendar and how some of their stone monuments (stelae)
o The Mississippian society had all of the traits of European civilization (urbanization, social stratification, craft specialization, and regional trade) except a writing system.
Around 3500 B.C, the first ancient River Valley Civilizations were formed. The Nile was the first civilization in the River Valley. Egypt, China, and Mesopotamia were three of these civilizations, that contributed crucial things for societies to come.
Many things in the society of Anthem had not been invented or discovered yet. Candles had been just discovered and electricity was not a thought of as of yet. Books were scrolls. Also, there was no running water. All of this was already invented they were just lost during the time of the Great Rebirth. The developments that led to the loss of technology was when during the Great Rebirth, people began teaching the importance of equality and brotherhood. The Great Rebirth was a time in which the society learned that they cannot be equal if they compete to be greater than there brothers. Without competition, the society lost all reason to be better than one another, which led to the lost of the creation of new things. When everyone is equal,
While we are on birding trips, our interests are so widely varied that we never avoid experiences which broaden us culturally. As we left the Atherton Plateau in northern Queensland en route back to Townsville, one of these opportunities became apparent, courtesy of the Rural Women for Culture in the small town of Millaa Millaa.
In comparing and contrasting the societies of Periclean Athens and ancient Egypt, we must first mention some of the characteristics of an actual society: a society has a stable food supply, social levels and classes, specialization of labor, a system of government, and a highly developed culture. Both the societies of ancient Athens and Egypt fit into these parameters. In this essay we will explore social classes, gender relations, social inequality, and hierarchy as they apply to these societies.
Geography had a tremendous impact on early civilizations, the topography of the different regions played a key role in their development and formation. This statement by Fernand Braudel “ Geography is the stage in which humanity’s endless dramas are played out” (Getz et al., Exchanges, 26) is a very moving and telling description. The terrain, whether it is natural or man made is not the end all, be all. It does however affect the stage a great deal. Mountainous areas act as blockades, which keep the societies independent, plains open up the area, and rivers enable everything to move around freely. 2
The majority of the slaves were employed in agricultural areas in the South. By the mid-19th century, a large number of slaves worked in urban areas as well, and about 5% worked in more industrial occupations. The hours of the slave workers were long. The average life expectancy of African slaves was at least 12% lower than whit Americans in 1850 and the infant mortality rate was 25% higher for slaves. Oftentimes slave marriages and families dissolved due to separation. This concept is horrible when you take under consideration that family was the entire basis of African culture.
Ancient river valley civilizations are one of the earliest societies in the world. The rises of these ancient river valley civilizations started the first cradle of civilization. The Indus Valley Civilization, Ancient Egypt, Ancient Mesopotamia, and Ancient China are the earliest civilizations that were successful enough to make enough food for everybody. Every one of these civilizations had three things in common: they all had a special relationship with the river, they created their own writing system, and they all relied on trade.
