Describe the experiences that help George to resist the pressure to participate in negative activities when he was young.
The most important experiences came from his mother. She was raised on a farm, she didn't like public housing, she didn't let them know she struggled financially, and she never acknowledged their accomplishments because she expected them to be successful.
Describe what happened with Sam’s parents when he was eleven years old and what he does to help his mother.
His parents were divorced when he was 11 years old, and he helped her by writing money-orders to pay bills, because his mother couldn't read, reading her mail, and making her deposits.
What was Rameck like in high school and how does he meet George and Sam?
He didn't have his father at home. When he was sixteen, Rameck messed up and went to jail for a month. His mother became more addicted to drugs than ever.
