George Washington John Adams Character Traits

The Adams administration succeeded and failed to solve challenges facing the United States. To begin with, the America did not go to war with France. This decision was largely decided by Adams and his administration. Not only did the countries not go to war but they also made a peace treaty. America was a baby country in the time when America signed a treaty with France.

Thomas Jefferson was the second vice president and the third president of the United States. During his time as president, the Jeffersons were highly successful in achieving their goals. In 1800, the nation had a choice between John Adams and Thomas Jefferson. Federalist feared Jefferson would return power to the states, dismantle thea army and the navy, and overturn Hamilton's’ financial system. The Revolution of 1800, the Louisiana Purchase of 1803, and the success against Barbary Pirates of 1801 to 1805 were all success for the Jeffersons between 1801 and 1809.

George Washington and John Adams were the building blocks of our country. These men were the ones that shaped and built our government and our country. George Washington was a Virginian that became the first president. John Adams became the second president and the first vice-president. These men made major impacts in our countries, and they made both domestic and international accomplishments.

Thomas Jefferson and Geroge Washington played a large role in the stability of the government. George Washington was well respected among the public, which is why he was elected as the first president of America after the U.S. had officially become independent from Britain. Moreover, Thomas Jefferson was also a well-respected leader and believed in economic equality for everyone. Overall they both helped shape America for the better in the ways they led the country throughout their presidency. Washington was a man of character and rarely used force to settle issues.

Jefferson also served the American Union for over 50 years. While he was in office, he wrote the Declaration of Independence, which really boosted his reputation. He is also responsible for providing the inpiration to a country to "Go West, young man," and to acheive the dream of becoming a nation that streched "from sea to shinning sea." He was just all around, a great president.

George Washington should be remembered for being a brave, young man who stepped forward for his country in time of need. As the first President of the United States, he set an example of a true American spirit. He is the father of America and even years after his presidency, still sets examples of inspiration to the country. John Adams should be remembered by his moral leadership, compassion, and careful but strong foreign policies that helped the nation’s aim towards peace (A Comparison of America’s First Presidents). In my belief, I do think both George Washington and John Adams were good presidents.

During Thomas Jefferson’s presidency between 1801 and 1809, Jeffersonians succeeded in achieving many of their goals, even doing so responsibly and moderately. However, Jefferson’s presidency was plagued with national struggles.

Samuel Adams, one of our founding fathers, signee of the the Declaration of independence, and helper of the Boston tea. Samuel is a very respected, honored, and patriotic man in US history.

Alexander Hamilton. A soldier, constitutionalist, reformer and much more. Alexander Hamilton was said to have played a part in virtually every major event that created America. During his time on earth Hamilton had many great accomplishments.Hamilton worked many different jobs but never left the to another until the original was finished. This proved to show that he was an earnest hard working man. He filled many different occupancies and left behind a legacy that no one should forget.

John Adams was many things in his long and illustrious career. He was a lawyer, diplomat, farmer, Vice President and President. He is most well-known for being the second president. He did some good things and some bad things. Although the four years of John Adams’ presidency were quiet and somewhat forgotten, his successes in foreign policy and his control no doubt outweighed his failures in the Sedition Act and with his cabinet, in part to his background and characteristics.

This started the whiskey rebellion. This was first big test for the federal government; would it be able to enforce its own laws? Washington sent out a force of 13,000 militiamen to stop the rebellion. He arrested 150 Pennsylvanians and pardoned 2 people who were sentenced to death. This all ties in with Washington’s domestic policies: he didn’t view himself as better than the people but he still needed to be viewed and respected as a leader. This kept the nation together because it showed that Washington was a strong leader and was able to enforce the laws.

Thomas Jefferson was the third American President. Due to the fact that he was such an early President, he influenced our political system greatly, both in the short and long term with his seemingly quiet approach to congressional matters. During his presidency, many things happened that changed the United States as we know it. He coordinated the Louisiana Purchase, assisted in implementing the twelfth amendment, formed the character of the modern American President, and cut the U.S.’s war debt by a third.

Jefferson accomplished a lot while he was president that affected everyone at this time and even us today. While Jefferson was president, he wrote the Declaration of Independence. It was written to declare the independence the colonies had from Great Britain. He also stated that all men should be created equally and stated that slavery is against our most important rights, life and liberty itself. Jefferson wrote a bill establishing that all virginia schools were to give all children male or female, get three years of teaching in writing, reading arithmetic and history. He also came up with the Louisiana Purchase. It was land deal between the U.S. and France. In order to buy all this land he used Hamilton 's finacial plan, which was a good plan until it provoked the

James Madison, (1751-1836), 4th President of the United States of America. Although he served eight years each as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, as secretary of state, and as president, Madison's principal contribution to the founding of the United States was as "Father of the Constitution."

In my opinion, John Adams was one of the most underrated President’s. Adams served as the second President of the United States of America. He was a representative of of the Federalist party. His party also included people like Alexander Hamilton. John Adams has been seen as taken a timid approach to his Presidency, but he was also seen as taking an arrogant approach. In researching Adams, I read into both sides of the argument historians presented on him, but I still believe that Adam’s work he completed in office should be seen as a positive.
