It was during Washington’s time where the idea of implied powers in the constitution was created. He knew that, as the first president of the U.S, that he was a role model to all the others who followed. That’s why he chose his actions wisely. Legacy: He Established peace with France. John Adams was the father of the American Navy. He understood that if America wanted defend their shores, we needed a navy. He was the first president that added a secretary to the cabinet. Legacy: Thomas Jefferson took the oath of office intending to change the power of presidency and he did accomplish that. Jefferson struggled to reconcile the conflicting crimes of power and liberty, and of slavery and freedom. Legacy: He was the “Father of the Constitution”.
