George Washington's Accomplishments

In the beginning when there was only but a mere 13 colonies, we couldn’t agree on anything. But despite all odds, we fought the most powerful country and developed into a strong nation, known today as The United States of America. It truly couldn’t have been done without 3 first presidents who laid the ground work for our new nation. Those three presidents and there three administrations included the Washington Administrations, Adams Administration, and Jefferson Administration. Though those three were of equal importance, one that stood out among them was the Washington’s Administration, and here was its significance to our nation.

The American Revolution was definitely revolutionary. The people broke free from Britain and gained independence. Only one third of the colonist enthusiastically supported the revolution. The colonist were unhappy and being treated terribly by their motherland and trouble started to brew.

Revolution is a term meaning, a coercive overthrow of government or social order in favor of a new system. Carl N. Degler focuses on the events that occurred before the American Revolution. Before the American Revolution, colonial Americans were already evolving into their own system, without really knowing how great of a gap they were widening between themselves and Britain. America had already experienced multiple revolutions before achieving victory during the Revolutionary War. American colonists grew to be revolutionists that changed the norm for the time period.

George Washington had enormous amounts of failures, but he had achieved great things as well. From being a young boy living in Pope’s Creek, Virginia to becoming the president of the United States. He has faced a lot of hardships and failures. But through all of his hardships throughout his life he has become the greatest president of the United States, George Washington.

On February 22, 1732 Mary Ball Washington gave birth to her first son, who was later known as the great George Washington. George Washington was born, and raised in Virginia. His childhood held few moments of greatness, seeing that he was only one of the ten children in the family. George Washington’s parents grew tobacco, and sold timber for a living. He received most of his education from a boarding school, about thirty miles from this home. Although George Washington was not very religious he was a Christian, and helped out at a local churchyard school. At the age of twenty-one he was employed as the official surveyor of the country Culpeper, and owned more than 1500 acres of land which he paid for himself. As a young boy, George Washington grew up in a small town in Pope’s Creek, Virginia.    He came from this small town in hopes of achieving great things, like becoming the first president of the United States.  He faced many failures, but by overcoming them, he made many great achievements.  Although, he faced hardship and failures, he did not let those get in the way of his goals.  He became one of the greatest presidents of the United States of America.

The American Revolutionary War occurred when the American colonies wanted to become an independent country from England in order to separate from the British Monarchy and their strict control over the colonies. The colonists wanted a revolution, a change in how they were governed and treated as a whole. However, the American Revolutionary War was not as "revolutionary" as it was said to be in terms of race, gender, and class. The revolutionaries spoke of change, when really all they were doing was creating their independent version of what they wanted to separate from.

The revolutionary war was 'revolutionary' in the fact that is was a radical and unique struggle, which resulted in the transformation of America into a unified country, which was not afraid to express or act on their shockingly new way of living. They became the first country to enact a new democratic government, they unified diverse and opposing colonies, and spoke freely of their rights, as they were people who had the ability to strike back at those who threatened their liberty. In essence, this 'revolutionary' country was new, outspoken, and confident in what they wanted.

George Washington is the greatest president because he was a natural leader. He led by example and not by excuses. He was chosen by the people to lead them into the great nation that was born that day from his presidency. George Washington was the first person to be elected president of the United States. He knew that the first president would have to set the example for the future presidents that had yet to come. George Washington was not only a present but also a soldier and a general. George Washington knew how to lead men to victory and greatness. He was a noble and humble man of the people. George Washington knew and did what was best for the people of the United States.

George Washington, son of Augustine Washington and Mary Ball Washington, was born on February 22, 1732, in Westmoreland County, Virginia. He served as general and commander in chief of the Revolutionary War, and was later chosen as one of the seven Virginia delegates to the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in May 1787. The convention met with the purpose of creating a constitution for the newly formed nation of the United States of America. Due to Washington’s background, he was unanimously elected president of the convention. His favor with the other delegates promoted the ratification of the US Constitution in 1788. During the revolutionary, many important things happened. The king of Great Britain was in charge of America at first. The king would place laws that were not fair at all to the colonists. Therefore, this made the colonists dislike the king. The king would make laws, that violate the colonist’s freedom, and put out new acts that would be worse than the previous one the colonists had petitioned against.

George Washington was known as the first president of The United States of America, commander of the Continental Army, president of the Constitutional Convention, and gentleman planter. Throughout his life he had faced various obstacles and achieved his goals until he became who he was today. George Washington’s goals during his lifetime, was to accomplish what needed to be done. George Washington was not entirely a person with a perfect plan for the future. He was a person who fought for his country and served as the leader for America. Instead of gaining more power after signing the peace treaty with the French, he resigned and wanted to develop the land after the war. His goal was to make sure that the land was stable to continue his development. Of course he wanted to ensure that the future of America is established which allowed him to create a system of government. As the first President, he established many forms of government that is even still being used till today. Through this system he would be achieving his goals on making sure that America is an independent, stable, and developed nation.

The word revolutionary means involving or causing a complete or dramatic change. The word revolutionary can be used to mean different types of changes depending on the time an event was taking place or how drastic things got compared to the ordinary daily life. An event in history that occurred that made the United States its own country was the Revolutionary War which was fought against the British. There were many different events that lead the colonies to finally want to break away from the British monarchy and it drastically changed the way of life for the colonies. The Revolutionary War was revolutionary because it led the colonies to establish a new form of ruling through government and mentally changed the way the colonials thought about certain things that they did not know they were capable to accomplish or obtain.

The American Revolution was revolutionary because revolutionary means to engage in or promote political revolution. That is exactly what the colonies where doing when they were trying to get rid of being under King George III power. The American Revolution was revolutionary because the colonist fought for freedom from England.
