A geriatric-focused social history with a geriatric review of symptoms could prove to be an efficient way to assess those aspects of Mr. Brown’s life. In addition to his testimony, one would also look to get the testimony of Mrs. Brown and any other caretakers, along with using the conversation and clinical visit to observe and assess Mr. Brown’s physical state, mental capacities, and emotional state. Given the problems Mr. Brown is experiencing due to his “massive stroke”, it would seem appropriate to do an Instrumental and Basic ADL assessment. Given his mild cognitive impairment, it could also be appropriate to perform one of the standard mental assessments (MMSE, MOCA, SLUMS, etc.) with a preference for the type that is normally used for
