Geronimo was born in June 1829 in No-Doyohn Canyon, Mexico, that today is near Clifton, Arizona into the Bedonkohe Apache tribe. Having had viewed the Geronimo video, it is apparent that he was a hero to some for being determined to be free at all costs. It is also fair to say that many of his own Apache tribe feels to this day, that he alone is the reason the Apache lost their homeland and caused so many to die. Personally, I find him to be a man who looked up to his Leaders and became a product of his environment. According to the film, Geronimo was raised to believe that it was common practice to raid and steal food what ever you wanted as a young man. Considered a naturally gifted hunter, Geronimo was as a boy who swallowed the heart of his first kill in order to ensure a life of successful hunter. Around the age of seven-teen, Geronimo fell in love with a woman named Alope. The two married and had three children together. While out on a trading trip, Mexican fighters attacked his camp. Quietly that night, Geronimo returned home, where he found his mother, wife and three children all dead. After, finding his entire family murdered, was the turning point where Geronimo went from being a simple horse thief leader of his tribe to a vicious warrior with the life long intention of killing anyone who

Bartolomé de Las Casas was born in Seville, Spain in 1474. His father joined Columbus second voyage and in 1502 Las Casas became part of the journey. The purpose of the father and son voyage was to replace Columbus as a royal governor of Hispaniola (Las Casas 9). When they arrive Las Casas saw the reality of his people mistreating, torturing, and enslaving the Taino Indians. He felt that the Indians did not deserve this kind of treatment and that he begins to write the things he would see. His book, The Very Brief Relation of the Devastation of the Indies, vividly describes a more gruesome treatment of the indigenous people ruled by the Spaniard. Even though it was his people. He wanted to reach the royal administration of Spain to change this

On Friday I had the honor to visit the historical Rancho Los Cerritos House; also known as Rancho Los Cerritos or Casa de los Cerritos, in Long Beach, California, it was the largest and most impressive adobe residence raised in southern California during the Mexican period. The structure of the house was built in 1844 by merchant Jonathan Temple, a Yankee pioneer who became a Mexican citizen. Los Cerritos means "the little hills" in English. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1970. I wasn’t lucky enough to visit this phenomenal and historical place until I took advantage of my history assignment and I decided to visit Rancho Los Cerritos with the company of some of my friends. On a Friday morning we took the chance and we
Keeping up with the Mexican culture was their menu. All the recipes are from the family passed down over many years. The original El Banditos was opened in 1969 in Des Moines, IA showing off their unique recipes and style. Everything is handmade and many ingredients are from local vendors around here. Their menu consisted of classic Mexican dishes such as chips and salsa or guacamole, tacos, enchiladas, burritos, fajitas, soups, and much more. They also served Mexican style breakfast food which I have not seen before which I found very interesting. In addition to a colorful menu of food, they
In the morning I left my small home to go to Tenochtitlan to sell my products that I grown on my farm. Everything seemed fine until suddenly in the distance I see a massive object floating on the sea that was slowly approaching the shore. Once it made it on shore I was in panicked. In my 20 years of life I never thought I would see the Quetzalcoatl in my life time. On arrival my divine king, Moctezuma II bare gifts to this god.
As little kids one of the few lessons that we first learn is about knowing the difference between our rights and our wrongs. Little did we know that was the introduction to becoming a person of morality. To be moral is defined as the principles and beliefs of someone’s behavior concerning what is and is not acceptable for them to do. This was exhibited in the story of Bartolome de la Casas, A Short Account of the Destruction of the Indes. Many historians characterized De las Casa as a moral person because of his deliberation of the invation of the Indians.
In A Short Account of the Destruction of the Indies, Bartolomé de Las Casas vividly describes the brutality wrought on the natives in the Americas by the Europeans primarily for the purpose of proclaiming and spreading the Christian faith. Las Casas originally intended this account to reach the royal administration of Spain; however, it soon found its way into the hands of many international readers, especially after translation. Bartolomé de Las Casas illustrates an extremely graphic and grim reality to his readers using literary methods such as characterization, imagery, amplification, authorial intrusion and the invocation of providence while trying to appeal to the sympathies of his audience about such atrocities.

"The Christmas Gift" by Francisco Jimenez and "Christmas Morning Surprise" are similar and different in a variety of ways. For example, both the kids and Francisco were very excited and full of anticipation for their Christmas gift. However, their expectations were very different. The kids in the video were expecting something big and grand because of the packaging. Francisco, however, was expecting a ball of his own to play with; something very small in comparison. Furthermore, when it comes to the gift they received, both Francisco and the kids were surprised by what it was. Despite their similarities, they were surprised in different ways. Francisco was not expecting to get a bag of candy, and he was disappointed. The kids were not
