Ghostbusters Movie Posters The originally Ghostbusters is a comedy and fantasy movie, released in 1985. And recently there has just be a remake of Ghostbusters that was released in 2016. Both the original and the movie are about the story of a group of friends who have the common goal to protect New York City from the wild ghost haunting the streets. In both the original and the new poster, it shows a group of friends who have a type of backpack gun pack to even fight the ghost you would see in the movie. The first thing you can notice when looking at both of these posters is the main characters all lined up and all having backpack generators, while holding some kind of guns. One of the main differences you will notice is the amount of characters and the characteristics of the characters. In the original movie poster there is only three main characters presented, all who happen to be male. While in the new movie poster there is a total of five main characters; four female and one male presented on the posters. This is a huge difference in the cast and the step up of the poster because the differences in characteristics and numbers. But it is also a …show more content…
In the old movie poster the balance is very center and directed to make the viewers eye get drawn to the main characters and the very top of the poster because of the green monstrous cloud. The balance within the new poster is very similar to the old. The only major difference which throws off the balance between the two is the car behind the main characters in the new poster. In the new poster most everything is spaced out well enough to also attract the view to the main characters, as well as the big ghost with a red circle line through it. The balance within this posters direct the viewer's eyes to what they see first. This is important because what they see if what will cause them to keep or lose their interest in the
First, the swastika symbol which to me represents the time Hitler took over who was a Nazi. Second, the skull and crossbones when I see that in this particular poster I think of death. Thirdly, the little boy who has blonde hair and blue eyes. Now during World War 2 when Hitler was in power he was out to make the master race which include blonde hair and blue eyes. So the little boy would have lasted a long time during the war. And the fourth thing I notice is the scene in the background. The scene in the background looks to me like a war zone with the fire in the right-hand corner and or the buildings that had fallen to the ground.
Throughout the whole movie poster for the movie Skyscraper, the viewer can see a handful of separate ways they used imagery to appeal to rhetorical devices. The most notable rhetorical device may be the foreground and background as they used strong contrasting colors and covered a third of the poster with the main character. Another very notable thing about the poster is the camera angle as it looks down on the character
The stylised poster of Crocodile Dundee constructs the identity of Australian men as being brave, gritty morally bound macho men who fill the roles of being the protectors of women and conquerors of the universe as man has always been. Paul Hogan is the central focus who represents the supposedly typical Australian man. Linda Kozlowski plays the supporting element in which she is the link between the rest of the world and Australia. The city skyline is the final element which brings the poster together for an immediate understanding for the viewer because it acts as a framing device for the couple. From a modernist point of view in a post-feminist era, viewers can agree with its ideas and Australians especially enjoy our depiction of a
(Just as a side note, I had pictures of the posters in the original paper but couldn 't transfer them to here. The first link in the bibliography has tons of WW1 propaganda posters you can use.)
First off, the biggest difference is the time periods of each movie. The older movie was set in Early Renaissance times. The newer movie is set in the early ninety’s. Another difference is the use of special effects. In the
The first poster I will talk about is “When you ride alone you ride with Hitler” This Poster was created by American painter Weimer Pursell. This Anti-Nazi advertisement, was nationally distributed by the United States government during WWII. The poster shows a man in a suite riding in a car with a ghost image that represents Adolf Hitler. The purpose of the poster was to encourage carpooling among Americans, so that the United States could conserve gasoline. During WWII gasoline was very important because it was used tanks and aircraft. The U.S government wanted to encourage people to carpool and not waste anymore gasoline then they had already. The second poster I will address is called “Liberators” This Nazi poster was created in 1944. While the Nazi’s believed propaganda as a vital tool in
The very first difference is probably the most noticeable and important difference between the two versions of the film: the narration of Rick Deckard
The book and movie are completely different. It 's like comparing apples and oranges. (I 'm assuming that you used the newest version with Guy Pierce). The biggest difference is probably the ommision of Haydee and Maximillien and Valentine (three of the main character) and the addition of Jacapo. Jacapo does is in the book, but he is never a large character.
1. The poster of the movie Get Out is divided into two sections in black and white. One African American man sits on a couch with fear in his eyes. The poster is designed in this way to indicate what the movie is about. The movie is about the stereotypes of races and racism which is shown directly on the poster by color arrangement.
Two differences that I have noticed is that in the movie
Ivan Reitman brings all of us movie lovers an action packed, haunted, and fun-filled motion picture called Ghostbusters. The 1984 movie features some of our favorite actors, and some amazing special effects that really makes the movie come to life. The movie is about 3 scientists who live their normal everyday lives in the city of New York. The super natural comes into play, and they dedicate the rest of their lives to catching ghosts. These men then join together to form a team called the Ghostbusters. Throughout the movie you will see tons of ghost fights, gore, and some very action full scenes. I love this movie, and I always watch it every time it comes on my television. Everyone should consider watching this movie because it truly is a great movie.
Movie posters are meant to capture the audience’s interest and reel them into going to the movie they are each individually presenting. Some posters do their job in catching the audience’s attention and some just don’t create any interest. Whether it creates interest from the audience or not mainly depends upon the visual aspects of it. These aspects include alignment, repetition, contrast, balance, direction, color, and font. Other aspects that most posters try to achieve that aren’t necessarily visual are appealing to the audience, showing the purpose, and staying on the right side of ethics. Also most of all movie posters contain the aspects of ethos, pathos, and logos.
A well-known phrase in the English language is, “a picture is worth a thousand words.” This catchy slogan is commonly used to convey emotion, individuality, and personality in an image. In the film industry, creating movie posters will indefinitely be a part of the phrase above. According to Alexander (2011), “a movies poster encompasses the message and feeling of the film, it should be the main source of attention for the release of a new movie” (n.p.). For this project I chose the genre, Drama. Within this genre, I chose three movies that are very diverse to analyze. The movies that I chose were, Holes, Gone Girl, and The Shawshank Redemption.
In my list of movies that always make me cry is the movie “Ghost” which was released on July 13, 1990. This movie made that summer really worth while and gave us romance, comedy and much to think about. The movie starred Demi Moore, Patrick Swayze and Whoopi Goldberg.
