The career portfolio should include a resume and cover letter, and may include examples of work, awards and certificates, news articles, and letters of recommendation. Copies of the portfolio can be left with potential employers or posted on-line for them to access. There are many resources for finding job openings to include networking through business or trade organizations, social networking, online job boards, classified ads, employment agencies, and clearing houses. Cover letters should be written for each specific job of interest. Resumes should be neat, well organized, and error free.
Being a senior you start thinking about job applications and wondering what is the right way to go about applying. I have had the chance to research a company that interest me for a position of being a Forensic Investigator at Bode Cellmark Forensics. Applying for a position at Bode Cellmark Forensics their application process is online to apply. I had got a head start on creating a resume and cover letter, but due to the change of the company I first had I was in the position to make a few minor changes to the cover letter. The changes I made to the cover letter were the company’s name, manager’s name, address, phone number, and email along with my first paragraph saying, “I have seen old job requirements for getting accepted and being qualified.”
I wanted to highlight the skills I knew the job I was applying for was looking for, but made sure I wasn’t over explaining and leaving that for the cover letter. This would help me not only get the interview, but possibly the job as well. As far as the cover letter, I talked more about myself and more about the experience I had. I had the chance to give examples of my experience and emphasize how my experience would benefit the company. I believe that having the opportunity to write both the cover letter and resume and get feedback about it will really help me when applying for a job.

In the two speeches Obama and Trump, both of them dressed well but Obama had a better body language and Trump had a lack of body language. Even though both are presidents they are different, Trump had lack of sentences while Obama new what had to say. He could not even answer this question and left it with “I’ll tell you at the time. I’ll keep you in suspense, okay?” On the other hand, Hillary Clinton was able to provide a reasonable answer for almost every question. This clearly shows which candidate is more fit to be
Dressing for success can either make or break you during an interview. Your appearance is the first impression an employer gets before you can even shake their hand. What you wear can make a huge impact on whether or not you get picked for the desired job. There can be a fine line between too little, just right and too much. The employer can build a good idea of you as a person just by what you’re wearing. For example, if someone were to show up to an interview for a dental assisting position at a dentistry, the ideal candidate should be wearing professional attire, such as dress pants and a fitted blouse, or perhaps a classy skirt or dress. Never wear too much jewelry or bright, eye catching colors. Although this may make you stand
I am sure you read thousands of cover letters, so I will try to keep this short and sweet.
I met the first two applicants this morning. My impressions where that they both are qualified and both have different strengths for our clinic. I will explain my reasoning below.
To prepare myself for the job search I have taken the past two weeks to fine tune my cover letter and resume to the position that I am most interested in after graduation. A cover letter is important because it gives the first impression of yourself to a future employer. It is also important because you need to make sure it has all the qualities of professional correspondence. If it does not, some HR departments and interviewers will not even look twice at your resume or attached samples of work. Finally, a cover letter needs to set you apart from other applicants. That means taking the time to research thoroughly the company, the position, and market in general. I have made sure to be descriptive of my skills, but not too much so they
Now that your thinking about these two different people (that your considering to hire) which one would you choose? Person 1 or Person 2 ? Well, the majority of us would choose Person 2. Why?? Because Person 2 shows that they are humble, teachable, and grateful. We wouldn't hire Person 1 because they appeared as arrogant, "stuck-up", and maybe even pushy.

In this course, I’ve learned the appropriate audience, purpose, structure, and voice for a cover letter. A cover letter accompanies a resume and is written formally. It is used to convince the company that you are fit to be hired, and to introduce yourself to them. The audience of a cover letter is the manager of a business or company. The purpose is to introduce yourself to a potential employer and to highlight any relevant skills you possess. The structure of a cover letter includes your address, the date, the recipient’s address, and a salutation. The opening paragraph states why you’re writing, establishes a point of contact, and gives a brief introduction of yourself. The body paragraphs highlight some of the more important points from your resume. The closing paragraph should politely request an interview at the employer’s convenience. Identify what supplementary material’s being sent, such as a writing sample or a portfolio. The reader should be thanked for their consideration and you should indicate that you’re looking forward to hearing from them. There should be a complimentary closing followed by your name and signature. The voice of a cover letter should be polite, formal, and concise.
