Both civilization believe that Earth didn't exist at the beginning of time instead there was a median that was to become or help form our green plane. In the fact that Norse mythology believes Earth was nothing except for a cold, barren ice wasteland, this they called Ginnungagap, with nothing but rime ice and the Heaven, named Muspell, is described as being “a region of heat and brightness” (Faulkes 1). The Iroquois also describe the beginning as the Earth being nothing; however instead of the ice that filled the void that was/is “space” it “was a great ocean” (Iroquois 1).
