I feel this author has been very effective at getting his points across.
Points made – He justified his point that he has witnessed a ginormous amout of crazy drivers.
I have ridden in a taxi in the Argentinean city of Mar del Plata (literally, ``Cover your eyes''), where (a) nobody ever drives slower than 65 miles per hour, including inside parking garages, and (b) at night, many motorists drive with their headlights off, because-a taxi driver told me this, and he was absolutely serious-this extends the life of your bulbs. (When he told me this, we were in a major traffic jam caused by an accident involving a truck and a horse.)

We were leasurely driving to visit a friend after dinner out. As I’m starting to slow for a stop sign, I looked in my rear view mirror. The nearest vehicle behind me was a good half a block back. I came to a full stop and just as I went to depress the gas pedal, BAM! It took me a few seconds to realize what had just happened and process the situation, as my daughter was screaming in anguish. As I step outside the vehicle while dialing 911. A young female came running up to me, pleading with me to not call the police. My daughter still crying in pain, and rounding the back of the car to see the extent of the damage. As I am explaining to her that my daughter is injured and needs and ambulance, her child in the back seat in a child restraint starts crying. I caused me to not play MS nice girl any more. This was unacceptable behavior for a person responsible for an infant’s life. Needless to say, she was driving a rental car at the age of 17 because she had wrecked her car a couple days earlier. Her excuse for the accident was that the baby dropped its bottle. She was reaching back to retrieve it and hit us. One would think that since there was a stop sign in less than 20 seconds, that she would wait to reach for it when she stopped. There was no thought to what could happen to her child or her self prior to the reaction. It has caused a

Therefore, it is safe to say, Barry has a diverse experience when it comes to different drivers on the road. The fact that Barry refers to actual events he’s experienced that happened, helps him to obtain credibility. Barry goes on in his writing to explain what type of drivers there are in each city or country he has visited, leading up to the worst one of them all. From his experience in Boston, Barry goes on to talk about the motorists he’s witnessed. Barry describes Boston as a place, “where the motorists all drive as though there is an open drawbridge just ahead, and they need to gain enough speed to jump across it.”

The author’s illustration shows confidence in his knowledge of crazy drivers. I empathies with Dave Barry (2014) as I read, “I have ridden in a taxi in the Argentinean city of Mar del Plata (literally, ``Cover your eyes''), where (a) nobody ever drives slower than 65 miles per hour, including inside parking garages, and (b) at night, many motorists drive with their headlights off, because-a taxi driver told me this, and he was absolutely serious-this
When I lived in California, I work at Angel view ( A foundation for individuals with physical and mental disabilities. ). I was responsible for their daily care such as bathing, changing and feeding. I was a caretaker for three people their names were Martin, Bobby and Rafael. Martin had a traumatic brain injury and limited communication, and both Bobby and Rafael where a quadriplegic and nonverbal. My situation involves Martin and the day he broke my hand and wrist all because he didn't understand why he couldn't go outside. His mom had given a strict order not to let him outside if the weather was bad because he had a compromise immune system and would most likely end up in the hospital. When I tried to explain this to Martin, he became irate and started screaming and that's when he attacked me
Each year numerous lives are lost due to careless and irrational driving. The disregard for safe driving has been a predicament to the United States of America for years. Many years Police have relied heavily on speed cameras, breathalyzer tests and heavy fines as a deterrent against unlawful drivers. Over the years fatality rates have increased, so the Department of Transportation and Highway Safety has composed a series of safe driving campaigns. On many occasions the Transportation Department informs and advises the public about the importance of responsible driving. They propagate safe driving through the various channels of the media and
Front lights are something that is getting really bad in these days. Before front lights on a car were not so bad and it would actually help people in the street see the road and see you which kept the streets safe. The reason it is getting so bad is by the new lights that they are putting on cars now by making the light brighter and changing the color of the light. It is helping the driver on the street but not helping anybody on the road because the light is to strong and then blinding other people on the street by the power of the light. This makes me think that businesses will make their lights stronger to help the driver and make the driver think that it is a smarter and safer light to have on the person’s car so then they will make the
One thing about working in law enforcement is that you encounter very realistic situations. The majority of the situations you face are not for the faint of heart. I remember seeing my first dead body or dismemberment, and it took a minute for me to process what I was observing. I have seen numerous amounts of shooting victims and tragic accidents. However, the one thing that I will never get used to seeing is a child hurt in any way. It especially became an issue for me after I had my son. Every time I made the scene of an incident involving children, I would always put my child in that situation. As soon as I returned home after my shift, I would make it my business to touch him just to make sure that he was okay. So when it comes to any crime
During daily driving everyone experiences different situations, and types of drivers. There are many different types of drivers, and most of them have no distinct characteristics. Then, there are the types of drivers that everyone can relate to seeing. Usually once in a drivers day they can say that they have been caught up in one of the following types of driver situations.
Drivers who are aware of the abusive cameras are constantly caught up trying to avoid getting an outrageous ticket; therefore, in attempt to avoid them, drivers are unexpectedly and furiously coming to abrupt stops. In result of the urgent and sudden stop of driver A (the first one to cross the intersection), braking quickly doesn’t give driver B neither enough time or physical room to move out of the way, consequently resulting in a rear-end collision, sometimes involving more than just two drivers. The driver’s panic to evade the ticket ends up caught up in the misfortunes of an even sadder circumstance. Leading reasons for this is thanks to the intentional decrease of yellow-light length times. Studies have shown that since the installment of the cameras there has been intentional scheming to cut the period of yellow light to catch as many victims as possible. It has been verified that increasing yellow-lights to at least one second more would decrease the number of accidents by over 45%. (Maass). An extra reason for which there is
There are three types of drivers in this world: competent, overcautious, and reckless. After driving for many years in frustrating rush hour traffic, one might find there are three types of drivers, competent drivers who keep the flow going, over cautious drivers who cause slow and backed up traffic, and reckless drivers who weave in and out of traffic causing one near death experience after another. Trying to sort out what type of driver a person might be is an extremely challenging task. In a person's own mind, they think they are the aggressive type of driver, or the cautious type, but no one will ever admit that they are reckless kind. In most cases they’re too oblivious to these classifications and all other
“Life in the Fast Lane” is a classic rock song by The Eagles with an upbeat tempo; however, the lyrics reveal a darker theme than the tune suggests.
In this category, these slow drivers are perhaps people who are terrified to drive due to being an inexperienced driver, being in multiple car accidents, or having anxiety while driving.
