From what I 've witnessed growing up, our society as shown to enjoy putting others down. In one of the articles I read, the author claims "both genders bully, but girls are better at it; they are more switched on to the advances of social interaction and use psychological forms that are harder to detect and easier to deny, and they can do it with a smile." The first time I actually witnessed this was in 7th grade, when my so-called best friend decided not to talk to me for 2 weeks. I had bought the same shirt as her. That was when I at last recognized how much girls really hurt each other. In my gym class there is a group of 4 girls whom I used to be good friends with, but now just acquaintances. When I listen to them talk every day the only thing they ever discuss is other girls, and how annoying, ugly, fat, etc. they are. When I asked them why exactly they waste their time doing what they do, my exact words were "it seems like you guys live to talk about other people." After I said that a girl proclaimed "well, they really do deserve it, they 're nasty, plus they talk about us all the time." I didn 't really say anything else after that. I just kind of wondered why it seems like such a priority for girls to talk about other girls. All I talk about is how annoying my life is. Honestly, I used to be one of those girls, one of the nasty girls who loved to tear other people down in order to make myself feel better, but now I feel like there 's no point in it. I feel good about myself, and I know what it 's like to be tortured by other girls, your so called "friends". Therefore I don 't even bother anymore. Although I may not do it anymore, that doesn 't mean it 's going to change, especially in high schools. I 'm sure this has been going on as long as man can remember, and I 'll bet you it won 't change anytime
