Global warming, air pollution, and toxic chemicals are just a few of the horrible termites slowing tearing away at the environment in which we live. As technology in industrialized community has advanced over the years, there has been an alarming about of toxins released into our atmosphere; causing catastrophic effects to our environment and our bodies. Humans were placed on the top of the hierarchy of all life on earth, it would unethical for us to ignore our responsibility to cultivate, nurture and take care of the earth on which we live.
There are many controversies about Global warming, air pollution and toxic chemicals; environmentalist are studying the origins of the problems and creating solutions to end them. Environmentalist

Global warming is defined as the warming of the earth’s atmosphere due to a high increase of harsh chemicals such as CO2, methane, and nitrous oxide (Rothschild, D. 2007, pg. 8). Global warming is not the cause but rather it is just the daunting result of many causes. The increase in automobile usage causes an increase in the amount of emissions in the air, the increase in air conditioning units, airplanes, with heaters chemical plants and much more are all associated with the causes of global warming.
As a result of this world wide issue, animals such as polar bears and penguins are on the verge of becoming instinct due to the melting of glaciers which is their natural environment. This major problem has translated from first effecting the
Environmental Issues 4 environment in which humans live, to now presenting major challenges for the animal kingdom as well. There is a call to action that is being trumpeted to all who will listen and act. There is a greater awareness of this problem; however the proactive actions behind the awareness are only performed by a select few, more need to get involved. Many people feel it is not their war or their problem; not realizing it is everyone’s war.
The need for action is great and needs to happen now. Al Gore very eloquently states that “Enlightened governments and their leaders must play a major role in spreading awareness of the problems, in framing practical solutions, in
Global warming is the recent and ongoing rise of temperature on a global scale. Over the past century, the Earth's average temperature has risen 1.4°F (Carlowicz, 2010). Global warming is the effect of an excessive amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Greenhouse gasses trap heat from escaping back into space to keep the Earth from freezing, this is called the Greenhouse Effect. An excessive amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere trap too much heat, thus, causing Earth's temperature to rise.
It is our actions that have directly, and indirectly, caused such environmental destruction; now it is us that must help save them. As John Sawhill said, "In the end, our society will be defined not by what we create, but what we refuse to destroy." We are their only hope; future generations of animals and mankind alike are depending on us.
The earth is slowly dying do to the spread of harmful contaminants such as pesticides, garbage, and non biodegradable objects. They are present in the air, ocean, and ecosystem causing harm to both humans and animals. While most of the general population recognizes that pollution is an issue, no measures have/ are being taken to prevent it. Waste is continuously being poured into water sources and the ocean even though it kills animals and continues to poison humans. It is also being spread throughout the environment by ways of ignorance and laziness from humans. Because animals inhabit more of the world than humans do, they are the most impacted by pollution. Many animals have had to relocate, been killed, or have gone extinct due to the contagion
As the upcoming generation, I am technologically advanced, knowledgeable, and aware. I am passionate towards the problems I can mend and adamant towards those who've failed to be amended. With this, I'd like to address a nightmare that continues to flourish within our world. This nightmare cab be recognized as the lack of absorption and protection given to our environment.
People need to understand that the environment is everybody’s responsibility. We need to take accountability for providing a green future for future generations. We must act before its too late. We must sacrifice, compromise, and be willing to
In today’s society, environmental problems are a big problem that plague our world. These detrimental changes are creating astonishing problems for every living organism. Global warming is not a myth. Glaciers are rapidly melting, ecosystems are being destroyed, trees are being cut down for profit, and the globe is warming up and changing our normal climate. Everyone is a contributor to these changes, whether it is a big contribution or a small one. Big businesses and governments all around the world are contributing to the increase in pollution. Factories release chemical waste into our air, and oceans which over time causes holes in our ozone layer. This is not a small easily reversible problem. Chemical air pollution causes problems to not only our environment, but to all the species living on this earth.
Instead of responding to God’s precious gifts that were given to us with faith, thanks and responsibility, most of these environmental problems are the result of human practices. This is the result of the different worldviews that people have. Worldviews determine our values and beliefs; help us to understand the world around us, and in general function works as a guide to life (Wright, 2003, p. 9). However, cultural and environmental conditioning tends to enslave us to ways of thinking and behaving, usually without us realizing it. While some view nature as being merely for men' use, others view nature as a consumable resource that we have been given, others as inexhaustible, others as something to use and replace, others as something to look at, but not to touch, others as a cosmic
NGS integrates greenhouse into other major policy initiatives, such as the Natural Heritage Trust, and launches new measures to increase greenhouse emission reduction activities across the Australian community. It provides the strategic framework for an effective greenhouse response and for meeting current and future international commitments. It will provide a fresh impetus for action by governments, stakeholder groups and the broader community and set directions for that action into the next century.
Global warming is the name given to the increase in the earth’s surface temperature. It is caused by the collection of greenhouse gases, carbon
Global warming is concerned with an average increase in the temperature of the atmosphere and the increase in the Earth 's surface temperature primarily due to the emission of greenhouse gases from the burning of fossil fuels. As for the processes of global warming, they can occur from a variety of causes. The causes include the things that are concerned with natural and human factors.
It is undeniable that humans are leaving increasingly more permanent marks on our planet. The result of environmental plundering is not only causing the increasing depletion of earths natural resources, but human actions are also changing the climate of the world. Increasing activity around the globe has begun to create a crisis. Humans are using Earth’s resources and leaving a negative ecological footprint. Alarms have been raised by both the amounts of resources human species uses, as well as the methods they are using to harvest and refine these resources.
Ethics is the study of what is right and wrong in human conduct. Environmental ethics studies the effects of human’s moral relationships on the environment and everything within it (Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy, 2008). The ethical principles that govern those relations determine human duties, obligations, and responsibilities with regard to the Earth’s natural environment and all of the animals and plants that inhabit it (Taylor, 1989). The purpose of this paper is to reveal environmental issues that are threatening the existence of life on Earth, and discus our social obligations to refrain from further damaging our environment, health and life for future generations. I will discus the need for appropriate actions and the ethical

A human induced global ecological crisis is occurring, threatening the stability of this earth and its inhabitants. The best path to address environmental issues both effectively and morally is a dilemma that raises concerns over which political values are needed to stop the deterioration of the natural environment. Climate change; depletion of resources; overpopulation; rising sea levels; pollution; extinction of species is just to mention a few of the damages that are occurring. The variety of environmental issues and who and how they affect people and other species is varied, however the nature of environmental issues has the potential to cause great devastation. The ecological crisis we face has been caused through anthropocentric
