I have chosen osteopathic medicine as my professional choice in becoming a physician, because I have a passion for the healthcare field and learning, I want to be able to help others and give back to the community and I believe that medicine is evolving towards an osteopathic approach which takes into account the body as a whole. Passion is the driver behind any good physician. I am always looking to learn and improve upon my performance in whatever I am doing. Whether it was undergraduate coursework, medical shadowing, EMT training, or community service I put forth my fullest effort into the task at hand. Every moment in medicine and life in general is a valuable learning experience. Osteopathic medicine will force me outside of my comfort zone and many mistakes will be made along the way, but I look forward to tackling the challenges ahead of me and in the end it will allow me to become the best physician possible.
Should College Athletes Be Paid to Play? Rebecca Lobo once said“Athletes who take to the classroom naturally or are encouraged to focus on grades should be able to do well in the classroom. I believe the reason you go to college is to get your degree. It's not a minor league or an audition for the pros.” many athletes should read these and apply it to their life because college isn't about trying to play in the pros if you're an athlete sure you can have a dream, but you need to also get a degree that should be the main focus not getting a tryout or an audition for the pros. Every year around one hundred seventy-seven thousand athletic scholarships is given out to those that stood out in their sport, whether it was basketball, football, or even baseball. The kids receiving these scholarships are given a free
My life is centered around church, sports, and family. I am a hardworking, motivating, caring person. While at Forbush I attend FCA (fellowship of Christian athletes) twice a week, am an active member of HOSA(health occupation students of America), and play or manage many sports. I kept on the A/B
I was a competitive athlete in all around gymnastics, until I had a traumatic brain injury, which resulted in an end to my career. My plan was to compete at the collegiate level as I study at a college of my choice, but due to an injury my plans quickly changed. As being a gymnast in my past, it has created me to be who I am by the way I act and the qualities I have as a person. I have great communication skills by being able to talk with anyone about anything that they need too. I am always willing to learn new things by others and I am not afraid to have them teach me something that I don’t already know. I have great leadership skills with having a lot of experience with a group of people. I will never give up on anyone no matter the circumstances, I will go through whatever it is to make sure all of the people that I know are happy. I have and almost always keep a positive attitude towards things and other people, and will push them to their limits to make sure they are the best that they can be. I am very enthusiastic and hope to
The strengths that I, Evia Neuman, have acquired and will bring to the Marion High School’s NHS program are the characteristics of scholarship, leadership, character, and service. I am currently in the 11th grade and have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.8. During my high school career I have participated in volleyball, grades 9th-11th, basketball, and sideline cheer both in 9th grade. While on these teams I have learned what it means to be a team to strategize with other people to come up with a solution that works in the end. As captain of the volleyball team in 10th grade I learned how to be more of a leader. However when I was not a captain doesn’t mean I didn’t still try to lead and keep the team up to persevere through obstacles.
A select few can say they came out alive after the college recruiting process for any sport, but the journey is one that affects many alike across campus. As a high school athlete, it is a true dog fight to get your spot at the school of your dreams.
I am currently a sophomore at Alter High School in Kettering, Ohio. So far I have two years of varsity experience in both lacrosse and wrestling. I am a captain of the wrestling team and my goal is to be voted a captain for the lacrosse team next year. My biggest goal as of now is trying to get in both an academically and athletically prestigious school. I would be a different candidate from most others because of two main characteristics I have; work ethic and toughness. My biggest advantage over others is knowing that I can out-work them no matter who they are and have the mental toughness to carry me through it. Thank you for looking at my profile and feel free to contact
There are a lot of things I want to accomplish before my high school career has finished. Academic wise, I would want to be able to say I got honours all four years. Also, I want to at least get one individual school award. In terms of sports, I want to win a gold medal at OFSAA for Track and Field. I want to run sub 21 seconds in the 200m and sub 46 seconds in the 400m by the end of my senior year. I would want at least one athlete of the year award under my belt as well. I would want to experience at least 3 more new countries and work at least 1 job by 2020. I don’t know for sure what I want to do when I grow up, but I am very intrigued to be a personal trainer or fitness trainer. I have a passion for sports and healthy/ active living,
I’m applying to this scholarship to help me pursue an education. My future goals are graduating college with a degree in physical education. I chose PE because I’m a very active person and I always enjoyed PE as a kid. I consider it one of my favorite subjects in school. My dream job is to become a college softball recruiter and coach. I hope to graduate college and work my way to the top of the coaching list. My reason for becoming a college coach is to help young girls live their dream by being a college athlete.
Justin Sankey Ms. Riese English II 9 November 2014 Orthopedic Surgeon Career Summary During High School there are many possible ways to prepare for being an orthopedic surgeon. It is important to take advanced math and science classes during high school. Their are not really any jobs that a high school student can do to prepare themselves for becoming an orthopedic surgeon, but they can do volunteer work. In order to show that they have pre medical interests, many people interested in entering the medical field will volunteer at a hospital and do things that are in a medical setting. It is important to work on certain skills in high school. One such skill is working well under pressure. This is essential, as it is necessary to stay calm while performing a surgery, as they do not want to make a mistake. In addition to being calm under pressure, it is also important to remain emotionally stable for the same reason. Also they don’t want to scare a patient or their family by being overly emotional about something. It is also very important to stay self motivated. “They must not only be prepared to spend many years at school preparing for a career as a surgeon, but also to spend long hours on the job once they have their medical degree” (“Orthopedic Surgeon”). Another skill that is needed is having strong communication skills. Orthopedic surgeons have to be able to communicate with the rest of the hospital staff about their patient. Finally, they have to be able to
While high school student-athletes invest a lot of time and energy into their sport, the collegiate lifestyle brings a new level of difficulty that many incoming freshmen can find intimidating and overwhelming at first. In addition to being under more pressure to perform on a larger, more competitive stage in
In school, I play the saxophone in the band. I'm thinking about doing band for 4 more years to get an advanced diploma in high school. It's good to show off your talent to stand out, I also competed in many art competitions to test my skills. Showing my interests and talents in many activities other than academics will make me unique and special, and this will allow a higher chance of getting into the top colleges.
My educational goals are to obtain a Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine. I am a dual enrolled student and going to be an early graduate, therefore, I am ahead of the game in my education and i want to continue that. I plan on attending a University and obtaining my bachelor's
I am not interested in any activities that deal with speech, debate, etc. I do want to play sports for Northwestern and those sports are football and track. I want to join their football team because they had great seasons in 2016 they went 10-2. Their statistics for their team were the top of their division. I also want to join their track team because they have multiple athletes that have set multiple records. I will be staying at the campus when I attend
