Some goals and aspirations I have athletically would be to improve greatly in the sports I love and to make it far in them; i.e. competing in college or beyond. This has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember and as a high school junior, I have time to make these dreams a reality. Academic goals I have are to maintain a high GPA, stay ranked in the top 10% of my class, and go on to a great college to become an Osteopathic Surgeon with a PhD in biology. I would make a good candidate for a college team because I am hardworking and disciplined. I learned to overcome obstacles, specifically knee surgery, and push myself to become better. I am different from other recruits because I always keep a positive attitude during tough situations

I would love to be a part of Central Michigan's athletic training program. I have a deep love and passion for sports. After High School I would still want to be in the sports field and I also like caring for people which would make Athletic training the field for me. I am currently a captain on my basketball and track team. I make others around me better and take on the role of being a leader. My goal is to graduate and get my degree. After that I envision myself being a strength and conditioning coach or an athletic trainer. I want to be a good athletic trainer at a college or pro level.
Rebecca Lobo once said“Athletes who take to the classroom naturally or are encouraged to focus on grades should be able to do well in the classroom. I believe the reason you go to college is to get your degree. It's not a minor league or an audition for the pros.” many athletes should read these and apply it to their life because college isn't about trying to play in the pros if you're an athlete sure you can have a dream, but you need to also get a degree that should be the main focus not getting a tryout or an audition for the pros. Every year around one hundred seventy-seven thousand athletic scholarships is given out to those that stood out in their sport, whether it was basketball, football, or even baseball. The kids receiving these scholarships are given a free
My life is centered around church, sports, and family. I am a hardworking, motivating, caring person. While at Forbush I attend FCA (fellowship of Christian athletes) twice a week, am an active member of HOSA(health occupation students of America), and play or manage many sports. I kept on the A/B honor roll all through middle and high school. I have been the HOSA historian my junior and senior year. My junior and senior year I was one of two head student athletic trainer for football, soccer, wrestling, and basketball. I love being involved in the community and helping out whenever I can. After high school, I plan to attend Catawba College and major in athletic training. To help with this, I went to athletic training camp two years at Greensboro
I have chosen osteopathic medicine as my professional choice in becoming a physician, because I have a passion for the healthcare field and learning, I want to be able to help others and give back to the community and I believe that medicine is evolving towards an osteopathic approach which takes into account the body as a whole. Passion is the driver behind any good physician. I am always looking to learn and improve upon my performance in whatever I am doing. Whether it was undergraduate coursework, medical shadowing, EMT training, or community service I put forth my fullest effort into the task at hand. Every moment in medicine and life in general is a valuable learning experience. Osteopathic medicine will force me outside of my comfort zone and many mistakes will be made along the way, but I look forward to tackling the challenges ahead of me and in the end it will allow me to become the best physician possible.
I am a committed and determined individual who works hard to achieve my goals. Besides various athletic accomplishments, I also excel in the classroom maintaining an accumulative 3.95 GPA. This shows I can manage my time well and prioritize. I have also been credited as a great leader on and off the playing
College was a dream that was made possible by playing more than one sport. College is an easy transition for these athletes because it’s not that much different from their high school lifestyle. The routine is easier for them, they can manage their time with homework, practices and a social life at a stress free cost because of their time management skills. In the early stages of an athlete’s recruitment, many coaches are drawn to them because of their multi-sport abilities. Making friends comes easy to those athletes and they have the ability to become close to all of your new teammates and with the coaching staff. Athletes can go into this season ready to play, healthy body at hand, and fully confident in their success in this year. This was all possible because they played multiple sports. It laid down the path to their dream. And like everyone else they did everything possible to help them achieve
According to Steven Lynn’s Texts and Context: Writing About Literature with Critical Theory, Lynn mentions that the purpose of the feminist criticism as analytical tool is to identify and challenge the ways in which women are oppressed”(Lynn 221). Women during the Elizabethan Period (1555-1603) were “subservient to men”( Elizabethan Era). Expected and raised with morals and values to believe they were inferior to men, to obey their husbands, to forge alliances with other powerful families through arranged marriages, Elizabethan women only learned certain skills at home. They learn various languages, dancing, music, and sewing. However, the women portrayed in William Shakespeare’s King Lear defy the traditional gender role for the Elizabethan time. The women in this play should not be underestimated. They are not your typical, sensitive, sheepish, loving women that the time expected of them. Goneril and Regan reveal a hunger for power through their words and violent actions, portraying women in a derogatory way while Cordelia the good daughter’s opposition to her sisters leads to her death.
A select few can say they came out alive after the college recruiting process for any sport, but the journey is one that affects many alike across campus. As a high school athlete, it is a true dog fight to get your spot at the school of your dreams.
Mobility grants opportunity and lifelong experiences through the gift of exploration and independence. Without autonomy of movement in one’s life, there are struggles accompanied by frustration do to the lack of freedom and ability. It is an orthopedic surgeon’s job to bring function to one’s life even if they have never been granted movement without restraint before. I am currently a sophomore at Alter High School in Kettering, Ohio. So far I have two years of varsity experience in both lacrosse and wrestling. I am a captain of the wrestling team and my goal is to be voted a captain for the lacrosse team next year. My biggest goal as of now is trying to get in both an academically and athletically prestigious school. I would be a different candidate from most others because of two main characteristics I have; work ethic and toughness. My biggest advantage over others is knowing that I can out-work them no matter who they are and have the mental toughness to carry me through it. Thank you for looking at my profile and feel free to contact
I believe the art institute of Hollywood will help me improve my current skills and attain my idea job. My career goal is to become a multimedia and animation artist, because I enjoy using more than one style of medium. I have done research for jobs that circle around this profession, and I have come to the understanding that I first need to obtain a bachelor's degree of arts. My plan is work hard and sharpen my skills, so I can improve as I take the courses required to reach my goal.
There are a lot of things I want to accomplish before my high school career has finished. Academic wise, I would want to be able to say I got honours all four years. Also, I want to at least get one individual school award. In terms of sports, I want to win a gold medal at OFSAA for Track and Field. I want to run sub 21 seconds in the 200m and sub 46 seconds in the 400m by the end of my senior year. I would want at least one athlete of the year award under my belt as well. I would want to experience at least 3 more new countries and work at least 1 job by 2020. I don’t know for sure what I want to do when I grow up, but I am very intrigued to be a personal trainer or fitness trainer. I have a passion for sports and healthy/ active living,
During High School there are many possible ways to prepare for being an orthopedic surgeon. It is important to take advanced math and science classes during high school. Their are not really any jobs that a high school student can do to prepare themselves for becoming an orthopedic surgeon, but they can do volunteer work. In order to show that they have pre medical interests, many people interested in entering the medical field will volunteer at a hospital and do things that are in a medical setting. It is important to work on certain skills in high school. One such skill is working well under pressure. This is essential, as it is necessary to stay calm while performing a surgery, as they do not want to make a mistake. In addition to being calm under pressure, it is also important to remain emotionally stable for the same reason. Also they don’t want to scare a patient or their family by being overly emotional about something. It is also very important to stay self motivated. “They must not only be prepared to spend many years at school preparing for a career as a surgeon, but also to spend long hours on the job once they have their medical degree” (“Orthopedic Surgeon”). Another skill that is needed is having strong communication skills. Orthopedic surgeons have to be able to communicate with the rest of the hospital staff about their patient. Finally, they have to be able to
Despite the many stereotypes that are connected with being a student athlete, student athletes in general are held to much higher standards by their institutions. Before a prospective student athlete even enters college, they are made fully aware of the academic standings and requirements of the college they choose. Although the academic requirements vary from college to college, the standards are still held high for all student athletes. The transition into college can be exceptionally difficult especially for the
