The purpose of the Church is to expand God’s Kingdom through preaching and living the gospel. Spreading the “Good News” of Jesus Christ who was born to a young virgin named, Mary. The Father in love gave his only Son to be born of a virgin so that he could be the perfect sacrifice to atone for the sins of mankind. (This was a fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecy). John1:14 “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (English standard version) Jesus was the very first Christmas gift. Jesus is a gift freely given from the Father in love to humankind. The Son would live amongst us being both fully human and fully divine knowing he was to be the sacrificial lamb who would die and shed his blood to atone for the sins of the world. He would rise again on the 3rd day to be seated at the right hand of the Father so that we might have the opportunity for redemption and eternal life through Jesus Christ our Saviour. All we have to do is repent of our sins and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and we will be forgiven. We are no longer slaves to sin but have been set free. Jesus died that we might have life. John 10:10 “I have come that they might have life and may have it abundantly.” The Church is a group of believers whose goal and focus is to live and teach the words of Christ.
