Why did I decide to attend college? I chose this path for my life when I was very young, both of my parents attended some form of higher education. They both ended up living fairly well, I decided that I wanted to be successful in life as well and that going to college would be an integral part of my future. I want to be able to live in comfort; be able to be a productive member of my community still, become an adult, and be able to understand things in a new light.

My motivations for going to college include many things that include stepping out into a bigger world than just my small hometown, also seeing what other opportunities may await me. Other motivations I have for going to college is to get a higher level of education to help me find a future job and hopefully a future career. College can be very helpful in more ways than just giving people more head knowledge. I do not disagree that people will benefit from learning a trade skill. In my personal opinion I think we should teach the basics of some trade skills in high school, and let the student decide if a college education is something they want to pursue. After coming to a college I do see that people should come even if it is for two years. The debt is always in issue when coming to school, but there are plans you can make to pay them off. Coming to college has shown me information and knowledge I never thought I was capable of learning and it will be knowledge I will use for the rest of my life. I came to college last year for my own personal growth and to expand my horizons. I thought about what I wanted to do after high school and continuing my education was number one on my list. At the moment allot of people not only in the united states but in the world are indecisive about going to college. Some of them are scared of the hardwork and dedication that they would have to commit to but the money that they would have to pay. There are alot of people that didn't go to college and are very successful. Although teachers make it seem like its a requirement to go to college, it’s not, it’s the students decision. Both of my parents made separate choices but both turned out to be very successful in their lives. My mom chose to go to high school to continue her education in the medical field and it eventually paid off, getting out of student loans and having a lot of money to get the needs and wants of my family. My father chose to use his skills and the trades he learned to work and make money to support him and my mom, and he still continues to work using the trades he learned growing up. Ever since I was young, I had always thought anyone could go to college, that college was the next step after high school. Although this is technically true, there are people that cannot go to college like other students. Whether it is because of money or conflicts within the family, there are some people that never got the chance to have a higher level of education.

As a result of several motivational purposes, there are many driving factors to go to college that can and will impact one’s life. Before going to college, I waited 2 ½ years after I graduated high school to finally make my decision to go to college. The reason it took me so long is that I did not know what I wanted to do with my life. First, I wanted to be a probation officer, then I changed my mind to be an OBGYN, then finally I made the decision to become a nurse. I know I have a long road of schooling ahead of me, but that is okay. I have wonderful people in my life that encourage me to continue my studies. Going to college begins a new chapter in your life, it is the beginning of new friendships, networking connections, and most importantly, opportunities for self-improvement and professional growth. Entering college, you will be introduced to new areas of interest, broaden your perspective and vision of possibilities, establish and accomplish goals, develop lasting friendships and define yourself in ways that you had never imagined. College education is the only way to ensure financial stability and some wealth in your future.

College serves and will continue to serve me for the rest of my life, in addition college will be infinitely worthwhile to me. The essential reason for going to college was personal prosperity. Wealth in knowledge is notably beneficial no matter what it is you're learning. Personally I would like my own extravagances in life, not only to live under my parents forever, but having the ability to have a home of my choosing, drive any car imaginable while living life and having fun with friends and family. Providing for a family I one day strive to obtain, from food on the table to the largest of college funds.
