Fighitng for the equailty for slaves was Douglas greatest struggle that transform into a life changing vicotry for many Africn Americans. Like Fredrick Douglas, Esmerlda Santigo touching autobiographic called When I was Puerto Rican, elborates on the stuggles of the Santigo family in Pueto Rico but also their process and assimlation in the Uinted States. Through the eyes of Esmerlda, the reader is taken on a journey of family, conflct, lanuage boundaries, assmilation, dreams and sacfrice, which everyone can relate to in their lives.

Crown Point High School lunches are no fun because they are too healthy, for example, whole grain rice crispy treats, chicken and onion rings. The lunches are nasty because there is something dripping off the hamburgers and no one knows what kind of meat they use. The lunches are very unsanitary because students go through school not washing their hands and then going to lunch. In schools around Negaunee and around the world there are open campus for lunch. This gives students more option and healthier options for food besides the school lunch or a cold bag lunch. This also shows student that they have to have the ability to manage time. This also give kids time to break up the day and relax.

By looking at the story “Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been” we can see that a teenager by the name Connie is on the search for independence but also is still dependent on her parents, which most readers don't see; We see this happening when her friends dad took her and her friends to the movie theater (“ Where Are You Going Where Have You Been 861”). That part is important in the story because when Connie is at home she behaves like a brat and when she's with her friend she's a completely different person; she dresses more provocatively.

If I could host a dinner party and I could invite anyone. I would invite Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, and Huey P. Newton. Martin Luther King Jr. led the Civil Rights Movement in the 1960s and also in the 1960s Malcolm X was a national minister and spokesman of the Nation of Islam and Huey P. Newton led Black Panther Party in 1966 through 1987. I would invite these three men because they led different organizations to gain equal rights for African-Americans in the 1960s. They had different views on getting equal rights. For example, Martin Luther King Jr. believed in peaceful protesting and turning the other cheek but Malcolm X and Huey P. Newton believed by any means necessary that means they will do anything and everything to get equality. I would ask questions about how did they organization’s start and how they overcome all of the naysayers. I would serve roasted chicken and water served as a drink. We would talk about their deaths and did they felt they could have done more before they died. Also, we would talk about the current situations with African-Americans. I feel like we could use different tactics to get the job done. I think they will be upset how blacks are treated by society today. The topic of an open campus is a very touchy subject and alsi a very important matter, The fact that students are able to leave the school campus for their lunch hour is a privilege.

Do the lunch ladies really cherish the lives of the youth. This question is brought up everyday at my lunch table. An open campus lunch program is when, during the lunch period, students are permitted to leave campus and get lunch from local businesses or even home. At Urbana High School we currently have four lunch shifts, during which students pack or buy lunches. I believe Frederick County Public Schools should start an open campus lunch program for seniors because the school lunches are not healthy enough or appealing and do not have enough lunch options. The benefits that could come from this program go beyond the happiness of the seniors, they will reach the classrooms, staff members, and community.
