Here in Washington State, there are a few that are different than AHIMA standards. The Register of Births, Deaths, and Surgical Procedures all have the designation standard of "retain until no longer needed for agency business and then transfer to Washington State Archives. The AHIMA standard for all three of the Registers is permanent. What is North Carolinas standard retention for all three of the Registers?
