In chapter one, to engage or not to engage, it is claimed that some of the specific topics such as politics, religions, and ethics are difficult to discuss on the family dinner table or within the conversation with friends. Some even might say that people should avoid talking about this sensitive issues to keep a good company in the society, even if it is one’s favorite topic to discuss with. Chamberlain believes that it is important to engage into these controversial topics. However, there are people who argue their opinion so strongly that they can offend others with different perspectives. Therefore, he says that it is important to discuss these sensitive topics’ good and bad sides without getting ugly. Chamberlain gives two reasons that why people should engage into these controversial topics. Firstly, by sharing different views with others, one can see the problem through other’s perspective that they could not able to see it. Secondly, people can contribute to their culture through the discussion with other people. The second chapter starts with the conversation between Isaac and Michael about 9/11. Isaac described how bad was the 9/11, and he could not believe it just happened. Also, he considered this action as an evil. However, Michael had a different idea on that. He thought that Isaac should not call it evil action because this action was not evil to the people in the other country. With their point of view, it was a right action to make. Michael said that they

There are many things in society that people find offensive. As the next decade comes into view, there needs to be emphasis placed on grasping the differences in each individual person which would help us realize that not everyone reacts to things the same. Wood continues to talk in the Epilogue about our generation taking the time to recognize that not everyone is the same in the world. She says “Maybe your generation will replace the melting-pot metaphor with one that recognizes commonality without obliterating real and valuable differences among people” (Wood, 322). I think that she makes a great point here. We have been raised to understand that there is a “melting-pot” in our society. This idea may need to change in order to better suite what each person needs. It is important to recognize that we are not robots in society today. Each and every one of us wants to feel accepted for who we are as unique
When disagreements arise, they can have an expansive range between important and unimportant. ‘Important’ meaning issues such as religious controversy, political controversy, and controversy about moral behavior. The conversation about to be reflected upon, however, falls in the range of insignificant. Yet, this exchange of differing opinions seemed so necessary at the time. This was due to the fact that dichotomous thinking was at play.
Secondly, he warned that sometimes it becomes unclear to detect when the boundaries lose their importance and values. This uncertainty state about the tight closeness between confinements and the society members can be confusing, since one can never know how deep the bound is and a slight mistake can be the origin of complex difficulties in the society. Tilly clarifies the doubts becomes easier to understand when people are unified after being divided either through wars, conflicts and attacks (Tilly 2005: 213-229).

An immense necessity under the intention of providing international peace, whilst simultaneously maintaining respect of cultural diversity, the ability to contribute amongst one another to the progression of civilization through minimal conflict has proven a possibility through the awareness of alterations between the social identity of others within the cultural spectrum. However, should misinterpretation result upon contrast between separate social dynamics, the expectation of unity may fail to prove synonymous with reality, thus creating the inability to decipher the exchange of ideas and the connection among others.
Life can bring out the good, the bad, and the ugly. Most people can identify one person who shares these three traits. Heroes usually take the form of the good, while villains take the form of the bad or even the ugly. However, one thing remains certain. Most people who are brought up to become heroes are unsung heroes. They are not famous, nor recognized for their deeds. Instead, this breed of heroes commits themselves to the greater good, not to the fame or extravagant lives some heroes eventually live. Ho Chi Minh is one example of this. His actions throughout the course of his life were for the greater good of the Vietnamese people.
When people exchange ideas either on social outlook, music, arts, travel, family life, etc., they are fairly polite toward each other; but they will argue and perhaps become hostile if either politics or religion becomes the

Would I want to live to be 100? That’s an interesting question that’s very hard for me to answer each time I think about how to answer it. So, with most things in life, there’s a good and a bad side to most situations. But for me, with this certain topic, I’m not going to lie, I’m torn between which side to take. Over the years I’ve experienced some details to support these two sides of this topic ranging from music all the way to videos I’ve seen on YouTube. With each thing that I’ve experienced I took everything I was exposed into perspective and it just never really left my mind. I even thought about these involvements throughout my everyday life, making questions about what if. What I have to share with you, the reader, are my
