Although he has a genius level IQ, Will rather chooses to work as a janitor at MIT and hang out with his childhood friends from Southie. One day, Gerald Lambeau, math professor at MIT, puts his math theories on a board on the hallway. Few days later, he realizes that Will, a janitor, not his students, is the one who solved his math problems. Meanwhile, Will goes to jail because he commits violence towards police men. However, Lambeau, who recognizes that Will is a genius, suggests Will that if he works with him on math every week and gets therapy, he will help him stay out of prison. Will accepts his suggestion, however, he keeps making troubles with therapists . For the last, Lambeau asks Sean for help.
