The genre bachata was developed in the Caribbean island of Dominican Republic. This genre was created based on boleros (slow-tempo Latin music), son cubanos, waltzes, Mexican music and merengue. Bachata is well known as love and depressing songs in which many people describe them self with this genre. At one point back in the earlier 1960s, bachata was considered vulgar and low-class. “Acceptance of the music has increased significantly in the last two decades, although some dominicans, both individuals living on the island and stateside, still do not accept the music because of the implication of its lower-class origins and associations with such themes as crime, poverty, drinking, and prostitution’’(Stavans 47). The genre Bachata has spread and grown so quickly for the past few years that is has become very famous in the United States, Europe, China, and South America. The genre bachata is well known to attract people with its lyrics, instruments, and dance since it identifies many people with real life events.

Throughout his short lived life, Ryan White brought about awareness and educated many people about AIDS. He was born in Kokomo, Indiana and later became the face of AIDS during the mid 1980´s. White, being a hemophiliac, contracted the disease from a contaminated blood treatment. After being diagnosed with AIDS in December of 1984, the doctors gave White only six months to live. To the surprise of many, White lived five years longer than the experts predicted.

His father was an alcoholic with a violent temper, and was homophobic. At the age of eleven, he suffered a blow to the head from the swings. This caused to have frequent blackouts for five years. Gacy’s blackouts stopped once the doctors found a clot in his brain.

Chris Farias was an alcoholic who was arrested several times for driving under the influence. Farias had a family who always celebrated special events consuming large amounts of alcohol, and him as a kid he always watched how they drank excessively like if it was nothing bad. His parents never really taught him the dangers of consuming alcohol because their perceptions and experiences where different from any other person. Francisco Pizarro was one of the many conquistadors who explored the then New World. It was also known as the Americas. Pizarro mainly conquered the South America area where Peru now stands. He is best known for overthrowing the Inca king Atahualpa and establishing the capital Lima in Peru. Pizarro was born an illegitimate child of Gonzalo Pizarro, who was a spanish captain who did several campaigns in Italy. When Pizarro was a boy he was intrigued of stories of the New World, he gained a quick interest in exploring. So he joined Vasco Núñez De Balboa on an expedition to the Americas. On this expedition they discovered the Pacific Ocean. Of course the Pacific Ocean was already found by early settlers but this was probably the first time someone had actually documented the findings of this huge mass of water. Francisco Pizarro also had threes brothers who accompanied him on his road to conquering Peru for Spain. He also had a partnership with Diego de Almagro, which went bitter after a few years of adventuring.
