Swift’s second album, Fearless was her Album of the Year winner in 2009 and claiming that Grammy made her the youngest Album of the year winner ever. In 2014 with Taylor’s second album, 1989 lead her to be the first ever to have 3 albums that sold 1 million copies within 1 week in the U.S.A. 1989 also lead her to claim the Album of the year award for the second time in her career making her the first women and fifth overall to win the Album of the Year Grammy twice.

The Harlem Renaissance was an artistic, social, and cultural explosion during the 1920s in Harlem, York. This flourishing of African-American culture was an accomplishment in itself, given the times. The early 1900s was a difficult time for African-American people, and a difficult time for women, so one can imagine the difficulties that a woman of color would have endured. Ella Fitzgerald defied those odds, transformed the face of the jazz world, and paved a way for other African-American women to achieve stardom.

By taking a look at Van Gogh’s Starry Night, and further researching into it, we are able to notice the meaning behind it. Van Gogh’s first creations were earth-toned scenes of nature and peasants. However, after his well-known breakdown, he was put in an asylum, and his art style changed severely (National Gallery of Art.). One of the paintings he created in this period of poor mental health was the famous Starry Night, a painting made with oil on canvas (MoMA Learning) with heavy brushstrokes that, in my opinion, look similar to the ocean waves.
