Imagine you are at church on Sunday morning praying, when all of a sudden the cops pull up. The cops demand to come into the church and take all the people that are praying. The cops grab you by the arm, you have no choice but to go with them. You ask the cop why are you being arrested the cop replies, “You are not supposed to be following this religion.” Freedom to me in America is being able to believe in whatever we want to believe in. We can believe in Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, or any other religion. Only in America can you practice any religion and not be made fun of or forced upon it. In Burma their main religion is Theravada Buddhism, if you are a Burmese citizen you have to register with the government to become part of their
Freedom is the ability to express one's beliefs, wishes, desires, and so on. When people think freedom, they may think of the West being a major symbol of it. However, that is not necessarily the case in several instances. Freedom should be the ability to walk freely, as Chief Joseph described. The unfairness towards the Chinese, Native Americans, and the Hispanic Americans counteracts the idea of the West symbolizing freedom.
Many of countries do not have any freedom at all. In some countries if you say something the leader does not agree with you could be executed or thrown in jail. In America, we have freedom of speech and can say whatever is on our mind without being prosecuted. We must keep fighting for our rights every single day or someone could come in and take it all away.
A few weeks ago, I was assigned to give a speech in my communications class about my background. After giving my speech, my professor excitedly approached me and said “wow, that was very inspirational. When I saw you, I thought you were just a privileged, pretty boy whose parents worked in the tech industry.” Believe it or not, this is not the first time I have gotten this reaction.
To begin with, America is the poster child for freedom because it is seen as the land of opportunity. Why is that? Evidently, there are countries all over the world that have freedom and are free to practice their own religions. “It’s not surprising that Italy doesn’t have government restrictions since the Vatican-home of the pope, the leader of the Roman Catholic Church and one of the most popular religious leaders in the world- is in the country.” (Herb
The America I believe in has freedom. Freedom is a thing where people who live in the country such as “America” can have the ability to do most of the things they want to do most, meaning you just go out and rob a store, or murder someone. According to (whatever website I found it on)“The Four Freedoms” and they are freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom from want, and freedom from fear.
When I think of Freedom, I picture America. America is one of the few countries on Earth that is considered to be free. Freedom is such an important part of America, it is in our national anthem,: “O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.” The United States of America is a country that was founded on freedom. Brave men and women sailed across the Atlantic to escape persecutions in England in search of new land where they could be free. Later, this same breed of determined individuals fought against the most powerful army in the world, at the time, and won their independence. Those people laid the foundation of America’s freedom and paid for it with their lives.
Along with the right to practice religion comes the right to not belong to any religious community. Because of this freedom,
First of all, freedom of religion is very important, you are allowed to believe in what you want and no one can do anything about it. In some other countries, if you break their rules of religion, you may be killed or excommunicated from the country that you reside in. Without freedom of religion, this country would not have as many immigrants, because that is a big reason that some immigrants come here.
To be free, is being able to do what you want to a certain extent, with some rules. Being free means having all of your rights, not having them jeopardized or taken away. Many don’t have the opportunity to be free or have rights and are limited with the many things they should be able to do. All over the world we should have the same rights and have the same ability to be free. Although, there are some rules and laws that should be followed.
In 2012, members of “Bible Believers”-- a group of Christian street preachers-- were kicked out of an Arab-American festival in Dearborn, Michigan. When the Muslim crowd became violent, the preachers contacted the police to protect them. Instead, the police told the preachers to leave the festival or be arrested.
First off, you must know that I completely and utterly adore you. I have never found a celestial being as extraordinary as you. I had the chance to see you in all your glory but sadly did not get to meet you personally, shake your hand and thank you for everything you do. I love your villainous ways (even though you are my HERO), being bad really never looked so good! Please don't take me as some weird fag-hag. I just enjoy you because you wreak havoc everywhere you go. I really wish those feminazis, and the other shameless people of the left had as much pride as you do. You make America Great Again ("Daddy's" just the cherry on top)! I don't have a question, I just ask that you keep being your beautiful amazing self, and offending all the
I know that this is coming in very late, I know you probably won't even read this, I know that the opinion of an ordinary student from Mason City probably doesn't matter to you, and I know that my voice is only one in a sea of thousands of others, all of which are probably more capable, intelligent, and worthy than I am. And yet, I'm still writing this, and I still ask you to please listen to me, because I couldn't live with myself if I didn't at least try. So, I am here, politely asking, or more like begging, you to change your vote to Hillary Clinton tomorrow. I'm aware that this is unprecedented and generally incurs a small fine, but it is possible, and it is the only hope I have. Donald Trump wishes to "make America Great Again," but I believe that we can't let him do that. Donald Trump cannot make America
Today I found two pennies on the ground. If you look at them, one of them is very old and the other one is basically new. If you look closer one of them has the Lincoln memorial on it and the other has a shield. But if you look even closer they both have 6 things in common. But the things they both have are the most important. They both have “Abe Lincoln”, “One Cent”, “United States of America”, “Liberty”, “In God We Trust”, and “E Pluribus Unum.” But what I am trying to say is it doesn’t matter what year it is America is America, it doesn’t matter who is president America is America. Seconds, minutes, hours, days, months, years will go by and everything will be
Freedom is being able to worship the God of my choice, in the way I see fit, without fear of ridicule, reprisals, or discrimination. It is the ability to speak my mind, and express my feelings freely and openly, even if unpopular, without fear of oppression, suppression, or imprisonment. Freedom believes in, and celebrates, the unique God-given rights and gifts of every individual man and women. Freedom is strong and bold and proud. It does not fear. It will not waiver.
Freedom has a large range of meaning. The encyclopedia Britannica defines freedom as “the quality or state of being free, and the absence of necessity, coercion, or constraint in choice or action” (Britannica). In the American society there is a lot of emphasis on freedom, and the right to be free, but one must question to what extent we are truly “free”.
