Mr. Cook, Good afternoon, I am interested in teaching some on-line Criminal Justice classes and wanted to reach out to you to see if you had any opportunities for meat Vol. State that I may be qualified to teach. I have attached my resume and other documents of interest. I have not as of yet completed my Master's, but I am close to the end of my program with my last day of class being the 11th of March, 2018. Thank you, for your time. Robert
When I first started college, my academic goals were to learn as much as possible, join a Christian fellowship, get into the criminal justice program, decide whether or not to go to graduate school, and to graduate in four years. In addition, to also to either get a job or get accepted into an internship. My overall goal was to enjoy and make the most out of my college experience. My career goals back when I was a freshman, were to figure out if I want to join law enforcement or go to law school and find a job in the field of criminal justice, while being happy working the job. Over the course of two years, some of those goals have been achieved and some goals have been changed.
While reading this week’s chapters one of the most promising future technologies that caught my attention and that I think that it can impact in a good way the future of the criminal justice system was the courtroom 21 project as the national standard in all courts in the United States because it will allow cases to be explained more clearly to the jury and judge and at the same time the courtroom 21 project can make the courts work more efficient which will result in cases to be solved quicker avoiding the backlogs of cases. The courtroom 21 project started in 1993 and it is located at William & Mary Law School in Williamsburg, Virginia (William & Mary Law School). The whole purpose of the courtroom 21 project is to create and implement existing
The criminal Justice Advisory members met in room 7242 and discussed issues of importance since the last meeting, which was held on October 28, 2014. Originally, it was though that Captain Weldon Bullock of the Vance county Sheriff’s Office would chair the committee. However, after a review of the previous minutes members learned that Captain Bullock was not the designated chair. The law enforcement personnel designated to chair the meeting was not present as the Criminal Justice Advisory Meeting had been divided since last year. Some of the members which were not present Tuesday were now part of the BLET Advisory Committee. Mr. Clements inquired if there was anyone present who would take on the leadership role of the committee. Sandra Baker graciously stepped forward and assumed the role. Likewise, Reverend Willie Darby agreed to serve as the vice chair of the committee.

Our facility offers one-on-one counseling. This counseling will take place between a prisoner and a criminal social service counselor in a guarded room. The counselor will be able to have multiple sessions with prisoners to find the root of their problem and hopefully be able to work on ways to resolve some of their underline issues. They will be able to
Should the U.S. Judical branch take action to prevent wrongful convictions and improve police investigations, or should the government spend its time and resources on other things?
Criminal Justice has numerous avenues in which to follow so making the choice of what specific field to choose a difficult decision. This is not a choice that should be taken lightly nor in haste but one that should be contemplated and examined closely. I have done an enormous amount of research on many of the fields of criminal justice narrowing it down to three: Forensics, Probation/ Parole and Homeland Security. For me personally, these are the best three choices given their potential for being challenging.
The course that I feel that I made the most progress on is Criminal Justice 205. I believe I improved in many ways such as being able to identify what the crime being committed was and being able to understand the laws in general. I was able to develop my thinking skills and perspective on how I viewed crimes and the criminals mind set. The assignment that helped me clarify the subject and the way it was written was writing analysis papers. In the analysis papers I had to identify the crime being committed and observe his actions. The intent and actions being made during the crime scene has a lot to do with convicting criminals for example a killing of a person by another is homicide but if the killing is unjustifiable or premediated its murder.
As a child, if you asked me what I wanted to be when I grow up, and I answered a lawyer undoubtingly. Once my parents denied signing any of my financial aid forms for school, all of my optimism for that dream went downhill. One thing that has always been consistent is my love for fighting for what is right for the people. My passion for the law and people aided my decision to join the military. Upon my retirement from the military, I was compelled to enroll in the Criminal Justice program at Saint Leo University. After attending a few courses, I deliberated on becoming a forensic psychologist. I believed that becoming a forensic psychologist would allow me to be involved in legal cases while being the eyes and the ears of the courtroom. As time went on I pondered, if I would be helping people or the court system. Now, my interest in the subfields of psychology lies between forensics and counseling. I am not as knowledgeable in either area, so I plan on taking a course in each class to see what feels right. Being in the military all these years, have made me desire to do what my instincts say I was born to do.
the fact of the matter is that the individuals are sick and tired of the hearsay "tough on crime reality", as the economic prospect of the convicts have always been a part of the country's criminal justice system for many years. Creative ideas were needed for the implementation of the rules and policies of the Marion County
Terrorism has never been in the States; only in third world countries. Since 9/11-2001 is has been a reality and ongoing nightmare and hit close to home. The attack on the World Trade Centers in New York was a wakeup call. United States has been on high alert ever since, waiting for the next possible Terrorists attack. This paper will explain why terrorism is a law enforcement concern as well as how terrorism is considered a crime. At last the paper will state some recommendations that the American Criminal Justice should do, to better prepare for future crimes.
Do you remember when our policemen had to ride around on horses to get from place to place? Most probably have heard about it, but think to themselves ‘all I have ever known as police cars and motorcycles’. For over a century the world has been making advances with technology in all areas of life, and the field of criminal justice has not been an exception to this technological advances. These advances in technology has taken the criminal justice field a long way from riding a horse bareback to driving armored cars. These advances along with many others have almost completely changed how things are handled in all aspects of the law.
The criminal justice system is a group of institutions that work together to protect a society, prevent and control crime, and maintain justice; enforcing the laws regulated by society. As the years have gone by and society has evolved; so have the criminal justice system and its methods to accomplish its role in society. This short analysis will evaluate the main facts that have been affecting the criminal justice system for decades and have influenced the evolution the justice system is enduring in a changing society (Muraski, 2009). Amongst the changes in the system, we will discuss the effect the changes have had on the citizens and how their perceptions have evolved as well.
Before getting into studying the field of criminal justice I learned that my previous knowledge about prisons and prisoners was either completely wrong or very incomplete. My first original belief was that the worst kind of people were in jail. That if you walked into a jail every person that you would see there are the worst of the worst. Another original belief was that if someone was in prison then they did something that put them there. These original beliefs came from the typical sources you get growing up, your parents, school teachers, and peers. Growing up I was taught that prison was where the terrible people went and it’s a scary place that you don’t want to be. But the moment that impacted me the most about prisoners was my senior
As stated above, as a criminal justice major, academically, I have gained the ultimate development and background of the Criminal Justice System and its practices from my Intro to Criminal Justice and Criminal Law class; how they implement the laws and apply them to crimes, offenses, and offenders. The whole concept of the criminal justice system is to uphold social control, deterring and mitigating crime, or execute sanctions for people who violate the law. Throughout my Criminal Justice courses, I found certain concepts interesting; the concepts that I found most important surrounding the Criminal Justice System were Deterrence, Rehabilitation, and Punishment. These three major factors are substantially the main functions and focus in regards to offenders. Deterrence, rehabilitation, and punishment are elements that help offenders readapt back into society so they can reestablish all of the mechanisms they need to be successful. They prevent future crime, implement reconstruction, and issue consequences. They are significant and crucial factors that the criminal justice system used to promote safety, change, and justice. Deterrence focuses on future behavior by both individuals and society. As a result of offenders receiving punishment, people will deter or discourage from committing crimes in the future. The hedonistic calculus argued that harsher punishment for committing a crime will cause pain rather than pleasure and crime would be prevented (Seiter, 2017). It is basically the concept of making the punishment outweigh the reward or pleasure. I learned that they are two kinds of deterrence which are specific and general deterrence. Specific deterrence is preventing an individual offender from repeating the same crime over in the future while general deterrence focuses on society as a whole and prevent them from committing a crime in the future (Seiter, 2017). The criminal justice system also believes that it is important to focus on the offender's attitude and behavior and tries to improve them for the can reenter into society as law-abiding citizens (Seiter, 2016). Because of my Corrections class, I learned that correctional facilities have all sort of programs the deal with drug/alcohol abuse, mental
