Ares played his most significant role in Greek Mythology during the Trojan War. He is also important due to the fact he is the son of the King of Olympus; Zeus. Ares also created the god of love named Eros or Cupid that would go around committing mischievous acts. Finally, Ares is also important to Greek Mythology because most of the children he had with Aphrodite are important.

Though Ares was not favored by many didn’t mean it troubled him, in fact, he made sure to live up to his title angering many and keeping few close. He had conflicts with a well known and adored hero, Hercules, was a popular story in the few Ares is mentioned in. Hercules is one of the few heroes that caught the attention of Athena gained support from her in this battle where Kyknos (Ares’s son) was killed by Hercules who was sent by another god named Apollo who was unhappy with him. This only angered Ares and led to one of his few defeats since Athena was helping the hero.
