”Never confuse the size of your paycheck with the size of your talent.”-Marlon Brando. This is very true when it comes to supporting actors. Many times the supporting actors will get payed less than the lead actors, of course there are exceptions to that case, but for the most part that is true. The funny thing is, you can’t tell the story without other characters. Just think about the movie Cinderella, she wouldn’t have been able to go to the ball or meet the prince unless her fairy godmother a.k.a supporting actor, came to her rescue. She wouldn’t have ever meet anyone in the first place unless there was a prince a.k.a another supporting actor. Some of the most iconic films wouldn’t be that way if it wasn’t for the supporting actors helping …show more content…

When you see yourself living out your dream, the thought of what you're most passionate about pulls you in. Passions in one's life change based on what had affected that person. Dreams are defined to change. However, the benefits of these thoughts is that they belong to you and only you. Not one person's opinions matter but your own. Chris McCandless simply was living out his own ideal life, the way he wanted; not to the idea of his parents, his friends or of society. McCandless wanted to escape society and civilization which he felt was tying him down, while also trying to discover himself. McCandless is not by any means a wacko. He was simply defying society and its ideal expectation it holds upon us as a whole.
Into the Wild written by Jon Krakauer illustrates the life and death of Christopher McCandless, and his search for the true meaning in life. McCandless’ family was well-off and he graduated from Emory University with honors. Everything in McCandless’ life came easy, and because of this he wished to find what it meant to work for something. Through his perilous journey across the United States, McCandless found a way to inspire others everywhere he went. His independent and carefree mindset inspired other adventure seekers. Because McCandless desired to push the status-quo, he trades material wealth in order to find the richness in life.
Although John may had been on death row, he made moral decisions throughout the film, even at his worst times. In The Green Mile, John Coffey was born with a gift; this gift allowed John to help heal people and also change the will and mind of the people he encounters. In the film, John first reveals his powers to Paul Edgecomb when he heals Paul’s urinary infection. After this event, Paul begins to see John as a good person, which leads to his suspicions about whether John actually did commit the crime for which he was convicted of. John uses his gifts for good throughout the film. Doing so, it shows that John himself, is a moral person. This shows a sense of morality within John, since at his worst times he is able and is willing to help people with their situations. John’s desire to help for the better good, portrays a righteous quality within John Coffey. In addition to John Coffey's decision to help others for the good of it, he had made a moral decision to go through with the execution even though he was innocent. Before John’s execution, John uses his powers to show Paul Edgecomb his innocence. As he does so, it makes Paul and the other guards hesitant on putting John in the electric chair. But John decides to go through with the execution, as he wanted the pain he felt and heard by people being ugly to one another to go away. To John Coffey himself, he
In the beginning of the 20th century Texas discovered a major economic game changer. In January of 1901 in Spindletop, Texas oil was discovered in the form of a 100-foot geyser. When the 1920’s came around oil became a major economic engine. Causing major social changes in job opportunities, education, marriage, and sports.
A potential subject for an essay reflecting the second prompt would be a place of importance such as Munds Park Arizona. A photo would be provided showing family playing a competitive game of corn hole with the beautiful pine trees in the background. Despite the beautiful scenery, Munds Park is a place of importance due to the family aspect that is enforced when an individual is around there. At the family cabin, an individual not only can relax the entire day if desired, but they could as well go outside and enjoy the perfect weather and views. Other activities include going on a family hike even including the dogs or taking the ATV out into the woods for a ride. Nighttime activities such as making s’mores, playing board games, or watching
To begin, all of it goes back to the constitution. In article IV, there was a cause, called the fugitive slave clause, which ordered states to deliver up fugitives from labor when they are requested by slaveholders. This set the path of the country towards war.
Because of this funding, more women are being recognized as victims and have equal access to help regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation and immigration status. Hence, in addition to saving lives, VAWA 2013, saves money by reducing or even preventing future violence as well as related social costs.
On March 6, 1857 the U.S. Supreme Court rule against Dred Scott who was suing for federal citizenship. All nine justices agreed that African Americans who descended from slaves could not enjoy the political community established by the constitution or have the right to federal citizenship. Majority of the justices also agreed that the Missouri Compromise of 1820 which forbid slavery in the part of the Louisiana Purchase north of 36°30′ latitude was unconstitutional. Chief justice Taney stated that individual states may grant citizenship to African Americans but that did not extend their citizenship nationally under the provisions of the Constitution. Taney declared that Scott could not sue in the United States Courts since the courts were reserved
Esteemed teacher at Elk Grove High School was arrested Thursday morning. Two Elk Grove police officers barged in on her first class of the day not only to find that she had controlled substances on her, but she also tried planting them on a student in said class.
Every state should’ve been like Longtown in the America 200 years ago because Longtown was a free place for everyone no matter their color. Longtown needs to be taken care of the most because it’s the first town where race and color didn't matter. An article published by Washington Post titled “Ohio town holds rare history:Races mix freely for nearly 200 years” and a youtube video called “Vanishing Act” both explains how a town in Ohio was one of the first places to be free of discrimination. According to Washington Post, a descendant of James Clemens who brought the land for Longtown named Connor Keisser stated that in his childhood memories he used to play with cousins that had different skin colors. Longtown was the first place where there

The Arabian Nights is renowned for its multiple uses of enframed narratives. The layering of stories adds new meaning to the various tales of The Arabian Nights by bringing up new questions. In every story one reads, one finds themselves asking why Shahrazad would tell such a story, what kind of message is this tale giving Shahriar, and why bother telling another story within an already enframed story. However, The Arabian Nights is not alone in its use of the enframed story. Works inspired by The Arabian Nights use their own enframing devices in order to alter how one perceives and understands the stories these offshoots have taken from The Arabian Nights. The adaptations this paper will look at include Disney’s Aladdin film, Pasolini’s Arabian
People judge others through stereotypical analysis, where untrue, negative thoughts about a person are based on precedent assumptions. The Youngers’ faced these issues when trying to move into a predominantly white neighborhood called Clybourne Park. The family was alienated by the neighborhood in multiple ways. In one particular way, the community board thought that the Youngers’ would make the predominately white, upper-middle-class neighborhood unclean because of them being the only black family to move into the neighborhood. There were times when the Younger family received unwelcoming looks and unfriendly responses from their neighbors. These types of accusations were morally wrong but not unusual for this era. To properly get an analysis
