While at Green Mountain College I hope to grow in knowledge and in experience. I want to not only grow in the classroom but outside of it as well. In order to do this I have to set goals for myself, goals in academics, being more involved in the community, and future goals (after graduating from college). Setting goals will motivate me to want to fully achieve what I want. I need to plan out what I need to accomplish my goals in a realistic way. I need to remind myself that taking criticism and getting out of my comfort zone is ok.
While in college I hope to achieve academically, growing in all ways possible. In the writing aspect I will learn how to write more clearly and more fluently, I will be able to describe fully what I see and feel while journaling. While learning new writing skills I also hope to improve on the skills I already have. Becoming more expressive with all of my writing I feel is very important, improving on that will flourish my writing. I will improve my mindset with my writing and academics, not over thinking on assignments. In general I will improve in all things I already know and do. To develop these new and improved skills I need to take advantage of all

I will be involved in many other activates and clubs. I want to branch myself out there, get out of my comfort zone and learn new things. In order to do these things I need to set aside time out of my day to be involved. Supporting others is also a good way to be involved, going to sporting events, school music events, community events such as fairs and festivals .The job I started has already opened so many opportunities to be involved with other people, I need to take that opportunity and use it. So far I have already started a bible study one day a week at the college. I hope to plan/ help plan events just being involved with the school and community will help build my community
When I first started college, my academic goals were to learn as much as possible, join a Christian fellowship, get into the criminal justice program, decide whether or not to go to graduate school, and to graduate in four years. In addition, to also to either get a job or get accepted into an internship. My overall goal was to enjoy and make the most out of my college experience. My career goals back when I was a freshman, were to figure out if I want to join law enforcement or go to law school and find a job in the field of criminal justice, while being happy working the job. Over the course of two years, some of those goals have been achieved and some goals have been changed.
my goals in graduating college. I do not feel that I am a great writer, so please be patient while reading
In “How Do I Write a Text for College” (The World is a Text, 2006), Patty Strong said that writing in in college is much more different than writing in high school and so as the purpose of it. In high school student were told to write texts depending on their prior knowledge while on an institution of higher education students have the flexibility to write not only about what they already learnt but what they are trying to learn. In addition, writing in college requires a higher level of critical thinking and understanding, but it will unequivocally expand their knowledge.
Going into college, I would like to peruse many of my goals. I would like to start out getting my general studies in and then build up to become a Registered Nurse. After I accomplish becoming a Registered Nurse I would like to work on becoming a Nurse Practitioner. One reason I am striving to complete these goals is to be able to have a good future and hopefully a good job will come out of this. Neither of my parents went to college and I want to be able to accomplish that for myself.
Because I have identified several tools given to me – and that I am aware of my purpose, I can now set goals. My most immediate short-term goals as a college student include: becoming proficient at balancing my time well, soaking up the information that I am being taught, making great grades, serving my community, traveling and studying abroad, and attaining internships and scholarships.
During my four years of high school I have been involved in a lot of clubs and activities such as anti-bully club, stand up to cancer club. I have also gonna to a lot of the sporting events and the plays. My hobbie is playing volleyball, I have been on the volleyball team for the past four years and every practice and game is so fun. Even when I graduate I intend to continue to play. I also love going to the beach during the summer and hanging out with my friends and having a good time. One of the classes I am taking is Entrepreneurship and I find it
One of my teachers once said “most teachers quit after five years.” I suppose this is how I know that I picked the correct field. I have been dedicated to the education of children since 2003, when I started my degree in the subject, and when I was hired for my first job in the field. Broome Community College was the start of my education. Once I received my associate’s, I transferred to Suny Cortland to obtain my Bachelor’s degree. At Suny Cortland I graduated with a dual degree in early education, and education.
Here are some suggestions to help you become successful in college. Start off with goals and a preliminary plan that you can put into practice with your education. If you want to become a STAR, write down these important words: specific, time, areas and reflect. Here is what these words mean. “Write down specific goals. Write goals in several time frames. Write your goals in several areas of your life. Last, reflect on your goals.” (Ellis, 2010, pg. 67 & 68) You can use several tools to help you accomplish your goals. You can use your calendar or write a to do list. (Ellis, 2010, pg. 63, 71 & 86) Take your time, brainstorm and evaluate what you have written down.
Currently, I am crossing a huge bridge from high school writing to college writing. Which means there is going to be plenty of room for my writing skills to progress in various ways. After putting thought into where my weaknesses may be in my writing I have arrived to a conclusion of 5 personal goals to improve my essays. My 5 goals will be the pillars that keep my bridge up and from collapsing, by the use of these 5 goals I will easily transition from high school writing to college writing.
With this being my first year in college I expect my skills and relationship with writing to improve drastically this semester. Along with improving my skills I hope to accomplish my goals of being more confident in my writing because I tend to second guess myself. Also I have a habit of worrying that my words wont come out the way I would like them to. I hope to
College writing, to me, is also a place to monitor growth. As I grow, I’m constantly learning and soaking up more knowledge through experience. I fully expect to grow academically this year as I take on college writing because, not only am I training my writing, but also my creative and critical thinking skills. These skills are needed quite frequently in school and It’s sad to say that I haven’t been challenged enough
As a senior I hope to accomplish many goals, some of them being in high school and some relating to college. A goal is an aim or a desired result, but may not always be achieved. Going into senior year I have aspirations of going to a good college and working for higher grades.
I enjoy being involved in my church. By lecturing, greeting, and ushering I have learned to have confidence in myself and am able to go out of my way to make others comfortable and welcome. In the near future I would like to be able to create activities that will make religion come alive for the younger children.
For my overall college education there are many goals I hope to achieve besides just a college degree. First off, I hope to have a great education and learning experience throughout college. I also would like to grow a reputation for myself that can help me in a positive way in the future. I hope to be more involved in leadership and throughout Iowa State University. At the end of my college education, I hope to have many opportunities for a career and my future.
Above all, my personal goals are to learn as much as I can and make my family and myself proud of what I’ve accomplished. I’ve realized that college is a great opportunity to further my education and I want to take advantage of that by taking in as much knowledge as possible. The reason for this goal is to know that I did the very best I could when I graduate college. Not only will that make me proud but it will make my family proud too. Staying motivated, focused, and determined is going to be the key to
