My Identity
Who am I, Why am I myself? Well my family might connect over oddball things, those things are a part of me and make me special. I would put money down on the fact that other families don't bond of Law and Order: SVU, but we do. As a result, my family makes me who I am. I’m going to put it out there, I’m a weird kid. I don’t have normal hobbies and I don’t know how to be 13. But Grey’s Anatomy, yes, Grey’s Anatomy has shaped me. By watching Grey’s Anatomy I know want to do, be a trauma surgeon: I already know that surgery is my and game. No it’s not normal, but it’s me and Grey’s Anatomy has molded a big part of my life.
My religion has identified me as me. I believe in God and God’s love has shaped me into the person I
As the days go by, I can gradually find my identity by focusing on myself and my mental health and spending time with those I didn't have time for. In the chapter, it is often mentioned that we are the image of God. It and the image of God relate to me as I want to act with good intentions, and as I find new ways to my identity with not being an athlete, in whatever I find myself doing, I want to do it with good intentions and effort. As a creation of God
Loving and worshiping God began to be more and more part of my daily thinking, motives, actions, and decisions.
Interactions between people are never ending. The effects of one conversation could affect the outcome of that person’s life, consequently changing their identity completely. There comes a time, though, when dealing with others confident in their identities, where one must ask themselves the personal question of “who am I?”. No matter if you’ve just stumbled upon this question, in the process of discovering the answer, consistently changing your answer, or confident in your answer, the people around you are the ones you have to thank for molding your personal identity.
Our identity is in Him, we have been given a choice to follow that path he has provided for us or to choose to be pawns to the evil all around us. When we choose to follow God, we are then filled with the Holy Spirit. (Romans 7:25) “For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.” Your body may die but we will live on forever if we are filled with the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 8:13) As we fill our hearts and minds, we find our gifts and our identity in God and in nothing
Becoming Who You Are was written by Apostle Dutch Sheets. Dutch Sheets is a father, and a general to this generation. Sheets’s goal is the seeing of America experience a sweeping revival and return to its godly heritage. Most of the Church struggles with their identity in Christ. I was taught that once you know who you are in Christ, you attract the right people, and begin to live to the fullest of God’s intention for you. This book gives biblical based truths on who you are in Christ and how to mature and grow into the person God has called you to be. This is more than just a book about identity, it’s an action plan that helps believers defeat the lies that prevents them from walking into their God intention. The moment you dive into this book you begin to start to see yourself rightly, and you literally have the eyes of Christ placed on your perspective. This book is broken down into three parts, with five to seven chapters each. Each part is a stepping stone into how to walk in the Spirit to your original design. The summary of each part drips below to take you on a journey for this incredible book of inspiring revelation.
Everyone on earth is defined by their core beliefs. It’s what makes us all individuals, what separates us from the others. It wasn’t until I was talking with my friend Sean in 8th grade that I started to realize that one of my core beliefs, something I was taught growing up, may not be my own belief.
Practicing a religion or having religious beliefs is a tremendous deal and can help us through our journey of life. In an article by
The person who I am is composed of hundreds of identities, being a sister, a daughter, a student, a woman, conversely, one identity transcends others- being Hispanic.
J: Well, Religion is a very intimate thing for me. That relationship you have with God is unlike any other. You can always count on him, he will never let you down. Me becoming more and more successful
There are many factors that shape us into who we are, and who we will become. Some of these factors we can control, while others we cannot. While we are born into many traits of our identities, much of our other behavior is learned. My identity, for example, is “based not only on responses to the question ‘Who am I?’ but also on responses to the question ‘Who am I in relation to others?’” (Allen, 2011, p. 11). My identity and the question of who I am, are both influenced by many aspects of my life, including my hometown, my family, my friends, and my beliefs and moral values.
How do you identify yourself? What do you use to really identity to others who you are? So people use terms like mother, father, friend or find it in religion or materlisitic things. In the witty and heartbreaking graphic autobiography, Persepolis, Marjane Satrapi uses a childlike tone to address an internal struggle within a mind in identity crisis. Marjane’s childlike point of view cannot comprehend God’s role in the domestic turmoil of her country. Marjane was “born with religion”(6) and treats her relationship with God as if it was a friendship. God comes to Marjane in times of solitude to discuss how she finds her identity in being the last prophet, the troubles within her family, and how she feels about her world as a child in the
Who I am? Personally, I believe that a person’s identity can take only one of two routes. One, a person’s identity can change within that person’s life. Who I am now, is not necessarily who I was when I was younger. Experience can and will likely modify our identities. Therefore, experience can solidify our personal identification or it can weaken our personal identification. And as such, individuals and their perspectives are always evolving, or at the very least, they should evolve over time. Although there are some identities that evolve throughout one’s lifetime; there are some identities that remain consistent. Two, some identities cannot and will not change. So identities are socially and/or politically forces upon you, some identities are genetically assigned to you, and some you choose to keep. No matter the reason or reasons, these identities have been and will be consist within your lifespan. But, how you deal with them is up to you as an individual.
With given a choice of what to write this paper, I could not get past the subtle nature of who we are as God’s creations. This fundamental truth of our identity is simplified with the truth of our identity in Jesus. We are created in God’s image with a purpose here on earth to display all of God’s greatness, His beauty, and to reveal all of His character aspects. Best of all, we are completely dependent on God. This new enlightenment of my identity in Christ as God’s creation will allow me to help people around the world become one with Christ by revealing the truth of their identity.
As I look back on my k-12 school experience and reflect on how I saw student diversity; I think that I was not aware of it as much as I am now about it. I do however, I do remember a few time that I did see it, for example in elementary school. I was in ESL and once a week I was pulled out to meet with my ESL teacher. I noticed that it was always the same small group of student being pulled out and so did the student in my class. I personally felt different from them, but at the end of the day I loved going. The reason why was because my teacher made us feel like individuals and let us share our culture with each other. I learned more about others’ diversity and culture in that small amount of time that I was with her then when I was with my actual teacher. Mrs. Mueller made us embrace our differences while still learning the lesson that we needed to go over.
I decided on The Marine Corps and being a Firefighter as my two careers because I’m really passionate about both of them. Most of my family has been in the military. Since I was a kid I have always wanted to join the Marine Corps. I also really like Firefighters because just like the marines they risk their lives almost every day and i have much respect for everyone that serves to help others in the line of duty. No one really inspired me going into any of these career paths except for my family because they try to push me to my full potential. I feel like these careers can push me to have higher and better goals then what i have now. Although becoming a Firefighter would be amazing I feel that joining the military would be more satisfying as a career path.
