Whether you're dieting or trying to cut down on sugary desserts, there are ways to satisfy your sweet tooth without actually taking sugar into your body. These recipes have fruit as their main ingredient, which means they're a lot healthier than sugar alternatives. They'll still make you feel as if you're not depriving yourself of sweets.

Grilled Pineapple with Yogurt and Pistachios

For your pineapple recipe, it's best to stick with the actual fruit. Stay away from pineapple in a can since it often has added sugar and syrups.

This grilled pineapple recipe has the ability to be adapted to your own tastes. If you don't like pistachios, try it with sunflower seeds or crushed walnuts.

Make sure the grill or pan is lightly oiled. Each side of the pineapple can be grilled for approximately 3 minutes. During the cooking process, you can mix the yogurt, milk and honey together. Plate the slices once they're done cooking. Drizzle the pineapple with the honey yogurt sauce and add the nuts.

Warmed Pears in Honey

This recipe calls for pears, but the choice of pear is up to you. For variety, you might decide to add Bosc, Concorde or Bartlett pears together in the recipe.

3-4 pears sliced 1/4-inch thick
2 tablespoons of honey
1 cup of yogurt

In a bowl, mix the pear slices with cinnamon until they're coated. Set a pan onto the stove on a very light heat, and add a coating of honey to the bottom of the pan. Add the pears into the honey gently. The pears will grow softer as they heat. After a few minutes, turn the pears gently. Once both sides are warmed, plate the pears and add a dollop of yogurt to the top of them.
