Would you rather have a long term goal in your life and work hard to achieve it or give up on it in a month? Grit means that you keep with a goal your life and work to achieve it, I had grit in my life when I was little and I have it now as a teenager, part of the quote is “Grit is passion and perseverance for very long-term goals”. That states that it is better to keep your long term goals and work to achieve them. The quote means to me, that if I put my mind and body to a goal and work hard to get it I will get that goal. This quote can be connected to my life, the arts, and the world around me.

In the movie, Michael starts out as a boy in the hood and he is always getting in a lot of trouble and he is moving to a new school. The gym teacher sees how athletic he is and tries in on the football team, but he doesn’t know how to play football. The gym teacher's wife sees how hard he tries to play football, but he is not there yet. They end up adopting him and he is part of their family, he trains and starts to become a very good football player. He is black so when he is playing football games other team’s fans say very racist and mean things to him and try to discourage him. He fights through that by playing even harder on the football field and then the fans stop saying things to him. He was playing so good that colleges started to look at him and he got many offers. He chose Ole Miss and had a very good career there and then went off to the NFL and played for the Ravens and now still plays for the Panthers.
