In 1997, while bow hunting in the Ocala National Forest. I saw two large male bears eating grubs and one of them caught and begun to eat a Cotton Tail rabbit. They were approximately ½ mile from each other. It seemed like the very second that the bear with the rabbit tore it apart, I saw the other bear lift his nose to the air and was at a full run and was to the other bear within a minute. The first bear was bigger, but the second bear seemed to be hungrier and quickly took the remains of the rabbit away and out of sight. Thinking that it was a waste of time to remain in the area I returned to my jeep to head back to camp and get some lunch for myself. Upon reaching the logging road that lead to my jeep, I found large bear prints within my

Then people began to start hunting them down. Other things were companies such as gas, mining, land development that destroyed their habitat. Their population started to decrease in the 1970s, and then the state put a law in the grizzly bears to keep them from going into extinction. By doing this, Grizzlies have made a comeback by bringing their population back up now. People can still hunt them, but it was to be limited. People have donated money and did fund raisers to keep the bears from dying off. Grizzlies have been spotted only in the lower 48 states in America. While in the backcountry never ever travel alone always try to travel with a group or a few more people other than yourself. i am working-class, black, gay, queer, autistic political activist, who has ideas and concepts which challenge the images typically featured in extremely white Bear Culture. Bear Culture is a subculture of gay men that are often larger or medium and hairy. When I explored the subculture as a part of my process of coming out as a queer man, I saw very few black men and people of color in the culture's media except for works made by Japanese gay men who identified with the Bear Culture and other gay artists of color. Japanese artists like Seizoh Ebrubashi, Genoroh Tagame, and Kazuhide Ichikawa produce work that is not Eurocentric, feature aspects of their culture and feature men that are Japanese instead of making work featuring mostly White men.

There are many people who I look up to on a everyday basis. Teachers, parents, sports coaches, and even everyday people showing random acts of integrity. But the person at the top of my personal hero is Tee Grizzly. Now I'm assuming most of people reading my essay don’t have any idea what a Tee or a Grizzly is. Well, maybe a Grizzly but that’s besides the point. Tee Grizzly is a rapper that was born in Detroit, Joy road to be exact. Making songs about his childhood talking about how he came from nothing to now being one of the most trending rappers in the game. He inspires me tremendously.
Ask any child about constellations and they will know about the star formation known as “The Big Dipper”. The stars that form this asterism (Dubhe, Merak, Phecda, Megrez, Alioth, Mizar, and Alkaid) are the brightest part of the constellation they make whole, Ursa Major: The Great Bear. Although the constellation is certainly common enough to recognize, I hold a more personal attachment to it. I grew up nearby a convent which owned a crest marked with Ursa Major. The convent was a central root of the area, so the people often had the crest and familiar Ursa Major constellation everywhere. When I look into the night sky and see these familiar stars, they remind me of the people in the area who became close family and friends. Like the bear it symbolized, this constellation will always be like a mother bear protecting my sweet memories as if they were cubs.
