6. Discuss the guidelines and principles that one should consider in developing a survey/ questionnaire? Before starting to develop a survey, consult the local IRB requirements and regulations to ensure approval for the survey. The first step of developing a survey is to decide what kind of data you want to collect and why you want to collect it. This will guide the types of questions created and make it more relevant to the research. The next step is to determine the demographic and how the survey will be distributed. In order to be successful, a researcher must know their audience and how to best collect data. For example, an email survey is less effective if a researcher can deliver a paper survey during class. This is because the researcher has a captive audience with the class and people can automatically delete the email. When developing questions for the survey, keep it simple and make sure it is ethical with no bias. Questions that collect personal information and identifiers will most likely not be granted IRB approval. Biased questions could be, “we think we have a great service. How great do you think our service is?”. The tone of the survey can affect the response, causing it to become invalid. A better response, “How was your experience with our service?”. Finally, make sure to review the survey, making sure all questions are appropriate and everything works. A good practice is to send out the survey to a few people so they can provide feedback. Once all

Suggest finding a time to conduct the survey in person, as opposed to emailing a survey.
6) Prepare the survey for analysis. Set up the code sheet for this study. How will this study be set up to be tabulated by a statistical analysis program like SPSS?
Starting with the introduction of the survey they seemed to be too specific in their intro of what was going to be in the survey by describing each type of question that would be presented throughout the survey. I feel like this information isn’t necessary and over excessive in an introduction. That part of the introduction should be taken out and instead maybe include something along the lines of “Please read every question carefully and thank you for participating” or something along those lines.
Surveys are often used to evaluate systems within health care entities. Such objective data is often used by leadership within an organization to evaluate the effectiveness of organizational systems and processes. Suppose there was a recent decline in patient satisfaction, employee satisfaction, and culture of safety surveys. As an innovative healthcare leader, how would you approach addressing this recent data?
This does not seem too difficult and I am confident I can ask my questions properly in a five-minute timespan. I recognize that if I go over five minutes, some people may grow frustrated or disinterested into my topic. Another thing I will keep in my mind during my survey is understanding people’s responses. Since I am doing this entirely in person, if a person if confused they have the ability to ask my thought process right then and there, as opposed to doing an electronic survey. The same works in reverse, if I am confused about a response I can ask for immediate clarification.
An example of the survey is contained in the Appendix. The survey asks questions that can
What, in your opinion, are the most important rules to observe when creating a survey instrument? Why do you consider these to be the most important factors in survey construction?
Next, you would decide on how to word the questions, then you establish how you want the flow of the survey and ensure the questionnaire meets with the original objectives.
In survey design and administration, there are various approaches, which can be utilized to assess validity and reliability of a survey instrument. These approaches are used to make certain that the survey instrument accurately captures the data that is need as well as provides reliable results of over time (Phillips, Phillips, Aaron, 2013). To assess, the validity and reliability of a survey instrument, researchers conduct a review of validity and reliability during survey pilot testing (Phillips et al., 2013).
For me, I do not have enough knowledge about this project and there are so many topics that I do not have an enough in depth knowledge. And I am serious about the part of doing a questionnaire survey.
Use appropriate methods, and be transparent about sampling, the variables used for weighting, question wording and timing of the opinion poll.
In survey method research, participants answer questions administered through interviews or questionnaires. After participants answer the questions, researchers describe the responses given. In order for the survey to be both reliable and valid it is important that the questions are constructed properly. Questions should be written so they are clear and easy to comprehend.
After reviewing the survey, I found it to be very lengthy and redundant. Some of the questions are asking the same thing but the wording is slightly different. Also, the survey is requiring the employees to recall information that occurred several months ago. My improvement suggestion would be to reduce the length of the survey and make sure that it is geared more towards the objective of the survey.
