In today’s America, violence is becoming a great concern to everyone in the nation. One of the major problems in America is the way it's portrayed instead of handled. There many people trying to intensify gun control laws; but, increasing gun control laws is not that way to go. Although, weapons have the potential to kill, they are also used for protection. There is a large pool of murders and not only by firearms. For example, the FBI has statistics that roughly 4,000-5,000 murders were committed from 2009-2013 in the United States with weapons excluding firearms. These other weapons include the following: knives, blunt objects, personal weapons, poison, explosives, fire, narcotics, drowning, strangulation, asphyxiation and much more that
One of the most important legislation part for control violence in today's society are certainly the laws related to gun control. As with every important question, there are two opposite opinions on whether in Wisconsin we should have about gun control. My opinion is that we should have more gun control in Wisconsin. My point of view is based on the ability to better protect women from domestic abuse; the threat of people who already passed background check, and the necessity to reduce mass shooting in Wisconsin.
In deadly crimes, the type of weapon used has no effect on the fact that someone is still dead in the end. Many people have access to weapons, but few will ever actually use
According to the 2010 study there were 31,672 fatalities due to firearms. The following year the number went up to 32,163. Homicides that are a result from guns are relatively high in the States and they take more than eleven thousand lives a year. According to Vision for Humanity, an initiative for the Economics and Peace, the United States is ranked 99 out of 162 countries in the 2013 global peace index, homicide rates and violent crimes are among the various criteria used to determine the ranking (Vision of Humanity). Mass shootings at work places, schools, shopping malls and places of worship are happening in an alarming frequency. While the Newtown shooting is one of the horrific ones, it certainly isn’t the only one that happened in the last two years alone. There were several other mass shootings that took the lives of many all across America. While there are other significant problems in America that need our attention, in my opinion, increasing rate of Gun violence is the most significant problem in American that needs to be addressed.
Gun Control in the United States has gone out of control. The United States should enforce laws to not allow any guns in a house hold in order to reduce violence and crime in the country. Reducing the rate of crime in the United States, controlling big weapons, taxing ammunition, and gun collection can help make this happen. Gun Control can make this country a safer environment to live in.
Gun control is the set of laws or policies that regulate the sale, manufacture, transfer, possession, modification, and/or use of firearms by civilians. Are the United States’ current laws for gun control effective? Is the U.S. in need of reform or enactment of new laws? Alarming statistics indicate that the status quo is ineffective. Gun control laws in the US should be stricter and uniform since there are an unusually high quantity of gun-related incidents in the U.S.. Additionally, countries that have more rigorous gun control are shown to have drastically lower gun-related death rates. Through stricter gun control, we may protect the country and its future generations from people who should not be able to obtain firearms.
Gun control has not been effective in the history of the United States. Even with laws that restrict gun ownership, it will not deter or prevent criminals from obtaining weapons or crimes from happening. Statistics can back up both sides of the gun control argument, but in reality simply having stricter gun laws does not stop crimes. Even with stringent gun laws criminals will find ways around them legally or illegally.
The United States have been “ranked first in international gun ownership rates with 88.8 guns per 100 people (about 270,000,000 guns total)” (ProCon.org. 2016). Additionally, the United States, in 2007, had “12,632 gun homicides (4.19 deaths per 100,000 people) and 17,352 gun suicides (5.76 deaths per 100,000 people)” (ProCon.org. 2016). What this shows is that both Switzerland and Finland had lower death rates due to their confining gun control laws. Hence, the United States should follow in these other countries’ footsteps in increasing gun regulation to lower homicide by gun and suicide by gun. Moreover, in a March 2016 study, “gun homicide rates in the United States were 25.3 times higher and gun suicides were 8 times higher in 2010 than
Gun control is different for different countries. Some states in the US have decided to change things for themselves since they aren’t many federal laws for gun control. Gun control is something that is different depending on where you live in the US. For example, in some states, there are strict gun laws where as in others there are barely any and it is very easy to get your hands on a gun. Many people get angry when they hear the words “gun control” because they do things like hunt and need guns to do so. Many others just like having guns for self-defense and feel safer with a gun on them.
Many would agree that there is a distressing amount of violence in America. Violence takes place in many forms, in different severities, and in many places. In an effort to continually make our society more civilized, ways to stop these violent acts from occurring are always being contemplated. There are many ways to approach the epidemic in America, but one that has increasing popularity is applying more strict gun control laws. Strict gun laws are viewed by many to be a step in the right direction, but they are actually a potential danger to the citizens of the United States.
Gun control is a big thing in the world today. Many Americans want it but also many don’t. There are both good reasoning’s and there are bad reasoning’s. Gun control is for our own safety but can also take our safe feelings away by knowing we won’t have a gun in hand to protect us in a real time of need. The second Amendment is commonly used when trying to set up the restrictions and rules of these gun control laws. There are a lot of regulations being set up and still are being made to “keep us safe.” Strict gun laws can be good for American citizens but they also can be life threatening in times. There is a never ending debate on gun control and Americans will always fight for their rights. The government should not be allowed to regulate the purchase on the owning of guns.
he shootings that has happened all through the Unites States has made an great divide among Americans on what ought our country do to keep further shootings from happening. Numerous individuals trust that forcing new laws on how people buy weapons should require background verifications. Gun Control in the United States of America is a topic that has had lots of criticism and support by numerous citizens. The critical people of this topic trust that the guns don 't murder people, is that people kill people. The supporters of this topic trust that weapons lead to violence and a feeling of power over others. They additionally believe that if firearms were eliminated with from the public, then violence and death would diminish intensely in this nation. These two restricting perspectives leave the government open to a choice on whether or not to abolish one of our Constitutional rights, or to continue permitting individuals the privilege to possess a firearm. There are numerous issues that should be looked at in order to decide which laws are important.
Gun control has taken the center stage as one of the debates polarizing the American society. It is necessary to explore the issues of gin control. For this reason, gun control can be taken to reference laws, rules and policies that are aimed to regulate the use of firearms, their manufacture, modifications, sale, transfer or possession. The recent event in Dallas where Micah Johnson shot and killed five police officers while injuring several others has brought to light the public debate (“Micah Johnson”). Additionally, society has live through shootings, such as Columbine to the Washington DC sniper, that made Americans not wanted to walk anywhere there was not covering nor drive their vehicles on the highway. The indiscriminate use of guns
“After the worst mass shooting in American history, in which 58 people were killed and 489 wounded, both the president and the majority leaders in Congress sought to keep talk about the new gun laws a minimum,” (Deathly Silence). There are nearly 30,000 gun deaths every year in America. Gun control is currently a highly debated topic in the United States. Creating more strict, more protective gun laws in order to prevent a large number of future gun incidents would likely reduce gun related deaths in America. An unclear Second Amendment creates disarray, and does not stop daily shootings, nor mass shootings.
The legality of having guns and possessing firearms in the United States of America is well engraved within the Second Amendment of the nation’s constitution. However, the issue of gun regulation has remained a central topic in America’s public. Some people advocate for a total ban on gun possession, while others are totally against this idea. The shooting incident in Las Vegas weeks ago has raised controversial debates in the United States of America. In fact, the White House is concerned on the stand that President Trump will take on the issue of stricter gun laws. One of the cities that has gained the attention of both the legislators on this topic is Chicago. For its reputation for its low rate of gang arrests, lax punishments for gun law violations, and comparatively weak laws in accordance with surrounding states, it is justifiable to say that Chicago’s daily shootings are a clear indicator that strict state gun laws don’t work.
Imagine being a parent and walking into your child’s bedroom, seeing them lying dead in a pool of blood with a gun still in their hand. I believe there should more laws controlling who can have a gun and what kind of guns should be allowed to the public. Guns should be more regulated and less accessible to the public and there should be more laws created making it harder to buy a gun. Gun control laws are needed because it would put more control over who can buy a gun and would reduce the availability. In recent years, there has been alarming rates of mass shootings, suicides and homicides, and an increasing amount of gun related accidents.
