With the presidential elections coming up, people are choosing a president who will help the United States of America and improve all of our lives. There are many things the future president will have to fix and improve, most of those things have little impact on the citizens of the US. There are, however, a handful of issues that can have a major impact on our lives, and deciding what will happen to those issues is crucial. The major issues involve having tougher gun laws, which can really make a difference. With weak gun laws, people’s safety is at risk.
In states with weaker gun laws, there are more illegal gun sales, since the states don’t pay as much attention to gun sales as much as states with stricter gun laws. People who buy guns
There are gun control laws to try and reduce the number of violent shootings that occur. They are trying to put limits on weapons that Americans can own. The government is trying to take our guns away mainly because of people that are criminally insane. Most of the people who commit crimes don’t even have the weapons legally. If the government takes away the rights of people who are allowed to have firearms in their possession, it will most definitely cause an outrage. Most people believe that the people should be more capable of maintain proper use of the firearms instead of having them all taken away. Taking the firearms from Americans away would cause a lot more problems than there actually are. The people will be upset with the
Gun control is a controversial issue for a long time around the world, particularly in U.S. because of a lots of mass shooting in school and public places. The second Amendment of the U.S. constitution is one of the shortest in all of the bill of right, it was written by the time period of American’s birth and it is the spirit of self-defense that help the new citizens of U.S. win their own freedom from the British. But now as the gun shooting problem happening every day in America, this gun control problem has gradually become to a hot issue. Compare to other countries like Britain, Canada, Japan, China, the difference between U.S. and those countries is in these countries to get a firearm is a very difficult thing
“The right to bear arms”, an amendment so prioritized by our founding fathers that it earned the very second spot on the list of birth rights as Americans. However, with constant tragedies striking the United States, such as massacres in public high schools and universities, mall shootings, and attempted assassinations on state representatives, it’s no wonder law makers are constantly debating the topic of gun control.
A hot-button topic in the world of U.S. politics today is the controversy over whether or not new gun laws need to be instituted to keep Americans safe. We are a nation that believes in the Second Amendment, and one that sticks to traditional values. With this, comes a great deal of incongruity, which makes for a very sensitive debate on gun control. On one side of the spectrum, we have those who take a more liberal stance; while they do in fact support the second amendment, there is no doubt that the U.S. has evolved significantly since the Constitution was written, hence creating a need for strict gun laws. On the other side of the spectrum, conservatives argue that as soon as executive action inhibits the fundamental principles in which
America is known as the land of opportunity, freedom, fast food, and raging numbers of gun violence. According to Mass Shooting Tracker there has been about 367 shootings so far since the year started (Mass Shooting Tracker). This is outrageous considering that in other countries, gun shooting numbers don 't even reach a two-digit number. Far too many people have been victims of these unregulated weapons, claiming lives and ripping families apart. There is no safe place from these assault weapons, no movie theater, night club, church, or school. American’s must deal with the fact that any unsuited person is legally allowed to purchase a weapon with the weak regulations we currently have. Assault weapons have been damaging for this country and it 's time to change the laws. Gun regulations and laws need to be stricter to make it harder for individuals to purchase guns to prevent any future tragedies from happening.
The debate for gun reform is at a boiling point, because of the mass shootings that have been mercilessly tearing bullet-sized holes through the fabric of the American people, for the past 10, plus years. As a people, we can no longer sit idly by, without demanding change in the form of gun legislation, that would protect, we the people, while learning in classrooms, worshiping freely at church, or while attending country music festivals. Although
Weapons have been a big problem to the United States for many years now. People have access to many weapons just as easy as the US Military does. The people of the US can both go to a gun store and buy a weapon at the age of sixteen, or they can make a deal with anyone in the streets of the US. Because of the accessibility to weapons, Americans can cause collateral damage in the neighborhood they live in. They can also commit robbery, or go anywhere and start shooting.
In this section the author talks about the Second Amendment how it is strangely phrased and for most of American history, its meaning was thought to be somewhat murky. “A well-regulated militia composed of the body of the people, being the best security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”
The effectiveness within current gun policies in the United States of America have undeniably evoked debate, as the number of gun-inflicted fatalities continues to increase each year. An issue with such weight on a nation, has been regarded as being treated frivolously inside the United States, as many citizens query the degree of action that has been made to end this growing topic. The stance of enforcing stricter gun laws within the United States, such as limiting who may carry firearms by requiring background checks for all gun sales, has been argued by many. For many Americans, gun control can be regarded as either being the solution to reducing gun violence, or a complete violation to their Second Amendment. For an issue like gun control, that could possibly impact an entire nation, partiality becomes easily entangled in discussions that surround the topic. News sources inside the United States, such as The New York Times, as well as certain foreign news sources, such as Al Jazeera, employs data to support a particular position, rather than personal opinion. When analyzing certain sources from foreign countries, such as Pravda, and their account on the United States’ growing gun concern, there is an undeniable degree of extreme dogmatism surrounding the approach in solving gun-induced violence.
The gun violence and gun control in america needs help but should we add more guns laws. Do you think we should add gun laws to make it more difficult to purchase a weapon. I think that their should be more gun laws to make it harder to purchase a gun any every state.
In America, mass shootings are increasing every year. “According to the Brady Campaign, 31 Americans are murdered with guns every day on average.” (Kelly) “On average, every day, 55 people kill themselves using a firearm and 46 people are shot, or killed, with a gun by accident.” (Kelly) “Nine out of ten Americans agree that we should have background checks nationwide.” (Kelly) “Right now, our current background check system only applies to about 60% of gun sales which mean 40% don’t do background checks.” (Kelly) “About 270 million firearms are owned by Americans, which would be about 90 guns for every 100 people (Smart Gun Laws).” Guns are getting in the hands of mentally ill people and children which just isn’t very safe.
The United States of America is the leading country in gun manufacturing. In 2013 alone 11 million guns were produced and placed in markets for sell. Dylan roof a man with multiple arrests for trespassing and drug possession was able to pass a background check and was able to purchase a firearm from a gun shop. The 21 year old, later committed a hate crime murdering nine African Americans at a Charleston church in June 2015 (USA Today, 2015). This wasn’t the first nor the last time a shooting of such caliber has happened in the United States. The fact that purchasing a firearm is easier than ordering an item from another country is horrid. Something needs to be done to decrease such violence and keep the population safe from a madman with a gun. Having stricter gun laws
It’s been brought to my attention that gun control laws have an ever-growing presence. People have made claims that guns made the world a dangerous place. Sure it does, but that doesn’t mean that they should be banned. It comes down to the person using it, not the gun itself. Some may argue that gun control laws would help, but it really won’t. They say it will make less crimes, less suicides, and many other things.
Living a life in America, we all get to have all the rights that included in the Constitution. One of those was the Second Amendment which is the rights to bear arm, the purpose was to protect ourselves from danger but nowadays a lot of people have take advantage of it and use it in the wrong way. I believe our government need to have a strict limit on guns possession.
