1. The topic I chose to study was gun regulations. 2. My topic is socially significant because many people every day die from the result of gun violence. I wanted to search if there was any way we could improve our gun regulations, and thus reduce how many people die from the gun violence. 3. The most surprising thing I learned doing my research was how oppose the NRA (National Rifle Association) is to any change in gun regulations. They are the main reason many new gun regulation rules are never passed. I also learned how easy it is doing research. 4. If I was to write a research paper on this topic, my thesis would be gun laws are the cause of much violent crime in America and need to be changed so that it is more difficult to obtain guns thus reducing gun violence. I like this scholarly article because it examples why people have guns. The first reason is for recreational purposes which include hunting, collecting and sporting. They are most likely to be white, male, middle-class and Republican. They are also likely to be from the South, and have the belief that it is their right to own a gun. The second reason people have guns is for defense. They fear crime, or they have been a victim of crime. Some think the reason for many people having guns in the South has to do with their higher crime rate. Personally, I don’t understand why people would have them for recreational purposes. There is nothing manly or fun about a man hiding in a tree and shooting a defenseless animal who is just minding their own business. I understand the having them for defends. We need to be able to protect ourselves. This article was overall a great read. "Gun Control." Gale Encyclopedia of American Law, edited by Donna Batten, 3rd ed., vol. 5, Gale, 2010, pp. 175-180. The studies and research on gun control has opened up many ideas on how weak the current laws really are. Crime rates consist of high numbers. “Since 1982, there have been at least 62 mass shootings across the country, with the killings unfolding in 30 states from Massachusetts to Hawaii”
Intended Audience: My target audience would be Americans who are active voters, as they are the people who would be able to make relaxed gun rights a possibility. The topic would also be valuable to young adults who are approaching voting age and are forming their own opinions of laws and regulations that America should enforce. This topic is also appropriate for any person who would like to see the Second Amendment of the Constitution protected, and to have the right to protect themselves and their families from harm.
Eighty-nine people depart from this earth due to gun violence in the US every day. From school children, to victims of domestic violence, to people going about their daily lives, this status quo is unacceptable. On Tuesday January 5th, 2016 President Obama announced that he would send proposals on reducing gun violence in America to Congress. His spokesman, Jay Carney, mentioned that this is “a complex problem that will require a complex solution.” The ability to own a gun is considered by some a birthright of Americans. However, with crime rates involving handguns rising each day it has become quite clear. Handgun laws must become stricter in order to reduce homicide and crime. The question is, “which solution in most effective in decreasing gun violence?” Gun control is a major conflict that is constantly reoccurring and the US is seemingly divided over it.
An ongoing and highly debated social problem that continues to grow in our society today is the gun control epidemic. Gun violence in the United States is a national epidemic. Many people take advantage of guns using and manipulating the tool with hardly any thought. Countless lives have been lost due to fact that people have been able to obtain firearms legally or illegally and have taken the notion to be judge, jury and executioner in holding ones live in their hands. This is a common issue that will continue if action is not taken as a nation to try and stop it. Gun violence can lead many citizens to believe that no place is deemed safe anymore and recent tragedies that have taken place in United States holds up that statement. In
Why is gun violence such a major issue in american and in what way could we help to stop it. It is important to consider that 12,000 people lose their lives in the U.S. each year due to gun homicides. Another thing is there has been 286 mass shootings in 2017 alone. Some more things to be put to thought is the school shootings and better ways to prevent them. Another key thing to remember is gun control and how it can be fixed.
THESIS STATEMENT: Implementing stricter gun control laws will only effect law abiding citizens, stricter punishments will affect those that do not abide by the law.
Thesis: I believe gun ownership should be harder to obtain because of the numerous amount of controversies of gun ownership.
Guns have been around for a very long time. People love being able to have the freedom to do what they want, especially when they can possess something that make them feel superior. The introduction of the Second Amendment opens up the controversial, yet well anticipated opportunity for United State citizens to be able to own guns. Americans enjoy the benefit of being able to own guns for decades over people in other countries. People can buy guns and carry them around in public. They own guns for many reasons such as to hunt, to protect themselves, and simply to satisfy their desire of owning a gun, but in recent years, the issue of people carry guns has become a problem. There are so many people get killed by guns in different parts of

GUN CONTROL BY MASON MCKENNA Gun Control has been a controversial topic for decades, ever since firearms have become easy for anybody in the U.S. to buy. Gun Control is the thought that guns should be much more restricted or even banned to prevent the large amount of gun violence in the United States. People who are for Gun Control say that difficult access to dangerous guns will restrict the amount of people being attacked or killed by firearms. People against it say the 2nd Amendment states that all citizens may have the right to bear arms, and that having guns can overall prevent more death by having a way to defend one’s self. There are already bans on certain guns and those who can purchase them at all, but some say it is not enough.
Topic Sentence: Gun control laws will not prevent the number of homicides related to firearms.
Guns have always been a major problem in the United States of America. The Second Amendment to the Constitution gives us the right to “bear arms,” which makes everyone feel they need to have a gun, and that can lead to dangerous situations for people in the US. It is very easy to get yourself a gun. It costs less than an iPhone to get. The problem I am trying to get at is that there are inevitably going to be gun-use violations, and people can use the Second Amendment to get guns way too easily. My essay will deal with how we can create laws and practices to regulate guns, how we can stop guns from getting into the wrong hands, and also how we can prevent mass shootings.
To start, I will present my topic of research and also I will give the source that I have used for my research. My research is about the Assault Weapons Bans and weather or not they help or hinder American citizens. This topic of research is a topic that has been researched by many important people in the field of criminal justice. My source that I have found is below.
iv. How do the researchers answer the questions? This is contained in the methodology section or some equivalent. The question posed was answered with several different proposals presented throughout the article. Some of the proposals consisted of consistent monitoring of every gun dealerships across the US, licensing and training of all potential gun owners, safety mechanism to prevent accidental shootings, and regulations for private gun sales.
Topic: The Government of US should not allow people to buy and use gun for personal purpose.
