In the past, America stood for something. We had rights and most importantly we had freedom, but they weren't just given to us. We had to fight for them, and in today's society, we abuse that and it is turning into a war against ourselves. America is use to fighting for something that they want. With mass shootings, and illegal immigrants causing our country to be overpopulated, we stand and watch as our nation slowly cripples. A way to solve this problem is to fix it with something that we do best. Is to fight, and for that is to have a purge.
An annual purge, one day a year, for 12 hours. All crime is legal, and all government services would be suspended. It will allow our country to settle out our differences, which will put our country

Put another way: While the U.S. has 5% of the world's population, it had 31% of all public mass shootings.” And the best solution our government can think of is to ban guns. Guns are not killing people, people are killing people. With the purge, it would lower the number of crime rate. Instead of living in fear of a mass shooting that could happen at any minute, why not just have it all happen on one day, and live the rest of the 364 days in peace?
With illegal immigrants overpopulating the United States. We have not done one thing of stopping it. it is causing unemployment, which is causing people to live on the streets. With the purge, it will lower population and the unemployment list. It is a win win for everybody. The poor die when the strongest survives. Even without the help of the government for one night, how are they going to fund the money for clean up, funerals, and other problems relating to the deceased? It can solve more than that and actually help our country with debt. The government supplies security in houses for people who don't want to get involved with the purge, or to save their home from destruction. With the unemployment going down, payment goes up, which people will have more money to pay for the expensive security, which the government can use towards
Therefor we can say that there was no mention of an individual right to bear arms in the notes about the Second Amendment when it was being drafted, discussed, or ratified; the US Supreme Court declined to rule in favor of the individual right four times between 1876 and 1939; and all law articles on the Second Amendment from 1888 to 1959 stated that an individual right was not guaranteed.
Specific Purpose Statement: To persuade my audience that each individual must take responsibility for his or her own actions. The must not blame guns for problems caused by people. .
Attention Getter: “The battle over guns has proven to be one of the most dangerous in America’s culture wars- and with the murder of 58 people in Las Vegas Sunday night, the debate over how to regulate them has begun again. The argument over gun control isn’t merely about safety. It’s about identity. The gun has transcended its function as a weapon to become a powerful cultural marker. It can signal what kind of person you are, and often to which tribe you belong”. – amp.usatoday.com
There are certain dangers that children are guaranteed to encounter in their daily life, and teaching children important safety practices fall upon the adults in children's life, whether that be parents, relatives, and teachers. Throughout their life children are going to be offered drugs, cross busy streets, and be bullied by other kids. Schools have put safety and educational classes in place to mitigate the risks of these issues of drugs and street traffic, yet teaching kids about gun safety seems to be lacking in most public school settings. It does not matter whether someone believes in the ownership of guns or not, guns are here in America and despite the controversial view on firearms, there should be firearm safety education taught
constitutional rights, as well as if it becomes effective in states, that would make people want
All too often in America, we wake up to the awful news that something horrific has happened. Recent mass shootings such as the slaughter of 58 innocent lives in Las Vegas, and the disgusting massacre of 26 men, women, and children in a small-town Texas church leave all americans appalled and disgusted of the carnage. No one deserves to die such a brutal, innocent death. When things like this happen, we look for someone, something, anything to blame. After every mass shooting comes the topic of gun control to the surface. Many people want to blame things like 30 round magazines or semi automatic rifles. In reality, what we really want to ban is violence, and murder, and insanity. However, we don’t talk about that because deep down we
First I would like to thank you for signing the Stockman-Broun letter. It is great to know that you are supporting our second amendment rights. Like you, I am a supporter of the second amendment.
Many people believe that guns are bad and that banning guns will make America a safer place, I will inform you today about how if we take guns away it will hurt America more than help. I chose this because this is a very popular topic in America and because I believe it will make America a more dangerous place rather than a safer place. Today I will inform you about the reasons gun control will hurt America. I will do this first by informing you about recent gun control efforts after the Parkland Shooting and how these efforts will not do a thing to America. Second, I will tell you the movement for gun control and how if we tried a different approach, by allowing guns, it would be more beneficial to the American people in many ways. Then the
The United States of America is a nation of massacres by military-type assault weapons. Aware of the deadliness of these weapons and due to public safety concerns clearly outweighing the benefits of personal ownership of military-type assault weapons, the United States passed the 1994 Federal Ban on military-type assault weapons. This ban was notably effective during the 10 years it was in effect. However, the Ban automatically expired in 2004. Since that time, the number of U. S. mass murders has markedly increased. Attempts to reinstate the Ban, most recently the stricter 2013 Ban, have all failed. Nevertheless, the less restrictive 1994 Ban did pass the Senate and House of Representatives at one point and was successful. Therefore, the 1994 Federal Ban on military-type assault weapons should be reinstated.
Specific Purpose: The purpose of my speech is to persuade my audience to inscribe letters requesting congress to reduce the gun control laws and increase the focus on people themselves.
I feel gun control should be enforced more than it already is. There has already been 142 school shootings since the “Sandy Hook” elementary shooting. “There has been over 137 fatal school shootings since 1980 alone before Sandy Hook Elementary, killing over 297 people” (Bloomberg, adapted by Newsela, “Issue Overview: Guns in America”). Guns have been connected to many types of terrorism, and killing the future of America, children who can grow up to become many things. It is in a way crippling us. Over 2,961 deaths have occurred by terrorists attacks since 9/11, in American soil. Guns can be helpful and protect us but they can also harm families, and by making these weapons so easy to obtain they also make people have the ability to take their own lives.
As of March 14, 2018, Illinois state senate has voted on a bill created by Jonathan Carroll to ban the possession and ability to purchase semi-automatic weapons in the entire state (“NRA-ILA,” par. 1). This ban of firearms is the most significant bill proposed after the Broward County Florida Shooting and would be the first surrender of firearms in the United States from American Citizens. A few other states are following in the lines of this bill and are planning to ban these “assault rifles” and raise the age of firearm purchase from 18 to 21. The reasoning behind these bans are to limit the number of deadly weapons in the United States in hope of lowering the mass shooting rates to that of Australia’s
Will there be a crew for each one of these sites, 5205 and 5206, or a single crew will handle both stores? We can’t take any chance with a single crew installing both locations. Actually, I will not be at ease until all four of these stores are fully functional before 5pm today. Therefore, please keep me in the loop with their installation progress.
Hollow fellow citizens I'm here for the exact same reason as you people. We want different in our society and we can fix it by doing simple things such as wanting better gun control and be careful who we give a gun to. Especially to a youth kid that is not mature yet, and never used a gun before. Us people want to be able to have the privilege to say yes or no a teen should have a gun. Even though we want everyone equally, they need to prove they can own a gun responsibly. We can simply have classes for teens how to use a gun properly and we can vote for this so kids can learn the history of guns and how it was used in a different way. Even grown up’s uses guns immature, a example of bad use of a gun is the Vegas shooting. This is a perfect
What is the best solution to illegal immigration? That is what many presidents, American citizens and even immigrants have been trying to figure out. Immigration is not a new topic. The issue, however, has not lost its relevance over time, if anything, it has become more apparent that something must be done. There has always been a struggle of illegal immigration, yet it was more subdued until recent years. In the late 1700’s to early 1800’s, the first immigration laws were passed, though, they were nothing like the ones today. In 1790 the first law stated that a person must have had residence in America for two years to qualify for citizenship. This is much different from the string of laws made in the 1900’s where many people were restricted from entering the United States (Fairus). In recent years Eisenhower, Hoover, and Truman all together deported about 5.5 million illegal immigrants (Hoover, Truman, & Ike). This is less than half of what President Trump wants to deport. To some this may seem like a fool’s errand but something must be done to control all 11 million of these immigrants. There has been much debate over what should happen to these immigrants who traveled here illegally, yet due to immigration being a complex issue, there are many possible solutions to this debate.
