I have done gymnastics since I was a little girl but, I wasn't always in classes. When I was around four years old I loved jumping and flipping around the house. My parents thought as I grew up I got better, better, and better with all my hard work. Finally, when I was eleven years old they put me in classes at 20-mile athletic center. When you join gymnastics you get put in the lowest rec class which is called a beginner. Mike Billy, which was my gymnastics coach, taught me all I know. After being in beginner for a few months I learned all the basics and I was moved up to intermediate. To get into intermediate I had to have a mini tryout to see if I had all the skills and was ready for the move up
My brain goes silent. I forget my problems, my issues, my struggles, and everything that makes me feel dead inside. Nothing gives me more hope and happiness, then running on floor to hanging on a bar. From the darkness inside comes a light that feels like an eternal flame that can never be extinguished. Nothing can stop me from feeling more alive. Starting gymnastics has been the best decision I have ever made and has made me the person I am today. With every move, every skill, and every moment, gymnastics makes me feel alive.
My freshman year of high school I went out on a limb decided to take a physical education class called "Advanced P.E." This may not seem too crazy, but the class was taught by our varsity football coach and only really taken by junior and senior football players. The teacher even admitted he used the class specifically to bulk up his team. I had never lifted a weight a day in my life and I was more than frightened to even take a step inside the weight room.
For my report I decided to do it on gymnastics. My report will include the history about gymnastics. I will talk about how to do gymnastics and the benefits for doing gymnastics. I will also explain how I am involved in gymnastics. In the late eighteenth-and the early nineteenth-century gymnastics began. It started in Germany. Johann Friedrich Gutsmuths and Friedrich Ludwig Jahn created gymnastics. It is different now because back then they did not have all of the things that we have now. To do gymnastics, you need lots strength and flexibility. Some of The rules for gymnastics are that on floor you have to stay inside the line so if you are doing flips on the floor when you land you must be inside the line Gymnastics is good for you because
At the beginning of seventh grade, I would always joke around that I would do wrestling, like with all the other guys. Later on that year when wrestling season was starting I decided to sign up. I didn’t know what being in wrestling was going to be like because it would be like nothing I’ve ever done before.
An African Proverb states, "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." Throughout my life I have been involved with wrestling, and although physically I am not involved in the sport, I have been impacted by the coaches and the wrestlers. Wrestling drives an individual like no other. I believe wrestling helps make a person to be a stronger, not only physically, but mentally.
To be an athlete, especially one of the three sport variety, is a huge undertaking, as it requires year-round commitment and a passion for hard work. Personally, I have played consistently in three sports since the fifth grade, and I believe this lifelong dedication has paid off for me. It’s impossible to put all of your energy into being an athlete, because while becoming successful in sports is one thing, it is an entirely more important matter to become a successful student. Balancing this can be hard and it is that balance which must be perfected in order to become a good athlete. An athlete to me isn't just someone who straps on their jersey and plays a game, it is a person who is dedicated to a sport on and off the field, and someone who exemplifies the best qualities in their environment.
Choosing a vocation can be a daunting task. With the world ever-evolving, one may come across a new attractive career every year. In order to ensure optimal job satisfaction, it is vital to educate oneself about every alluring prospect prior to committing. Simple factors like the time commitment and salary can mean the difference between a content existence and a miserable one.
When I think of coaching I think of practice planning, game planning, scouting strategizing of offense and defense, choosing my starters, little things like that. All of those ideas are valid, but that’s not the whole picture. There is a lot more to coaching than planning for a practice or a game. Many times a person who would like to coach an interschool athletic team has little or no preparation to teach sports skills and techniques. The only qualifications is often the person’s participation on his or her high school, college, or university’s team, coach of a community youth team or even perhaps as a professional player. While all that experience is valuable in one way or another, it does not constitute an adequate preparation for
Another significant extra-curricular activity I pursued for eight years is figure skating. I started at six and quit at sixteen. I like to consider myself as a successful athlete becuase I competed in lots of competitions and received approximately 30 metals. I competed individually at the regional level and with my synchronized skating team at the national level. During my figure skating career, I tested my dances, skills and solo and have almost all possible levels for each area of the discipline
"Once you’ve wrestled everything else in life is easy" - Dan Gable. Ever since I was in middle school I have would always walk by this unusually foggy room where there would be many guys grappling with their opponents as they ran out of breath and still would still have the energy for the finishing takedown. The amount of heat coming from that room was not because it was 98 degrees outside, it was build out of sweat and hard drilling. During my Junior year, I decided to be a part of the wrestling team for the weight class of 99. On the first day of tryouts I was the only girl there, my legs shivered as I entered the room. Deep down I knew I had to work hard in order to be respected and taken seriously in the team.
Gymnastics is the most popular sport in China. Gymnastics can help people relax body and mind, enhance the coordination of the body can also edify sentiment, is a kind of very good exercise. In our country, there are also many famous gymnasts who have won many places in the competition. I'm going to introduce you to this kind of exercise so that you know enough about it.
While high school student-athletes invest a lot of time and energy into their sport, the collegiate lifestyle brings a new level of difficulty that many incoming freshmen can find intimidating and overwhelming at first. In addition to being under more pressure to perform on a larger, more competitive stage in front of a more expansive audience, they must also deal with the every day challenges that normal college freshmen face: homesickness, transitioning into a more demanding academic workload, and creating a new social network. College athletes have to have their routines extremely time focused, and make time management essential to their daily lives.
After receiving my degree and certification I will need to find an open position. It is predicted by USNews.com that there will be 29.4% growth in employment outlook for coaches in the years 2010-2020. As stated earlier there is no experience requirement, the only thing suggested is to have background knowledge of the game. I plan on becoming a physical education teacher at the high school level. By doing this I will be able to find employment easier than just being a football coach. Since many of the schools hire teachers to be coaches, being a teacher will make this process easier for me to get involved with the football program from the beginning and work my way up to eventually becoming head coach. In an article by Lisa Miller, she talked about how coaches need to identify their purpose in coaching before they become one. Many are in it for the money and fame. After thinking hard about the question, I finally discovered why I wanted to become a coach. I don’t want to make millions, or become famous. The reason why I wish to coach is to be able to impact my player’s lives and help them become better men like my coaches did with me.
for me, these talents are represented through my top five strengths that were given to me from a test I took. Two of my signature strengths that I think best fit me and are the ones that will help me be successful are Competition and Analytical. Competition by definition is when someone measures their progress against the performance of others, they also strive to win first place and revel in contests. Growing up playing competitive sports at a young age is what I believe led me to be in the competitor I am now. I think my Competition strength not only best describes me but, it may also be my best feature that I can tie into to my daily life to reach success and the goals I have set forth. Being competitive got me where I am today. I’ve be running for nearly my whole life, this year makes 11 years that I have been running track and cross country and it has truly paid off for me in the biggest ways. I think that having the competitive nature will always help down the line in life. When having the competitive nature my talent is valuable because it will influence and even push people in a group to achieve more than others. I will also bring energy to a group and will be capable of energizing others to move to higher levels of excellence. Also, being competitive also gives me capability of adaptation go different obstacles of life. It often applies to the class room such as seeking out highly competitive people and study with them. You will know that you will push each other to learn more, faster. Because of hardships and challenges I have faced during my running career I feel as if I will be prepared well enough for anything coming fast at a me in life, which will also help me achieve success in the
