I helped raise awareness of obesity in our county to help in getting our percentage back down. I mentored younger children that came from low-wage families on why it was so important to eat right and get an adequate amount of activities, as well as rest each and every day. I did this by using the "GO, SLOW, WHOA" program to make it easier for kids to understand what foods are "go" foods which you can eat as much as you want, which foods are "slow" foods which are foods you should only eat every now and then, and which food is "whoa" foods which you should try to avoid this foods when ever possible. My background and life experience is different from all of the other applicant and I know that I am worth investing because as a person I know that I work hard and I can work well with other. On December 1st of last year, I was officially accepted into the University of Notre Dame. Getting this news was wonderful and I plan to attend this prosperous school for the next 4-5 years. At the institution, I will ostensibly major in biological sciences and I aspire to eventually become an Orthopedic Surgeon. The reason I am deserving of this scholarship is that, I am persistent and have the ability to put in all the hard work it will take and follow it through to achieve my goals and dreams. I believe in myself that I can achieve my goals and dreams, and I believe that this scholarship will give me that foundation I need to build a better self and enable me to become a person who will make a difference in this world.
