This is not only problematic to the self-esteem and confidence of black women, but it can also cause black women to appropriate Asian culture. Black women unfortunately take advantage of Asian culture in search of what society believes is good hair. Many black women wear weaves in order to align to what society believes is good hair. However, when they buy this hair, they do not realize what Asians go through. Likewise, Asians who give up their hair do not know where or who this hair will be going to. Each of us is unique. We live on our own not a copy to others. Hair isn’t just for looks. The hair on our head keeps us warm and protects us against the sun’s harmful ultraviolet rays, while the growing hair in our noses keeps out dust. So, what is the purpose of some hair located in our fingers?

A survey certified that average women spend about $13,000 on makeup in her life time. Not only that, but also spend 300 hours applying it. Beauty tends to increase the self esteem of women, they think more positive of themselves. Along with that like anything else cosmetology has revolutionized throughout the years. Cosmetology has played an important role in lives of women, it does not only represent beauty, but also self confidence.

Going through cosmetology school gave you the expertise you need to cut and style hair. People come to you because you make them look and feel their best. I was born a ginger! I’m sure most of you know what a ginger is, but in case you don’t: a ginger is an individual with red hair and freckles. All of this would eventually lead to opening my own salon in the future. About a month before my graduation, an ambulance bolted my mom to the hospital.

Internships with nearby salons also provide training for students. Employers are usually willing to take in students for internships because of the current job demand for cosmetologists, also they know how it was when they were students. In North Carolina, 1,200 hours of instruction is the minimum required for graduation from a cosmetology program, but students are allowed to earn ten percent of those hours by working with a licensed cosmetologist. A student might even be able to do hair styling and cutting for a client, if that client has been notified about the student and gives their approval.

All little girls grow up playing with each-others hair, it's their dream to do it when they grow up. Some will make their dream a reality, they will become a cosmetologist. Cosmetology is a good job field to go into because it seems fun. In cosmetology, there are classes that are needed to be taken before jumping into the career such as psychology, communications and media, law and government, mathematics, sales and marketing, chemistry, customer and personal services, and administration and management. Cosmetology is always growing and looking for employment always, making about $27,000 a year, cosmetologist can always make more than that once they improve. They also control their own schedule. At the moment I ask myself, why are these schools dictating these kids hairstyles? Why can’t a boy dye his hair pink or have his hair over his collar, there is no real reason for this. You should not be able to dictate these different hairstyles for the exact reason that we have our amendments and laws that give us the freedom we rightly deserve. Also, there are some boys who might have their hair long and you call that a violation, there is nothing wrong with a boy having his hair long. You, judging someone with long hair is like judging someone with curly hair, they both are just natural hairstyles.
