Hello Mayor Batri, and fellow citizens. I’m Talia Johnson and I’m here on behalf of the entire Local Aboriginal Community. Musgrave Park Can Not be destroyed by property developers and their ‘aspiring plan’ to reinvent Brisbane. I know that amongst us today there are good people, and I know that there are property developers. And, I’ve got something to say to you Property Developers. Musgrave Park is not a patch of grass on a large block of land, it is a crucial part of my Indigenous Heritage. We need to consider not only the Indigenous significance of Musgrave Park Past, and Present, but we must look at the true importance of Brisbane’s Green Space.

Just a couple miles past Mount Kato on route 66 is a small cemetery that many people are unaware even exists. This cemetery is called the Holberg cemetery. As I had stated, it is off of highway 66 which is near Rapidan, and it's hidden on a hill on a side road. It is located on a gravel road and it is surrounded by trees, thus making it unseen. The Holberg cemetery houses around a mere 20 graves, and though it may not be large, the legend of it is largely circulated by several people. There just so happens to be a gate that blocks off the cemetery so people are not able to come in and destroy its remains. In addition to that, there are security cameras surrounding the premises of the graveyard to stop any activity that goes on there. According to the MSU Reporter, the atmosphere of this cemetery is less than pleasant as it almost gives off a feeling that someone is watching. Legend has it that upon approaching the graveyard, a mysterious white van will follow those who are driving on the gravel road that leads to the cemetery. In the graveyard rests a gravestone with a burned in pentagram. This very grave is said to be the witch’s grave. Stories have been told about various unusual occurrences that happen when visiting it. Many people say that they have seen glowing red eyes in the area where the witch’s grave is located. Also, growling noises and mocking laughter have been heard in this graveyard. One of the most chilling things about this though, is that many people have sighted mysterious hooded figures gathering together while they are visiting the cemetery. Not only that, but also it has been said that those who visit the witch’s grave end up with unexplainable scratch marks after visiting. People who have visited the graveyard before recommend that if one wants to go embrace its presence, then they should circle the graveyard two times, then park about 14

Sports movies are knows as blockbuster movies. Sports movies are know for there monologues. A monologue is a long speech by one actor in a play or movie, or as part of a theatrical or broadcast program. Coach Gary Gaines, in the movie “Friday Night Lights” has a speech called “Being Perfect”. “Being Perfect” is a very powerful, emotional, and motivating speech. This speech is not your normal locker room speech. “Being Perfect’s” purpose is to inform the players and others that it doesn't take much just to feel good about yourself.

In Dr. Martin Luther King’s speech, “Beyond Vietnam: A Time to Break Silence”, King asserts that the war in Vietnam is a “symptom” (7) of a much larger disease that affects the “American spirit” (7). The disease King mentions is causing destruction where ever it is found, and in the case of the Vietnam war, it has led to their oppression and the death of people. In the section, Strange Liberators, King states, “They move sadly and apathetically as we heard them off the land of their fathers into concentration camps where minimal social needs are rarely met. Can you imagine being in Martin Luther King Junior’s position in a hall or church somewhere speaking to people with the hope of challenging and inspiring them? I’ve Been to the Mountaintop is a speech made by Martin Luther King’s Junior or 3rd April 1968. It is a speech that presented a long term mission for the City of Memphis. It was a time when African Americans struggled with racial prejudices. There were inequalities whereby the African-Americans were forced to live separately from the whites. Martin Luther King believed that if they join hands together, African-Americans will be able to fight against the unfair inequalities. King wanted to inspire the people that they can achieve justice without the use of violence.

Racism has always been a major problem in America. However, it was known to be the most problematic in the late 1950s. On August 28 1963, Dr. Martin Luther King delivered his infamous speech “I Have a Dream” to America. His dream highlighted the injustices of segregation and discrimination of African Americans that took place in this nation every single day. Dr. King inspired thousands despite the color of their skin, to take a stance against racism, with his powerful way with words. In his speech MLK efficaciously uses, Ethos, Pathos, and Logos by using allusions, developing credibility, in his speech to persuade all Americans to be aware of the problems with racism.

After reading and analyzing Dr.Kings “Remaining Awake during a Revolution” commencement speech that he presented at Oberlin College during his graduation ceremony; he wanted the people to have a good visual on what he was explaining and talking about. King wanted to inform the people about what was going; so he used allusions, statics, and logos.

"The question is not, 'If I stop to help these men in need, what will happen to me?' The question is, 'If I do not stop to help these men, what will happen to them?' That's the question." Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Included these words in his "I've Been to the Mountaintop" speech made on April 3rd, 1968: the day before he was assassinated. This particular speech was made at the Mason Temple and it involved the Memphis Sanitation Strike. There is no correct or incorrect way to interpret the quote, but I feel the words can be related to compassion, racism, and morals. King himself most likely meant for this quote to raise awareness for the sanitation workers. He certainly never would have imagined the deep meanings of his words would still take precedence some 50 years later.

Martin Luther King Jr. was an African American Leader During the Civil Rights Movement. Mr.King was also a pastor at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta. He was born on January 15, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia. He was assassinated on April 4, 1968 at the age of 39. He had 4 kids and a wife named Coretta Scott King. King was most important during the Civil Rights Movement. He was a very effective Civil Rights leader. He has many many speeches during his lifetime.
