Sports movies are knows as blockbuster movies. Sports movies are know for there monologues. A monologue is a long speech by one actor in a play or movie, or as part of a theatrical or broadcast program. Coach Gary Gaines, in the movie “Friday Night Lights” has a speech called “Being Perfect”. “Being Perfect” is a very powerful, emotional, and motivating speech. This speech is not your normal locker room speech. “Being Perfect’s” purpose is to inform the players and others that it doesn't take much just to feel good about yourself.

Racism has always been a major problem in America. However, it was known to be the most problematic in the late 1950s. On August 28 1963, Dr. Martin Luther King delivered his infamous speech “I Have a Dream” to America. His dream highlighted the injustices of segregation and discrimination of African Americans that took place in this nation every single day. Dr. King inspired thousands despite the color of their skin, to take a stance against racism, with his powerful way with words. In his speech MLK efficaciously uses, Ethos, Pathos, and Logos by using allusions, developing credibility, in his speech to persuade all Americans to be aware of the problems with racism.

Personally speaking, this past month has been a fairly active month for me, but the activity level specifically at 3867 Holcomb Bridge just hasn't been that great.

Can you imagine being in Martin Luther King Junior’s position in a hall or church somewhere speaking to people with the hope of challenging and inspiring them? I’ve Been to the Mountaintop is a speech made by Martin Luther King’s Junior or 3rd April 1968. It is a speech that presented a long term mission for the City of Memphis. It was a time when African Americans struggled with racial prejudices. There were inequalities whereby the African-Americans were forced to live separately from the whites. Martin Luther King believed that if they join hands together, African-Americans will be able to fight against the unfair inequalities. King wanted to inspire the people that they can achieve justice without the use of violence.

This book is a gothic novel, which is basically the same thing. Well, Susan Hill uses a lot of gothic features to horrify and enthrall her readers. The setting is an important part of gothic novels, too. She focuses the book on a guy named Arthur Kipps, which is sent out to attend Mrs. Alice Drablow’s funeral. He ends up staying in the woman’s house to deal with the legal documents. Here come the interesting part, it is located on Nine Lives Causeway and the house is only accessible by the pony and trap. When tides get high, it is completely surrounded by marshlands, which cuts it off from the mainland. Susan hill has the ghost only in short period of time, “All of the ghosts in the stories are only glimpsed; shadowy spectres in the fog, which makes it eerie, because you are not sure if the mind is playing tricks on you or if it is real” (Morris 1).
