My choice was the 2nd module. The module focused on the critical analysis and argument of some texts and documentaries. The texts and dvd’s were rhetorical analyzed and some question with responses were generated. My question was on Harry Moses documentary, Who the &*()$%% is Jackson Pollock?, which creative on audience approach amused me. The documentary was about a presumed missing Jackson Pollack paint that was bought at third shop. However, the documentary is also about Jackson Pollack art style. Harry Moses interviewed both side of the coin, reliable sources and not reliable sources. In both sides the interviewed person give his opinion about Jackson Pollock paints and the presumed Jackson Pollock paints. At the end of the documentary
I will pick acquiring the Human Language film. I felt that this film was more easy to understand, well organized. Also was very interesting to learn by experiments such as ambiguous sentence
Performed patient-care duties for four assigned residents. Awoke and mobilized patients. Washed and dressed patients. Examined residents daily for alterations in skin and fecal matter, reporting irregularities to team leader. Administered patient medications. Maintained patient safety by use of proper mobilization techniques. Fed patients breakfast and lunch. Communicated effectively in German with work team and residents. Stimulated residents through friendly conversation, games, and interaction. Maintained composure while living under demanding working conditions.
I chose to do House of Cards because I felt like it gave me, albeit a little dramatically, a nice overview of everything that happened in 2008. Not being old enough to remember what happened, I decided that instead od focusing on a more micro topic, I would choose one that gave me a broad view to educate myself more on everything that caused the crash, and how we can, at least try, to prevent it in the future.
I feel that the strengths in these pieces of work are how they reminded me how special our country and history as a state and a nation really are. First of all, through the projects on the Carmela Buhbut case and the summary on domestic violence. In both these projects, including the response letter to justice Kedemy I learned about the way our country treats this very hard issue with so much sensitivity. In the Buhbut case the way the court really tried to find the right balance in such a complicated case between the strike law and being humane and fair. In the summary I wrote, I learned about all the wonderful organizations that help abused women in the ultra-Orthodox community. The second aspect was through the projects on ethical issues.
I really enjoyed putting together the visual aspect of this project and finding out more about Claude Monet while connecting it to the French culture. I found it kind of frustrating to put together the biography of Monet though as I had to read through a lot of information to do so. Although this is the case, it did interest me.
One topic I found interesting was the one about Bonnie and Clyde. I've heard about them but I never heard their story. Reading it in Kyjuan Martin’s infographic created a deeper meaning of the story to me. I learned that Bonnie was very smart. She had great grades and was “amongst the brightest of her peers.” Her family raised her as a Christian and so she has always been one. Clyde, on the other hand, had a life of the opposite. He would have died as a child due to not having much to eat but his parents gave up on their farming business and searched for something that gave them more money. His life was hard but he found his safe place in playing the guitar and saxophone. Later, his brother created a criminal out of him. He was sent to a prison
I chose the topic are college athletes given preferential treatment over non-athletes while in college because it is something very controversial in college athletics. Besides being controversial, I also find the topic very interesting. It is interesting to me to find out why college athletes get special treatment to play a sport when in reality the special treatment is probably a disservice to the athletes. Another reason I enjoy this topic is that I love sports in general and college athletics are some of my favorites to watch.
It’s interesting to see two sides of Beth. The first part of the documentary we see the innocence of a child who is dealing with frustration on the inside. Her father abused her when she was a young girl. The effect it had on her was tremendous. She not only expressed her anger in a verbal way but also in a physical way. She would tell both her adoptive parents and biological brother that she hated them and that she wanted to kill them. At the beginning of the documentary we see how Beth shows no sense of guilt or conscience when she is answering the questions the psychologist is asking her. One of the things that shock’s me the most about the adoptive parents is their reaction to the situation they had in front of them. As a mother if I caught my daughter physically
When deciding which idea to choose for our documentary we ran into a bit of a conflict. We all had many ideas but most of them we had to rule out because they wouldn’t be suitable for Yyear 5fives and 6six. This left us with only a few ideas left. Brooke and I quickly agreed on one, but it took a bit lLonger to convince Luita. We finally choose to do whether cats or dogs were the better listeners and more obedient. We decided this because not only would it interest our age group of choice but we could make it subjective. We used subjective techniques such as like direct interviews, voiceover and direct narration. Us as a group did not like our target audience. Personally, I thought that our target audience limited what we could choose to do and how we could can approach or given subject. We had to makde it easier to understand and had to leave out certain things which were for not being appropriate to the Yyear five and six age group. One
The assignment I choose to redo as my creative revision was MWA-2. Originally, MWA-2 was an academic essay on the documentary “The Central Park Five”. For my revision, I wanted to do a movie review poster on the documentary “The War You Don’t See”.
During the period from starting of the Collaborative Learning Community till date, there has been considerable progress related to the assignment. The preliminary work was directed towards the completion of the agreement and individual task assignment, which was completed successfully with mutual understanding. The next important part was to select a vendor, which was completed with some research and from the member’s experience with particular product.
Getting to know Mark Williams Jacob at first was very difficult. He was very shy and was not willing to open up at the beginning of the interview. He was not interested in giving out information on his personal life. But over time he started to develop a trust with me. The more I did not force him to answer the questions I presented to him he wanted to answer them. I let him wander a bit and listened to what he had to say. He is a very shy but at the same time very open and outgoing person. I would like to learn more about him as time goes
The focus of this investigation is to determine if there is a correlation between emotional well-being and the rising cases of adolescent depressive disorders. This investigation will be limited to adolescents, as defined as the period of transition to adulthood, (reference) according to the World Health Organisation. The conversion from childhood to adulthood is known as the ‘tough years’ and appears to have become increasingly complex due to the social, economic, environmental and technological changes faced by today’s generation of young people.
The remix project broadened my knowledge and understanding of rhetoric. This was done through a lot of thinking, sharing ideas, writing down my thoughts, recording videos, and editing. The remix project required me to use critical thinking as well as creativity. The main task is taking writing and ideas and putting it into a visual. The visual required for this project is a five-minute video. At first, this made me feel a good amount of confusion as well as some nerves. It’s overwhelming and intimidating to think about having to film a five-minute video with not a lot of specific guidelines. It would take a lot of creativity and imagination to think of a great captivating film. In this reflection, I will share my process of how this project
My first choice is “Life in Color” because I am extremely passionate about working with people with disabilities and I want to learn more about the way that art is being used to help people with disabilities express themselves. As a person with a disability, I feel that one of the biggest challenges that people with disabilities face is that they are often stigmatized as not being able to contribute to society, however this program seems to overcome that stereotype by putting the spotlight on the art that people with disabilities can create. My second choice is “You’ve got a friend in me” because it also focuses on empowering people with disabilities to provide for themselves and equipping them with the skills needed to gain employment. My
