In an ABC news article posted on August 27th this year a Division Chief by the name Harvey Cornwell was charged with 1st and 2nd degree assault on his wife. Mr. Cornwell works for the Anne Arundel County Fire Department and is the Division Chief of the operations bureau for the Northern and Western battalions. The report says weapons were confiscated from the home but none were used in the assault. The findings that led to Mr. Cornwell’s arrest was hand marks on his wife’s neck. This is a prime example of the responsibility we firefighters and fire officers carry on and off the job. . Most departments and municipalities
During our negotiation with D.G. Barnhouse (DGB), we intend to utilize an integrative bargaining strategy with management. Before coming to this conclusion, we weighed the advantages and disadvantages of a distributive approach, however, we eventually decided to take an integrative and predominantly interest based stance versus a position based stance in our negotiations after assessing internal and external environmental factors. In addition, we settled on this strategy because we ultimately believe that management and the union share at the very least, one fundamental common interest, which is the firm’s financial stability. That being said, even with our plans to use integrative bargaining, we still plan to negotiate assertively to achieve
In 1788, the ratification of the United States Constitution sought to establish the fundamental aspects of the nation’s government, laws, and protections of its citizens’ unalienable rights. Robert G. McCloskey’s The American Supreme Court (2016) explains that, during this period, the prospects of the Supreme Court were essentially unknown. As time progressed, however, the Court began strengthening its legitimacy with its decisions in major landmark court cases which, in turn, established its crucial role in shaping the judicial interests and values of the nation. As such, McCloskey (2016) traces the country’s judicial history by highlighting the Court’s great transitional periods regarding state rights, nation rights, property rights, and slavery. By the start of the 20th century, however, discrepancies began to emerge with the rise of
Jim O’ Brien made an observation that a portion of Hardee’s customers have a higher profit rate than others. Hardee has a history of using discounts and published tariff taxes to establish their prices. Although discounts are attained through freight volume, this may have to change due to the fact that the employees work volume is higher than the freight volume. Based off this information, Jim expects a new service demands for his consumer to be troublesome to cost and price because it will no longer be based on freight volume; the new demands will include but not be limited to merge- in-transit, event management, continuous shipment tracking RFID capability, and dedicated customer service personnel. With all this new found knowledge Jim and the pricing managers for Hardee Transportation, is attempting to find a new pricing method that will benefit their customers and themselves; they must find a pricing method
Since, it was the ball park owner, Philip K. Wrigley’s personal opinion that baseball is a daytime sport and therefore they did not install lights at the stadium; it was his personal interest against what it was good for the corporation. The Court should find if his intentions were truly fraudulent, conflicted or illegal. If the Court is able to prove that then they would rule in favor of the defendants which are the shareholders in this case. The law for this case would be: Majority shareholders have the exclusive control of corporate policy through directors, absent fraud, illegality, conflict of interest, or similar wrongdoing.
Depositions help attorneys gather information, while also preserving a witness’s testimony. By conducting depositions, an attorney is less likely to be surprised at trial. As an attorney for Great Northern Bank, I will be deposing Albert Waltham. Albert Waltham is a key witness in this case, and his testimony may help us advance our argument. When deposing Albert Waltham, I will target three areas of inquiry: his meetings with Jake Garner, documents he may have received regarding David Waltham’s loan, and whether he had any interest in David Waltham’s car loan.

Previous research has provided evidence that there is a rather frequent occurrence of false identifications of innocent people in line-ups (Lindsay, Wells, Rumpel, & Campbell, 1981). Eyewitness memories are often distorted by inaccurate memories of how accurate their original identification was (Wells & Bradfield, 1998). Often the eyewitness will be unsure at the time of the line-up identification, but when recalling the identification process they often give a confident positive response (Wells & Bradfield, 1998). A confirming-feedback comment can have a pronounced effect on the reconstructing of the witnessing and identification process. The comment may not only inflate recollections but also have an impact on the eyewitness confidence (Wells

Between law and morality, no definite correlation exists, only the objective and subjective thinking of the judging congregation. The Michael Fay case was a test for the masses to decide whether his sentence of caning was either harsh or justified. Considering the situation, it is rather a justified punishment for the American teenager. As it had occurred in Singapore, the law is substantially different over there as opposed to American laws, an established point made by the conceding side. Ignorance of the law does not simply excuse one’s actions, especially if committed in another country. It was stated that he had lived in Singapore so it is assumed that he had some exposure to Singaporean society. His nationality should not be an
After graduating college, Leroy Wells founded Best Value computers in Jackson, Mississippi. His company provided “computer technology, desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripheral devices to local businesses and school districts in the southern half of Mississippi” (Johnston & Marshall, 2009). Leroy wanted long term growth, and to compete with the giants like Dell, HP, and IBM he knew he had to separate himself from them. To help him accomplish this goal, he hired Charisse Taylor. Charisse was from Hattiesburg Mississippi; she grew the company exponentially. She acted with integrity and Leroy liked that, which is what made her successful. Leroy wanted to go above and beyond for his customers so they would get the most bang for
